Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

”Fortunately, when you guys were stuffing supplies in here, you also repaired the surveillance. The monitoring footage from the past few days is all stored in this chip.”

”I’ve extracted all the video files. Take a look.”

Major General Song looked at Chen Ming’s face, finding no trace of deceit. With some effort, he picked up the chip with his dry arm and inserted it into the terminal, quickly playing the footage since the surveillance was installed.

It happened the day after the supplies were transported in.

The warehouse, which Chen Ming was unlikely to open, had its doors flung open.

Dozens of people rushed into the warehouse, openly driving in over a dozen heavy trucks and some auxiliary handling equipment, spending over ten hours transporting out vast quantities of supplies that were supposed to be used by Chen Ming in the colony.

Every warehouse had been visited by these people.

Even when the warehouse was guarded, the guards tried to negotiate when these people came in, but the leader of the group showed them something, and the guards allowed them to proceed.

And although there was surveillance nearby, the industrial area couldn’t record anything if it was slightly away from the warehouse.

Thus, there was no way to determine the final destination of these trucks.

Chen Ming suddenly noted, ”I truly feel we should implement Bai Quan’s previous method at the headquarters.”

Bai Quan hurriedly patted Chen Ming’s shoulder, signaling him not to speak out of turn.

At this time, he didn’t continue wanting to take a jab at Lou Wei and the others but instead frowned, unable to comprehend what was going on.

Yet, as could be seen, even the foreheads of Lou Wei and Major General Song were beaded with sweat.

”The surveillance footage might be fake...”

”Shut up.”

Major General Song elbowed Lou Wei forcefully, preventing him from speaking further.

”Instructor Chen, let’s do a little investigation.”

”Suit yourself.”

Major General Song hurriedly began making phone calls.

Meanwhile, Bai Quan quickly pulled Chen Ming a bit away from the crowd and asked, ”Are the supplies really missing?”

”They are indeed missing.”

After thoroughly confirming this news with Chen Ming, Bai Quan was stunned for several seconds, then shook his head and said, ”They’re finished.”

”What?”

In Chen Ming’s confusion, Bai Quan explained, ”The investigation department came down a few days ago and already concluded things. Don’t forget what the final penalty was.”

”For a General Level, most are demoted by a half-rank with a suspended sentence. And within just a few days of starting the suspension, they’re caught committing an offense. Imagine the consequences.”

”This hadn’t been discovered before.”

”If it was merely industrial equipment being damaged, that wouldn’t be an issue; it was meant for repair.”

”But now, a critical supply warehouse involved in the wagering agreement has gone wrong, disrupting the execution of the agreement. They didn’t fulfill their responsibilities.”

”When such things happen now, whose ending wouldn’t be disastrous?”

”Yesterday, weren’t you eager to see them in a worse situation? You’ll get to see what you wanted soon.”

”Your mouth is really...”

A few hours later.

The vicinity around the supply warehouse was crowded with people.

Using equipment borrowed from a neighboring well-managed prison for convict labor, Major General Song and his team confirmed a significant shortfall of supplies, and the footage from Chen Ming’s chip was indeed genuine.

The moment this information was received, Major General Song, who had already looked half-dead, suddenly turned pale and collapsed to the ground.

The surrounding people quickly rushed to help.

Meanwhile, Lou Wei, unnoticed by anyone, found his mind blank. He hadn’t expected so many supplies to be taken in advance.

Yet, a bitter yet relieved smile appeared on his lips.

The reason was simple.

He was the one who had actively antagonized Chen Ming, the disliked person.

Bai Quan naturally wouldn’t want him, and now he was a Colonel, no longer a Major General.

Being over fifty and at the rank of Colonel evidently left no future prospects.

With such a dim future, when seeing others possibly facing an even more miserable fate,

he actually felt a sense of relief.
