Global Flood: I Survive on Duckweed

Chapter 344: Chapter 211: Fully Loaded, but the Speed Is Too Slow

Motivated by the meat, James and his crew worked even harder. They had originally estimated it would take until 1:00 AM to fill the five supply ships, but by 11:30 PM, they were already finished.

When Ren Yuanyang received Xin Wan’s report, he was astounded. ”They have incredible potential!”

”Maybe the chicken at dinner gave them endless energy,” Xin Wan replied with a small smile. ”Of course, it’s a good thing our base has such an abundant supply of oil crops. Otherwise, they would have completely used up our raw materials!”

Ren Yuanyang nodded slightly. ”What’s the current status of our raw materials for fuel?”

”They’re almost depleted. We’ll probably need a recovery period before we can resume production,” Xin Wan answered.

”It seems we need to further expand the cultivation area for oil-producing plants. Notify Lin Mu to prioritize planting them in the newly cleared section of the Banyan Forest,” Ren Yuanyang ordered after a moment of thought.

”Yes!” Xin Wan acknowledged, immediately sending a message to Lin Mu.

Ren Yuanyang, meanwhile, found Long Zhan on his phone and, despite the fact that it was now past midnight, started a video call.

Long Zhan had pestered him with a call at 5:00 AM; it was only fair to return the favor.

Receiving Ren Yuanyang’s video call, Long Zhan, who was just about to go to bed, was taken aback for a moment before quickly answering.

”Brother Yang, you’re still up this late?” Long Zhan greeted.

Ren Yuanyang replied with a laugh, ”Going to bed this early? You gotta have some nightlife!”

Long Zhan was speechless. ”This is hardly the time to be concerned with quality of life!”

”I’m calling about something important,” Ren Yuanyang continued. ”We’ve finished loading the fuel. The ships can probably set out for Dawn Base in the early morning.”

On the other end of the line, Long Zhan was stunned. He couldn’t help but ask for confirmation. ”What did you say? All the supply ships are full?”

Ren Yuanyang gave an affirmative nod. ”That’s right. What’s wrong? Is there a problem?”

”No problem, but the total capacity of those five supply ships is about one hundred thousand tons. Are you sure they’re completely full?” Long Zhan still found it hard to believe.

Even pumping it straight from a pipeline, they would have had to load over sixteen hundred tons an hour. Surely they hadn’t just filled the ships with water?

It sounded like a fantasy, but Peach Blossom Base had actually done it.

It wasn’t just that Peach Blossom Base had an abundance of oil crops with exceptionally high yields; they also had the help of Evolvers who continuously optimized the extraction tools. That was how they managed to fill the supply ships so quickly!

”Would I lie about that?” Ren Yuanyang said with a laugh. ”We’re setting out immediately. They’ll probably reach you tomorrow morning. There are also five speedboats full of medicinal herbs coming along with them!”

”Okay, understood. I’ll be sure to arrange a proper welcome!” Long Zhan replied in a grave tone.

”Alright, it’s getting late. You should get some rest.” Ren Yuanyang ended the call.

With such good news, Long Zhan was now wide awake. He immediately sent a message to both Wang Jun and Ji Yizhi.

”Old Wang, Old Ji, Taoyuan Yang just messaged me. Our five supply ships are filled with fuel and are preparing to head back!”

Upon seeing the message, Wang Jun immediately initiated a video conference. Ji Yizhi was there too, of course.

”Didn’t they just arrive at Peach Blossom Base today?” Wang Jun asked as soon as he joined.

”Yeah! I can hardly believe it myself, but Taoyuan Yang said the supply ships are leaving Peach Blossom Base immediately!” Long Zhan nodded, his face still etched with shock.

”This... This is just absurd!” Ji Yizhi said after a quick mental calculation. ”That’s a production rate of nearly ten thousand tons per hour?”

”Split among five ships, that’s two thousand tons per ship, per hour?” Wang Jun’s eyes widened as he processed the figure. ”That’s higher output than a typical small oil refinery, isn’t it?”

”Right. And Taoyuan Yang mentioned before that their base has limited manpower. This might not even be their maximum production capacity. If they had enough people, the output could be even higher!” Ji Yizhi continued.

”That’s right. Taoyuan Yang did propose a partnership where they supply the raw materials and we handle the production,” Long Zhan immediately chimed in.

Wang Jun drew in a sharp breath. ”This Peach Blossom Base... it’s truly astonishing!”

Ji Yizhi nodded. ”Now we just have to see what the quality of the fuel is like.”

This was their first time trading for fuel with Peach Blossom Base. Whether its quality would be sufficient for large freighters and aircraft carriers remained to be seen.

Wang Jun thought for a moment before giving an order. ”Old Long, as soon as those supply ships reach Dawn Base, have your quality control personnel take samples and test them to confirm the fuel’s quality.”

”Got it!” Long Zhan replied instantly. Although he had great faith in Peach Blossom Base, it still needed to be confirmed.

”If there are no issues, have those supply ships return to the Aircraft Carrier Base,” Wang Jun continued.

Long Zhan was taken aback for a second, then immediately started to protest. ”You’re not leaving a single drop for me!”

Wang Jun rolled his eyes. ”You’re so close to Peach Blossom Base, you can go buy more anytime! The Aircraft Carrier Base, on the other hand, is running low!”

Long Zhan pouted. Though reluctant, he still nodded. ”Fine.”

”I’ll arrange for more supply ships to head over from my end. You can also send the supply ships from Dawn Base over directly,” Wang Jun continued.

”Okay, I get it,” Long Zhan replied.

After the call ended, Ji Yizhi immediately called Wang Jun again.

”Old Wang, should we arrange for some freighters to head over?” Ji Yizhi proposed. ”Since Peach Blossom Base has limited manpower, if we handle the production ourselves, it’ll save them the trouble!”
