Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 432: Chapter 152 Contact

In front of the logistics passage door where the gravity device’s module is sealed.

The members of the special operations team are preparing to force their way through the door.

As long as they can get in and find a way to access the gravity device, they will surely find a way to change its gravitational orientation.

They will complete their mission.

In fact, they have an even better option.

Directly request Chen Ming to find the data line and forcefully connect it.

At this point, they don’t mind being exposed. If they’re going to break the door, tearing down walls isn’t a big deal.

As long as Chen Ming connects, this module area will be under control, and the gravity shift of the gravity device will be just a blink away.

But the captain is also uncertain if Chen Ming will help them at this time, especially since they just placed the Gamma Level core given by Chen Ming at the maintenance factory they left just now.

So he opts to take out the terminal and says to it, ”Mr. Chen...”

”I’m watching.”

Chen Ming’s voice instantly resounded.

But he didn’t immediately decide whether to help the special operations team at this time.

Because his condition is dire, one might say he’s at the end of his rope.

He can’t even hold a knife now.

His hands are full of wounds, the pain has numbed him, and he can’t stimulate his spiritual power at all.

Even his will has begun to scatter.

Although Chen Ming believes he can eventually recover the spiritual power limit he’s lost.

But the limited energy loss now is impossible to make up while conscious.

Moreover, his focus is much more on the core area on the other side; he must concentrate all his attention here.

Because obtaining the final main control system blueprint of the New Star Level here is clearly more important to Chen Ming than achieving Bai Quan’s goal.

Chen Ming doesn’t feel burdened, as he initially told Bai Quan that this task wasn’t certain to succeed.

And Bai Quan also said this task was just a bonus, great if it worked, and it didn’t matter if it didn’t.

Therefore, Chen Ming’s choice now goes without saying.

His target will only be the New Star Level’s blueprint.

The special operations team, it seems, must complete the final task themselves.

Their request, and Chen Ming can only...

Just as Chen Ming intended to deny their request using the excuse that there wasn’t a nearby Dusk individual he controlled,

Bai Quan suddenly asked Chen Ming through his terminal, ”How’s the special operations team faring? I detected some major commotion inside the giant shipyard.”

Chen Ming temporarily set aside the special operations team and said to Bai Quan, ”The special operations team is still alive, and the mission has progressed slightly, but it’s not done yet. Are you planning to withdraw?”

”Not yet, it’s just that I’ve obtained a code, secured through some connections.”

”It’s said to be a code left during the design of the giant shipyard, similar to a developer’s code.”

”You can think of it as a developer’s backdoor for direct access to advanced permissions, and the person who gave me the code said it could be entered through network signals.”

”Our own giant shipyard has definitely removed such code backdoors, but if Dusk didn’t know about this....”

”I think you should try it, though I can’t guarantee success.”

Bai Quan saved a very long string of code into the terminal.

Then Chen Ming directly passed this code to the Dusk individuals he controlled that were attacking the core area.

Utilizing the internal network signal channel on the giant shipyard, the code was applied.

Immediately, something unexpected to Chen Ming happened.

The Dusk individuals he controlled indeed gained advanced control permissions of the giant shipyard, but only partially.

Dusk didn’t construct the giant shipyard entirely according to human methods but modified some structures to suit themselves based on human designs.

Therefore, the effectiveness of this developer code was limited to only part of the giant shipyard.

However, Chen Ming noticed that Dusk seemed to have only altered the perimeter areas.

The most central main ship position, where the New Star Level is being built, was untouched by Dusk.

The alterations to the outer areas rendered the developer code ineffective.

Yet the most crucial, core location remained unmodified.

Perhaps it wasn’t that Dusk didn’t want to alter it, but that many designs were impossible for them to change at will.

The core of the giant shipyard determines its existence’s purpose. If Dusk could freely modify this area, the shipyard shouldn’t have borne human traces from the start.

Dusk should have constructed their own from scratch.

Since they employed stolen human technology, they must be prepared to be exploited by humans.

Chen Ming’s opportunity arrived.

The Dusk he controlled directly acquired the core area’s advanced permissions.

In an instant, they issued commands to all Dusks across the giant shipyard, especially those obstructing the Dusk controlled by Chen Ming from entering the core area.

Such conflicting commands promptly caused chaos on the edge of the core area, disrupting the orderly restraint on the rebellious Dusks.

Although the Alpha Level Dusks inside reacted quickly, immediately locking down other permissions with their highest authority upon discovering this developer code vulnerability.
