Space Odyssey from Abandoned Mining Space Station

Chapter 411: Chapter 146: Bai Quan’s Plan_4

”As long as the New Star Level hasn’t been fully activated, its own weight will cause it to self-destruct, potentially damaging a significant part of the giant dock as well.”

Chen Ming abruptly asked a hypothetical question, ”What if Dusk has already shut down the anti-gravity modules and turned off the Gravity Magnet Repeller? The New Star just sits at the bottom of the dock, how would you handle that?”

”Then we would reactivate the anti-gravity modules and reverse the direction of gravity.”

Chen Ming nodded slightly, it seemed their plan was fairly comprehensive.

The ultimate target was set on the anti-gravity module—something generally very safe, unlikely to explode even if the ship is destroyed.

Even if Dusk wanted to dismantle it actively, he had to consider the impact on the giant dock itself if that thing really exploded.

However, correspondingly, the defense here would also be extremely tight.

The commando team should have been prepared by now.

”I’m curious about one thing, how do you plan to return?”

”The raiding boat can return, or we can surrender directly to Dusk.”

”Dusk has no record of actively killing during non-combat times. They would use us for negotiations with the military.”

”All prisoners can return safely.”

Chen Ming had no issues at this point.

”Alright then, you guys go do it, I’ll help you if necessary.”

”Yes.”

The captain obeyed Chen Ming’s instructions as if following the orders of a superior, and led his team out of the preparation room.

They were about to embark on the most dangerous journey for the most valuable outcome of this battle.

Whether they would come back alive, or even reach their destination alive, was unknown.

Chen Ming did have some slight concern for them at this moment.

But concern was useless, if they failed, the next special operations team would come to replace them, and no one would remember them.

Perhaps Chen Ming would remember them for a while, because they were somewhat similar to Chen Ming’s past—insignificant individuals.

Once upon a time, no one cared or remembered a few small employees on a Mining Space Station.

But now, Chen Ming had become someone who could influence the Star Realm United Battle Zone.

Bai Quan, who once claimed he had no retreat, was obviously also an insignificant individual at one time.

But now he had also become an Imperial Major General.

He should be able to understand the mindset and feelings of small individuals striving to seize an opportunity.

Or perhaps Bai Quan, having experienced much more himself, no longer cared about these.

But anyway, Chen Ming couldn’t help but care, as he had experienced such pain.

And for the first time, he had seen someone willing to pay the price of life to achieve their goal.

This firsthand impact was more apparent than just watching someone else’s story.

It’s like hearing about an accident that killed many people versus witnessing a neighbor frequently seen being hit by a car in front of oneself.

Obviously, the latter evoked more emotional fluctuation.

That’s pretty much how Chen Ming felt now.

No, Chen Ming thought carefully; he had indeed seen someone willing to sacrifice life for a goal.

But it was not a person—it was Dusk, it was the Brilliant.

Chen Ming shook his head slightly, temporarily dismissing the strange thoughts in his mind.

Continuing to watch, the fate of these few people might soon unfold.

A few minutes later.

The fleet of the Fourteenth Legion suddenly launched a massive wave of raiding boats.

Among a heap of raiding boats filled with enclosed-structure, system-logically only designed for destruction robots, there was one carrying this special operations team.

These raiding boats, at a great loss, pierced through the dense web of firepower between the fleets.

They inserted from the top, bottom, and flanks into the lines where Dusk encountered Bai Quan’s surprise attack and still couldn’t organize a decent defense.

Of the several hundred raiding boats launched simultaneously, only about a tenth succeeded in breaking through.

And the one carrying the special operations team happened to be among them.
