Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 446: Chapter 155 Change_3

If those things are not completely dealt with, the next territory of the Empire will sooner or later encounter these same issues.

But that’s far off, as long as those who have experienced dimension infection are well handled and kept from contacting each other, such troubles won’t emerge.

Moreover, Chen Ming suddenly realized a point the president made and asked, ”Is there anyone else studying cloning technology that could lead to new dimension infections?”

”Humans surely don’t dare; Dusk wasn’t clear before, but with this experience, they certainly won’t attempt another time. Could a new dimension infection appear?”

The president sounded a bit surprised, seemingly unexpected by Chen Ming’s thoughts.

”Dusk might indeed not, but I think you’re seeing humans in too good a light.”

”You might not know just how many Cloning Research Institutes are shut down within the Empire every year.”

”Are there still people crazy enough to do such things?”

”The Empire’s territory is vast, with so many planets occupied, the population is already in countless trillions, among so many people there’s always someone fearless or insane.”

Chen Ming heard two keywords and instinctively asked, ”Zuo Jing?”

”They’re just a part, you can ask Wu An for specific info in this intelligence aspect.”

Chen Ming lifted his head and glanced at the boss.

The boss nodded slightly and said, ”We’ll talk later.”

Chen Ming lowered his head once again, looking at the terminal.

The president had roughly finished explaining the matters for his call, saying, ”So that’s it, as long as there are people, the possibility of dimension infection will never reach zero.”

”Let’s stop here today, I’ll rearrange the plans, if you have questions, we can chat in the next video call.”

”In a couple of days, I’ll reach out to you through Wu An, goodbye.”

The president somewhat hastily hung up the call.

Communication ended once again.

The room remained silent, only filled with silence.

Chen Ming was contemplating the troubles he might face as someone who experienced dimension infection.

Meanwhile, the boss seemed to be reminiscing about past situations.

But he didn’t personally experience that period, so soon he focused back on the present.

He said to Chen Ming, ”Xiao Ming, since you only need to communicate via phone with the president, there’s no need to stay confined in the Pirate Space Station, what’s your plan?”

Chen Ming immediately switched his thoughts, responding, ”I have a few matters to resolve here in the Space Station, I’ll leave after I contact the president.”

”Alright.”

The boss nodded and said, ”Let me tell you what the president was saying just now.”

”Sure.”

Just as Chen Ming was quite interested in these matters within the Empire, which he usually didn’t get to encounter, he readily agreed.

”First of all, indeed, some are still conducting cloning experiments.”

”But they’re from various small forces with some assets, since larger forces know the consequences of doing such things.”

”Among those small forces, the leader is Zuo Jing.”

Chen Ming interjected, ”But I’ve heard Zuo Jing is backed by a major force.”

”Yes, raising bandits for one’s own advantage, but those supporters know their limits, such cloning experiments are things they would never do, it’s the maniacs within Zuo Jing conducting them.”

”Which sane person would, when they have money and plenty of time to enjoy life, choose to perish with the entire Empire?”

”There’s no reason for normal people to do such things, but the maniacs of Zuo Jing are different, you know that.”

Chen Ming fully agreed with this.

The boss continued, ”Fortunately, the Empire strictly monitors the usage direction of materials required for all cloning experiments, any issue can be immediately uncovered.”

”So until now, Zuo Jing’s people haven’t led to any consequence.”

”But lately there’s news that they’re seemingly trying to connect their fictional god in their teachings to those things from another dimension.”

”Internal control measures are also being intensified due to the dimension infection incident you encountered in Dusk, so you needn’t worry overly much.”

”It’s a pity that Zuo Jing’s people can’t be wiped clean, there’s always someone preaching somewhere, who knows when it might spring up again.”

Chen Ming asked, ”Could they target me, considering I hold a grudge against them and had the recent incident, if they want to use their belief, wouldn’t attacking me fit well?”

The boss pondered Chen Ming’s statement and said, ”Taking down a Psychic like you who essentially desecrates Zuo Jing’s teachings with the presence they wish to venerate from another dimension does indeed fit their teachings.”

”If they truly act this way, their influence internally might become entirely impossible to suppress, perhaps even appearing directly on stage.”

The boss suddenly changed the course of his words, ”But the second occurrence of a dimension infection incident happened on Dusk’s turf, and only a few people know this news.”

”By the time the news truly spreads, you would’ve already left, who can find you then?”

The boss patted Chen Ming’s shoulder and said, ”No need to worry so much.”

”Alright, rest first, recover before working, if you need anything, you can find me, you know where I am.”

”Okay.”

The boss lingered at the Supreme Point for quite a while and then left here.
