Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 460: Chapter 159: Assignment of the Mission, Sudden Assassination

The matter of buying his own intelligence was just something Chen Ming said casually.

However, Glasses didn’t seem to have any doubts, instead speaking as though it were a normal intelligence trade, ”This person is quite popular lately, so here’s the price.”

Seeing Glasses extend two fingers, Chen Ming didn’t say much, asking as if buying intelligence was a regular occurrence, ”Twenty thousand?”

”Yes.”

”Alright.”

Chen Ming paid, and Glasses directly sent him the intelligence face-to-face.

Chen Ming stood up, leaned against the wall, and took a look, finding that all the content in the intelligence was basically information accessible through normal public channels.

It was mainly an introduction to Chen Ming’s life, with the most additional content being some intelligence about his time on the Pirate Space Station, which was very rough.

Starting from the local corrupt Star Zone Military targeting Sinda Corporation’s Mining Space Station, to relying on the Spiritual Energy capable of controlling spaceships to reach the Pirate Space Station.

When he wanted to expose the Star Zone Military’s corruption and greed, and had obtained sufficient evidence.

Ultimately, he was forced to use Spiritual Energy due to the pursuit by Star Zone Military, attracting Dusk, and saving his own life.

However, he had already submitted the evidence, leading to the downfall of the Star Zone Military.

Then the Fourteenth Legion conducted two rescue operations in the heartlands of Dusk where he was located, successfully bringing him out.

And enabled him to give Dusk a heavy blow using Spiritual Energy, taking away several of Dusk’s Cruisers and several Alpha Level entities.

The content was quite vague, and also had some errors.

There wasn’t even a single piece of truly hidden information.

The only piece of generally unknown information was that the internal corruption evidence of the Star Zone Military was indeed acquired by Chen Ming.

Chen Ming remembered he had shared the intelligence with both the company and the boss, but he didn’t know which side leaked it.

However, this intelligence, overall, cannot be said to be useless, but rather valueless.

So Chen Ming looked up at Glasses and asked, ”Is there more?”

Glasses tapped a few times on the terminal nearby, and asked casually, ”Do you want it in such detail?”

”You just say whether you’re selling or not.”

”Of course I’ll sell, but it won’t be this cheap.”

”How much?”

Just as Chen Ming was waiting for Glasses to name the price.

Suddenly, the voice of the boss came from the terminal in front of him, ”Alright, Xiao Ming, stop playing.”

”I’ve basically sealed off your intelligence; no one knows about it, and the bar only has what you just saw, nothing else.”

”If you want to know what kind of rumors are about you outside, just come and ask me. I only put out those pieces of information that showcase your capabilities.”

Now it made sense.

Chen Ming wondered why the intelligence dealer in the boss-funded bar would sell his intelligence and not even recognize him.

Moreover, the bartender outside clearly recognized him, knew that he usually wore a protective suit, and didn’t link him to the Chen Ming in the intelligence.

It seemed the boss had arranged ahead of time, sealing many messages tightly, not even telling his subordinates.

So even his habit of wearing protective suits wasn’t leaked.

Of course, such as the Space Station Administration where Chen Ming stayed for a while might not be controllable.

So there were still people who knew Chen Ming’s habits, like the Guard Captain he just saw.

But with the factory manager there and the company actively trying to ”rekindle the relationship” with Chen Ming, it was basically impossible for them to leak it actively.

Add to this, not many people knew Chen Ming’s habits, and those who did should protect them proactively.

Among the few who knew Chen Ming’s habits in the administration and had the motivation to leak them, such as the director.

Now, even they were unable to protect themselves, probably not having the mind to consider Chen Ming’s daily habits.

So, Chen Ming’s situation basically wouldn’t be noticed, even if he were, in a bright daylight, walking down the street he wouldn’t be recognized.

But he thought it would still be better to be cautious and refrain from wearing protective suits; just wearing Power Armor should suffice.

After thinking through the situation, Chen Ming said to the boss, ”Okay, but actually I came to find Old Wu, and thought to drop by to see if there was any intelligence for sale.”

”Hmm, handle the rest yourself, I have other things to do, come find me if needed.”

The boss hung up the communication.

Glasses sitting on the chair beside was a bit embarrassed for a moment.

He remembered the last time when Chen Ming came, the boss happened to be there too, and Chen Ming had a longer chat with the boss and helped him with something.

But he hadn’t expected that during this time of absence, Chen Ming and his boss’s relationship seemed to have gotten quite good.

Was he just provoking Chen Ming just now?

Of course, regardless of what Glasses was thinking, Chen Ming obviously didn’t mean to dwell on the fact that he secretly contacted the boss.

After all, although Glasses was only following the boss’s orders by doing so, it still counted as protecting him.

So Chen Ming sat across Glasses again, with no intention of bringing up the recent incident.

Glasses subtly let out a breath, a hint of nervousness and curiosity flashing beneath his gaze.

He suddenly asked proactively, ”Are you the Chen Ming?”

Chen Ming didn’t deny it, ”Yes.”

”Then I’ll refund you those twenty thousand just now.”

Glasses was afraid to take the money now.

”No need, too troublesome, just consider it as me covering Old Wu’s drink bill for you. If he asks, just tell him, it’s alright.”

”Okay.”

A few words later Glasses also relaxed a bit, looking at Chen Ming, waiting for Chen Ming’s next move.
