Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 819: Chapter 242: Glass Bead

The Black Mist Spirit Ability User hurriedly instructed the captain to send out a distress signal in an emergency situation.

In his mind, he constantly pondered under Chen Ming’s pursuit where the safest place might be.

His spiritual ability allows him to move quickly in any place that has shadows, even if the space between two shadows is the universe itself.

But now his Spiritual Power can only support one last long-distance move. If he cannot evade Chen Ming’s tracking after this move, he will truly be finished.

He must make a decision on where to use his last opportunity to deploy his Spiritual Energy.

Should he choose a spaceship furthest from Chen Ming’s cruiser to gamble, betting that Chen Ming won’t destroy that ship?

Or perhaps...

The Black Mist Spirit Ability User looked out of the porthole, bypassing Chen Ming’s stardust, at the habitable planet whose ecosystem was gradually recovering.

Half an hour later.

All of the fleet’s dozens of small ships became space debris under Chen Ming’s attack.

Although they could alternately teleport through superspace and the normal universe, they were no match for a cruiser with unlimited teleportation ability hunting them down.

At most, they could only delay for a short while.

After Chen Ming effortlessly disposed of them, a high-intensity scanner confirmed the status of the spaceship wreckage.

But until the last escaping small ship was destroyed, he did not find any traces of a Psychic on any ship.

Even on the ship with residual Spiritual Energy Fluctuations, Chen Ming did not find the corpse of the Black Mist Spirit Ability User, not even any remains.

Although there was evidence,

Chen Ming believed that even when the Black Mist Spirit Ability User’s Spiritual Power was near exhaustion, he wouldn’t perish along with the ship.

He must be hiding somewhere.

For instance, he could be in one of the escape pods launched from those ships, one of the spaceship wrecks he already scanned, or possibly he donned a protective suit and used Spiritual Energy to hide somewhere in outer space.

He couldn’t have gone too far; he must still be within this star system.

These places could have been overlooked, but further searching might take several days, making it harder to find and pinpoint the Black Mist Spirit Ability User.

After all, he’s a Psychic, and his Spiritual Power can recover. If he’s given some time, he might hide in a location which Chen Ming has already checked.

The possibility of capturing him again has been reduced to the extreme.

No, it seems there is still a chance.

Chen Ming suddenly discovered that he could still faintly perceive the Spiritual Energy Fluctuations of the Black Mist Spirit Ability User.

It seems that due to the previous, unofficially concluded clash of Spiritual Power, Chen Ming can now detect the location of the Black Mist Spirit Ability User’s Spiritual Energy Fluctuations.

Though this sensation is very weak and easily influenced by emotional fluctuations, it seems ready to dissipate at any moment.

But as long as Chen Ming remains calm, he can lock onto the direction the Black Mist Spirit Ability User has taken.

The Black Mist Spirit Ability User does not seem to have remained in the wreckage of those ships or in any escape pod; he chose to go to that habitable planet.

No equipment scans are needed; Chen Ming directly controlled the Stardust Level to land on the planet at the last sensed location of Black Mist Spirit Ability User’s Spiritual Energy Fluctuation.

This place is an area almost devoid of vegetation, with only a dull yellow desert.

In this area, upon a conspicuous protruding massive rock on the ground, Chen Ming found the long sword belonging to the Black Mist Spirit Ability User.

The sword bore clear remnants of Black Mist Spirit Ability User’s Spiritual Power, but he had vanished, and those remaining energies were slowly dissipating.

Moreover, Chen Ming had also lost his ability to pinpoint the Black Mist Spirit Ability User’s Spiritual Power, unable to find any traces belonging to him.

Chen Ming leapt onto this massive rock, scanning his gaze around.

But evidently, the Black Mist Spirit Ability User wouldn’t leave behind such obvious traces easily detectable.

Chen Ming shook his head and turned around to pull out the long sword embedded in the rock.

Initially, the residual Spiritual Power on the sword body completely dissipated when Chen Ming gripped the hilt, losing the continuous supply of the Black Mist Spirit Ability User’s Spiritual Energy, revealing the true appearance of the pitch-black long sword.

A pale long sword made of bone-like spiritual materials.

This means that Chen Ming cannot directly control using Spiritual Energy like when contacting a metal sword, and therefore cannot ascertain its name, he needs to consider it further aboard the ship.

However, Chen Ming can feel that the spiritual properties of the bone materials used to make the sword are negative, like ”somber” or ”low-key”.

And the spiritual creatures from which this bone material originates are surely related to shadows.

This sword fits perfectly with the Black Mist Spirit Ability User.

For him to abandon the sword here, he must have been cornered.

Unfortunately, for Chen Ming, the sword’s compatibility is not ideal.

But it can still be used; after all, it is a Spiritual Weapon, and its negative effects are not excessively adverse, still manageable.

Negative effect spiritual weapons, when used, not only bring negative effects to the user but also impose the same effects on the opponent; at least it’s not a loss.

It’s just that during the previous exchange with the Black Mist Spirit Ability User, Chen Ming didn’t feel much, probably due to the Stone of Chaotic Words elevating the threshold.
