Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 444: Chapter 155: Change

Chen Ming’s explanation sounded very reasonable.

But the boss still felt something was off, and said: ”But since you already exist in our universe, doesn’t it make no difference whether you meet the president or not?”

Chen Ming immediately denied it: ”No, something feels wrong.”

”I do exist, but when those things from another space are trying to locate me and the president, they should only be able to pinpoint two independent points.”

Otherwise, it doesn’t explain why Chen Ming hadn’t felt this way before, not until he was actually planning to set sail and find the president did he break out in a cold sweat.

Of course, Chen Ming couldn’t be that direct, so he opted for a more reasonable explanation: ”Our connection with another space isn’t like Superspace where everything corresponds entirely; there are definitely many complex or even distorted influences in between.”

”They can locate the Empire for twenty years, which means they can identify the position of an infection within our universe through dimensional infection.”

”But after twenty years, they lost our position again, suggesting that the relative positional change between dimensions makes further location impossible.”

”This relative positional change, according to our understanding, surely has traces to follow, given those things haven’t continued to track us.”

”This indicates that for them, the relative positional change between dimensions is random.”

”This change process experienced distortion between our universe and their dimension.”

”So even if the president’s existence provides a coordinate, they can’t find our location because the coordinates provided by the president and I have become random after undergoing dimensional changes.”

The boss then suddenly thought of a question and asked: ”So do you think there’s a possibility that they can’t locate us through the people who’ve experienced dimensional infection?”

Chen Ming, using Spiritual Energy, slightly controlled his Supreme Point, and a thought of finding the president flashed through his mind.

In the next instant, the sense of danger descended once again.

So Chen Ming replied confidently and decisively: ”No, they definitely can determine our coordinates through me and the president.”

”It’s just because the president and I haven’t made actual contact so far.”

”And after the last dimensional change, they most likely don’t know specifically where in our universe the second dimensional infection occurred.”

”They aren’t even clear if it’s the same Empire or if the clone was created by the same species.”

”To be honest, this second dimensional infection was caused by Dusk, not humans.”

”Even if they know our human genes, they cannot be sure that humans themselves created the clone.”

”Wait, something’s not right, disregard what I said there.”

Chen Ming suddenly remembered the sense of danger he felt in the Universe of the Consciousness Space before.

This should indicate that things from another dimension are already aware of his existence.

Thus, it’s wrong to say they aren’t sure whether the second dimensional infection was caused by humans; as long as Chen Ming is alive, if the dimensional infection wasn’t instigated by humans, in the end, humans would still be blamed.

”Nevertheless, they definitely can’t pinpoint the occurrence location of the two dimensional infections in our universe.”

Otherwise, Chen Ming’s danger perception ability should have known about it the moment the dimensional infection took place.

”The president and I are two discrete, independent points, not associated points.”

”Not contacting each other is fine, but if we do make contact, the situation changes.”

”These two discrete points would no longer be independent.”

”Two people who’ve contacted a corrupt dimension, two discrete, random coordinates.”

”When they get close, it’s as if they’re confirming a line for the corrupt dimension.”

”A line that reveals a pattern within the random relative positional changes of dimensions.”

”They could trace this line in the universe to find traces of our existence and locate the Empire.”

”If a third point ever appears, then it’s a certainty that trouble will ensue.”

Chen Ming finished conveying his conjecture in one breath, took a deep breath to calm down, and had a sip of water.

Though three days ago, he had no understanding or deep insight about another dangerous dimension and the issue of dimensional infection.

But the danger feeling brought by meeting the president prompted him to quickly contemplate many things he wouldn’t have thought of before, which are quite reasonable.

So much so that apart from mulling over what Chen Ming said, the boss couldn’t help but ask him: ”How did you come up with these thoughts?”

”...”

After thinking for a while, Chen Ming said: ”Probably just a feeling...”

”A feeling, huh?”

The boss didn’t doubt Chen Ming’s explanation.

Because they’d discussed a matter earlier.

When Chen Ming faced the Aberrational Heart and was forcibly pulled into the Consciousness Space by it, he perceived a danger from the stars.

At the time, the boss even helped Chen Ming by explaining that the Consciousness Space had magnified his awareness and greatly enhanced his perception.

So, at this moment, the boss also agreed with Chen Ming’s assumptions immediately.

After all, Chen Ming was a firsthand experiencer of dimensional infection and possessed very sharp perception abilities; sensing something was off was quite normal.

And then, at that moment, the boss’s terminal suddenly vibrated.

He picked up the terminal and looked: ”It’s the president calling.”

The boss answered the call and listened for a while, his expression growing more serious.
