Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 473: Chapter 162: The Final Preparations Before Departure_2

The remaining four are all combat-type ships, each with a different focus.

The Brilliant is equipped with powerful firepower capabilities.

The Plasma Reserve System provides it with an extraordinarily terrifying energy weapon amplification effect in terms of maneuverability.

The more flexible Radiance Level is better suited for fleet maneuvers, similar to what it did previously on the Dusk side.

As for the Refraction Level, it’s a heavy cruiser similar to the Ruler Level of the military.

Its primary task is usually to hold the line in large-scale battles, delivering frontal firepower, and is typically a defensive ship for certain critical locations.

The last one, the Flashing Level Cruiser Carrier, equipped with Starlight Unmanned Fighters, possesses point-defense weapons that are rare among other Dusk ships. It leans towards a supportive and defensive type of cruiser.

So what Chen Ming lacks most now is a cruiser.

In fact, the cruiser carrier is still the type that can best utilize Chen Ming’s own abilities and also the one that consumes the most resources.

The supportive and defensive Flashing Level does not suit Chen Ming’s spiritual prowess; only something like the Torrent Level, equipped with the Terminator Unmanned Fighters and maxed out in offense, would be suitable.

However, Chen Ming is not familiar with many models of cruiser carriers, besides the Flashing Level, there are only two others.

One is the Mola Level Cruiser Carrier, which once acted as part of the fleet protecting the Military Outpost during the Dusk sneak attack.

The other is the Heron Level High-Speed Cruiser Carrier, a type sold by the Sinda Corporation to the military.

With high maneuverability and specialized powerful sensors, it can provide extremely accurate enemy ship data for all Heron-deployed fighters, enhancing their combat efficiency.

Therefore, Chen Ming’s choice.

Was based on him having just asked the Brilliant whether there were any good cruiser carriers available.

The Brilliant mentioned a type he hadn’t heard of before, the Stardust Level Cruiser Carrier.

According to the Brilliant, the Stardust Level ships have only appeared at the front lines where the Empire and Dusk main forces are engaged in combat, and they are produced by Speed Particle Technology.

Chen Ming chose it for one reason only.

Because the Stardust and Torrent share similarities in that they are both outfitted with offensive-type unmanned fighters.

The Torrent carries the Terminator Unmanned Fighters.

While the Stardust is equipped with the equally special Meteor Unmanned Fighters as the Terminator.

On the Dusk side, there isn’t much data on these ships, but based on battle observations, it’s clear that the Meteor is as extraordinary as the Terminator.

This absolutely is the best choice for Chen Ming.

Bai Quan did not question how Chen Ming knew about such ships and immediately agreed, ”Okay.”

Although the Stardust Level ships from Speed Particle Technology are expensive, even for the Fourteenth Legion.

However, when Bai Quan promised to compensate Chen Ming with a cruiser, he was already prepared to bleed financially, as cruisers are not cheap in any case.

After agreeing to Chen Ming’s choice of cruiser, Bai Quan continued, ”Well, then, let’s move on to the recent request.”

”I said before that as long as your requests are reasonable, you may freely propose them. So, what are your thoughts?”

Chen Ming did not respond because he was unsure what exactly he wanted.

After all, Bai Quan had acquired partial data on the New Star Level and managed to destroy two Dusk main battlecruisers, including the New Star.

Such an accomplishment, which could promote a Major General to Vice Admiral, really made it difficult for Chen Ming to estimate its worth accurately.

Moreover, additional spiritual weapons seemed unnecessary for Chen Ming, and requesting another cruiser seemed a bit trivial, as he already struggled to manage the ones he had.

Getting more Dusk entities was also unnecessary, since Chen Ming was already having difficulty organizing the work of the four Dusk cores he had on hand.

Specifying a characteristic Spiritual Stone seemed an option, but Chen Ming’s need for Spiritual Stones wasn’t that significant.

Just the Stone of Chaotic Words was sufficient for Chen Ming’s daily training and self-defense.

Is there a better option?

The boss previously mentioned that something pertaining to spiritual matters could be selected, although the Spiritual Stone wasn’t a viable option.

So, after thinking it over for a while, Chen Ming tentatively asked, ”Enlightenment Nerve?”

”Hiss...”

Chen Ming heard the sound of Bai Quan sharply inhaling and asked, ”Is it not possible?”

Chen Ming’s request was teetering on the very line of what Bai Quan could consider.

So after contemplating for a moment, Bai Quan said, ”It’s possible, but I can only provide you with an artificial one, and it might take a few days.”

It’s really possible.

Chen Ming hadn’t expected that what he casually mentioned would be agreed to by Bai Quan.

And indeed, he preferred an artificial one; natural Enlightenment Nerves might have been taken from other individuals and could harbor strange spiritual energies.

So Chen Ming promptly said, ”That’ll suffice.”

”Alright, but what do you intend to do with it?”

”It’s supposed to be for consumption.”

”...”

Bai Quan automatically assumed Chen Ming meant absorbing it.

Although Bai Quan had heard from psychics he knew that actively absorbing Enlightenment Nerves was a quick way to enhance one’s spiritual power.

However, it would cause one’s spiritual power to become mixed with other random energies, necessitating a lengthy period of sorting and digestion, or else spiritual abilities could be compromised.

And absorbing Enlightenment Nerves is inherently a dangerous endeavor.

But since it was Chen Ming, Bai Quan felt no need to elaborate.

”Oh, by the way, don’t forget about the Refraction Level parked with me.”

”Of course I haven’t forgotten.”

”However, this ship might need to stay with you for a few more days; the Pirate Space Station here can only accommodate two cruisers at most, so there’s no space left.”
