Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

”Even if you kill a batch, in a couple of days there will be a new batch of people starting to believe in that damn Zuo Jing.”

”After that, no one dared to invest or sign production contracts in a place where Zuo Jing had caused trouble, only some small companies looking for cheap deals were willing to produce here, and that’s when the colony started to decline.”

”The automation systems were the first to be scrapped, one reason was to save costs, the other was to gather those idle people in the colony.”

”Automation systems took up too many labor positions. Initially, when the colony was fully operational, everyone had something to do, but as production lines gradually halted, there were fewer places needing people, and this was the only way to bring people back.”

”Otherwise, allowing a large number of people to be idle would create too many opportunities for the spread of Zuo Jing, and this was also a way to stabilize the social environment.”

”But it didn’t work well; later on, more Zuo Jing incidents occurred in succession, and there was simply no way to completely resolve Zuo Jing.”

”So much so that Lou Wei and the others eventually gave up, even starting to assign some labor reform prisoners here.”

”The entire environment has been a mess, persisted until today.”

Chen Ming listened to Bai Quan’s account, finishing reading the entire content of the two documents, his understanding of Zuo Jing became much clearer.

Just four words, not worth a damn.

He looked up at Bai Quan: ”Actually, I’m surprised by one thing. Even though these two colonies are like this, they still have operational industrial facilities. What are they producing?”

”Mostly self-sufficient household goods.”

”As for why they are still operational, Zuo Jing may be crazy, but they are not stupid. There are definitely smart people in their upper ranks.”

”If they completely destroyed all the operational industrial facilities in the colony, this place would surely shut down, and everyone would have to relocate.”

”They would actually lose a place they can already call a stronghold.”

”But by keeping it half-dead like this, Zuo Jing can even have the Empire supporting them.”

”And as I just mentioned, Lou Wei and some prisons have made a deal, using this place as a work site for reform prisoners and as half a prison.”

”Locking a large group of Zuo Jing on this planet, with all entries and exits needing review, even if there might be loopholes in the review, it’s better than letting Zuo Jing have free rein.”

”And not everyone in this colony believes in Zuo Jing. It’s not like you can just wipe everyone out with one stroke.”

Chen Ming nodded, having finally understood the decline history of the Light Industry Colony.

The history of the other Heavy Industry Colony is quite similar to the Light Industry Colony.

After Zuo Jing elements gradually took root in the Light Industry Colony, a large number of Zuo Jing elements inexplicably began to appear in the nearest Heavy Industry Colony.

Once Zuo Jing appeared, the situation followed a similar pattern. This place also began to frequently encounter various industrial production accidents, gradually losing orders and losing vitality.

Chen Ming now saw that before completely eradicating Zuo Jing here, these two colonies had no hope left.

”So, in other words, they’re two stagnant pools, and Lou Wei has the nerve to present them.”

Bai Quan said with a somewhat helpless tone, ”Even the worst colony is still a colony, and these two colonies should be the ones closest in size to the colonies in your simulation, at least in terms of location, there’s no fault to find.”

”And given their current state, there’s nothing you can pursue anyway.”

”Alright, actually, it’s not too bad. Under such dire conditions, I can feel more at ease making some big moves.”

”Big moves?”

Bai Quan suddenly thought of something and said to Chen Ming, ”Wait a minute, there’s something I have to explain to you, it’s that within the Empire’s territories, colonies can’t be tinkered with at will.”

Chen Ming suddenly had a bad feeling, asking, ”What do you mean?”
