Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 417: Chapter 148 Idea_2

A team member who was not familiar with mechanical equipment instinctively asked, ”So many?”

”Yes, the Gravity Magnet Repeller is not a single device, but rather multiple pieces of equipment spread throughout the inner circle of the dock that can create a gigantic magnetic field.”

”Although there are many of them, we don’t need to destroy them all. If we can destroy two or three, it will cause a chain reaction, and the others will break down on their own.”

”So what exactly do we need to do?”

The captain pointed to a spot nearby without hesitation and said, ”Here, the small ship docking area inside the dock; there are engineering ships here working on the New Star Level construction.”

He looked at the electronic technology team member and said, ”I need you to hack in and use Dusk’s spaceship to destroy the Gravity Magnet Repeller.”

”Can’t we use our own weapons?”

”No, because it’s too far, and our weapons’ range is too short. We most likely won’t be able to get close to those places, only the spaceship can barely manage it.”

”Also, our weapons are needed elsewhere, look here.”

The captain gestured from their current location to the next target location, which is the cargo distribution center, and then to the vicinity of the shipyard where Dusk’s engineering ships are docked for the New Star Level construction.

”We are still relatively safe from here to the cargo distribution center.”

”But from the cargo distribution center, the exclusive transportation channels go all the way toward the warehouses where the shipbuilding equipment is installed deep inside the dock.”

”There are all sorts of moving things detected on all the roads, all of them are Dusk’s robots.”

Looking at the densely scanned Dusk robots on the map, the captain felt a slight chill down his spine.

”Dusk is now in a state of tight outside, loose middle, and then tight inside.”

”So up to this point, it’s impossible for us to continue without a direct confrontation with Dusk.”

”Prepare for a frontal assault, check all weapons; we brought good test items when we came out.”

”If we’re efficient enough, we can complete the mission before Dusk takes us all out.”

”Run if you can, if you can’t then throw the weapons away and surrender, it’s not shameful.”

”But remember, that’s after the mission is completed.”

”Before completing the mission, if you drop the weapons, there’s no need to come back.”

”Is that clear?”

Several team members immediately nodded.

Meanwhile, Chen Ming, who had just received some extra Spiritual Power supplements from the Ship Spirit, focused his attention back here.

He happened to hear the captain and the team members discussing their subsequent actions.

Chen Ming could tell that the captain was crafting their plan under the premise of not having Chen Ming’s assistance.

Essentially, every step was thought up on the spot.

Of course, Chen Ming did not blame them for not preparing beforehand for such an important task.

After all, the deployment of the special operation team was not pre-arranged. It was Bai Quan’s spontaneous idea after Chen Ming made an offhand remark, resulting in the formation of this team.

There was simply no way to prepare in advance.

Therefore, it’s clear that the captain had the ability to make fairly reasonable arrangements on the fly.

It’s just that his thinking was still limited to ordinary people, completely not taking Chen Ming into account.

Of course, it might also be because he didn’t dare include Chen Ming.

This further shows that he is a person who understands boundaries and won’t take Chen Ming’s help for granted.

But since Chen Ming heard, he certainly wouldn’t let them proceed with this plan.

After all, his capabilities could reach very high limits on Dusk’s territory.

Moreover, the extent of his effort in this task could greatly influence what he gets from Bai Quan afterwards.

So he directly interrupted the communication between the captain and the team members and said, ”There’s no need for all that trouble, just walk over directly. You’ll be safe until you reach the warehouse position of the shipyard over there.”

Because beyond that, it is really near the location where they are building the core of the Main Ship in the gigantic dock.

The Beta Level Dusk that Chen Ming is controlling at the data node, although it has horizontal control over several areas influenced by the data node.

But in terms of vertical depth, this Beta Level Dusk isn’t very effective, limiting Chen Ming’s influence to this point.

This also results in the special operation team’s inability to receive support for the final stretch.

Of course, this is because Dusk’s gigantic dock is mainly modular, with almost no physical connections between each part.

If it weren’t for the critical nature of the data node Chen Ming controls, the extent of influence might have been even less, or not spread out at all.

Otherwise, as long as he could control a data node, the rest of the gigantic dock could potentially be controlled through network connections, ignoring any influence concerns.

Since this gigantic dock is controlled by a large number of individual Dusks.

All issues regarding Spiritual Power can be managed by the Dusk entities he controls to help bear.

If this could actually be done, Chen Ming might even continuously send people inside until reaching the shipyard where the New Star Level is parked under construction.

Only here is completely disconnected, without any physical links to the rest of the dock.

Unless a Dusk entity controlled by Chen Ming could reach here in a physical sense and access the data network here, it would be a pure land beyond Chen Ming’s control.
