Chapter 826: Chapter 243: Larceny_4

”This is an unheard-of Psychic. To have this kind of ability, and yet belong to Zuo Jing, this really is...”

Wu An shook his head, uncertain if he felt regret or some other special emotion.

After speaking, he looked at Hu Yi and said, ”You should continue pretending and hiding, go on with your covert investigation of Zuo Jing.”

”Zuo Jing used you to assassinate Xiao Ming and frame you, surely they have some designs on you. They’ll come looking for you sooner or later.”

”If you expose your connection with Xiao Ming too soon, and the news leaks, you might never be able to kill the impostor pretending to be you in your lifetime.”

”Tsk.”

Hu Yi clicked his tongue in slight annoyance.

But Wu An didn’t let up, mockingly continuing, ”You like to stir things up without background checks? Then you deserve it.”

Hu Yi waved his hands repeatedly at Wu An and said, ”I’ve already apologized to you, you’ve accepted my apology and I’ve compensated you with everything I earned. I’ve even pleaded with the president; enough already.”

”Just me and the president won’t do, you haven’t dealt with Xiao Ming yet.”

Upon hearing this, Hu Yi wore a pained expression and said, ”I can’t meet him now, but haven’t I been providing you with intel?”

”If there’s a chance later, I will definitely apologize to Chen Ming. I don’t want him holding a grudge against me.”

”Once this is all over, I’m really going to find a place to hibernate, hibernate until you and Chen Ming both die of old age before coming out.”

Wu An tilted his head and looked at him, saying, ”I might hibernate a couple of years from now too, are you sure?”

”Tsk, let’s talk about it later then.”

Hu Yi closed his mouth, and Wu An didn’t continue with idle chatter, instead turning to business, ”We have a lead, but it might not be easy to follow it through.”

”They lost someone on Xiao Ming’s side, so they might not go looking for him in the short term, but instead come for you.”

”I think it’s time for you to show a bit of presence.”

”Alright, that’s it, I won’t talk to you anymore, Xiao Ming is still waiting.”

Just as Wu An was about to pick up the terminal, Hu Yi reached out to stop him, saying, ”Wait, I suddenly remembered one more thing.”

”It’s about the usage of this Glass Bead. If I remember correctly... it should be infused with Spiritual Energy, then just crush it, and the rest relies on feeling.”

Wu An looked at Hu Yi with some suspicion and asked, ”How do you know?”

”Uh... I had a chat with someone from Zuo Jing before, asked what this thing was for, and he gave me one to try...”

”So it might have been at that time that my Spiritual Energy Fluctuation got stolen.”

Wu An looked at Hu Yi like he was an idiot, ”I’m seriously doubting your intelligence and the correctness of partnering with you.”

”Can’t help it, I’m blinded by money.”

Hu Yi, looking unfazed, said, ”But at least we figured out how it works, right?”

”Before, because I used Spiritual Energy in front of that Psychic, it got stolen. But Chen Ming is far away, so it should be fine; just tell him to be careful.”

”Also, be cautious when using it, the effect won’t be optimal if you don’t understand the nature of Spiritual Energy. The one I crushed before was a black bead, and I managed to learn a little bit before its effect expired.”

Wu An nodded, picked up the terminal again, and said to Chen Ming, ”Sorry Xiao Ming, someone just gave me a piece of information about the effect of the Glass Bead in your hand.”

The boss briefly explained to Chen Ming according to Hu Yi’s explanation.

As Chen Ming listened, his gaze gradually shifted from the pitch-black bead to the shattered red and blue bead.

Stealing Spiritual Energy?

The boss’s words basically confirmed the conjecture he had from the name obtained through Spiritual Energy.

Does this mean that last time during the volcano incident, it wasn’t actually Hu Yi, but a Psychic who had stolen Hu Yi’s Spiritual Energy?

Plus, Hu Yi’s face was only caught on camera, and many times a face can’t serve as evidence. It was only because of Hu Yi’s Spiritual Energy that it was confirmed he came to assassinate.

Now it seems there’s a big issue with this matter.

But Chen Ming still couldn’t be 100% sure that Hu Yi wasn’t in cahoots with Zuo Jing.

What if Hu Yi had voluntarily provided the Spiritual Energy to that Psychic?

And regardless, there is significant tension between him and Hu Yi, which Chen Ming won’t forget.

After finishing listening to the boss’s narrative while pondering, Chen Ming thanked him.

Then he stored the three Glass Beads into the Silent Alloy Box.

He took out another Bone Longsword and placed it in front of the terminal.

”Boss, I also have something else.”
