Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 494: Chapter 166: Processing

After the battle ended.

Space Arm No. 2, the boss’s hardware store.

The boss, with a blank expression, was having a video call with another Psychic, Hu Yi, who was near the Space Station.

He had already learned about the news outside the Space Station, and the explosions that had been ringing in his ears had also died down.

So he said to Hu Yi: ”The fighting outside is over, you should leave too.”

Hu Yi responded somewhat unexpectedly: ”Oh? It’s already over? Judging by your reaction, it seems like the outcome isn’t great for me.”

The boss continued to say with a blank face: ”See for yourself.”

”Hey, don’t be so stern, you know I’m not free to act on my own.”

”Let’s just have some tea and chat here, isn’t it nice to avoid fights and chaos? We’re civilized people; there’s really no need to fight.”

The boss suddenly let out a cold laugh and said: ”Didn’t they offer you too much?”

Hu Yi shrugged and said: ”That might have something to do with it.”

The boss wasn’t fooled at all and directly exposed Hu Yi’s lie, saying: ”I think that’s the main reason, hope you find this deal worthwhile.”

”What? Can you offer me more than they did? If you really can, I wouldn’t mind switching sides on the spot.”

The boss didn’t answer Hu Yi’s question, but instead stated a fact: ”Do you know that the President plans to come to see Chen Ming in a couple of days?”

Hu Yi was stunned and said uncertainly: ”What?”

”Do you know the government will definitely provide special protection for Chen Ming afterward? Especially within the Empire.”

”Going after Chen Ming will offend far more than just me.”

Hu Yi suddenly became a bit flustered because Wu An had no reason to tell such easily debunked lies. He hurriedly asked: ”What do you mean?”

”What do I mean? Ha, you think about it yourself?”

The boss directly hung up the call and turned to look at the entrance of the hardware store.

At this moment, Chen Ming happened to be standing there, followed by a transport robot, which was carrying a giant metal sphere with several mechanical arms.

At the last second of the boss’s communication with Hu Yi being cut off.

Hu Yi happened to catch a glimpse of the situation at the shop door through the video call.

Chen Ming, who returned safely to the Space Station without a scratch on him, and the familiar-feeling metal sphere behind him, made Hu Yi feel a chill at that moment.

And as the communication screen disappeared, Hu Yi recalled the screen just now, he suddenly had a moment of trepidation.

He immediately left his current room and went outside.

Outside his room was a corridor made entirely of metal materials, with several portholes.

Through the portholes, he could see the star of the Star System where the Pirate Space Station was located, and the remnants of the intense explosion that had just not fully extinguished within the Star System.

It could be seen that Hu Yi was on a spaceship, quite close to the Star System where the Pirate Space Station was located, but still maintained a position undetectable by normal detectors.

Although it was relatively difficult to see the situation within the Star System at this distance with the naked eye.

But this distance was enough for him to quickly enter the Star System if needed, maintaining his threat against the boss.

Just as Hu Yi said earlier, he really just wanted to maintain contact with the boss, have some tea, and see through this mission.

As long as he didn’t move, the boss couldn’t deal with another Steel Psychic who was fighting Chen Ming.

So they really were just having a video chat and never left each other’s sight.

Of course, the boss had extensive connections, always being able to get a lot of information without leaving home.

And so far he really wasn’t clear about the situation outside.

However, after coming out, someone immediately and silently handed him a document with an unpleasant look.

Obviously, the expression was not directed at Hu Yi, but because of what had just happened outside.

Hu Yi glanced through the porthole at the distant Star System again, then returned to his room to go through the document.

Halfway through, his face already showed drastic changes.

He had originally thought it was just an ordinary defeat.

He completely didn’t expect a Psychic to die today in an obscure little place in the Edge Star Realm, a place no one would know about if not for Wu An staying there.

And died at the hands of a newly-advanced Psychic who had only recently become one.

Images flashed through Hu Yi’s mind, the last image from the video call with Wu An.

The metal sphere held by the robot behind Chen Ming was likely the relic left behind after the Steel Psychic’s death.

Connecting Wu An’s earlier words about the President wanting to meet Chen Ming, he instantly thought of many possibilities, each one could entangle him in trouble.

Hu Yi immediately, somewhat nervously, quickly swiped on his terminal, searching to see if there was anyone among his contacts who could help him.

Even if not to deal with those troubles, at least to confirm whether the trouble was real.

When the President’s contact appeared before Hu Yi’s eyes.

He hesitated for a moment, didn’t click, and continued scrolling down, finding the contact for the person who hired him.

But when he dialed over, there was only an unanswered busy tone in the call.

Just as Hu Yi was calling.

Battle Zone Headquarters.

The Vice Admiral’s office.

The Vice Admiral and Tao Ying were here, but Zhang Feng was not present at the moment.
