Global Flood: I Survive on Duckweed

Chapter 328: Chapter 204: Taking Down Dawn, a War of Words

”The mobile squad is to depart immediately. We must intercept those two large ships that are fleeing!” Long Zhan commanded in a low voice.

”Yes, sir!”

Dozens of speedboats immediately shot out from the Aircraft Carrier Base’s formation. They bypassed the Dawn Base from both sides, heading for the coordinates Qin Haonan had provided.

Large ships have limited speed, and the speedboats were more than twice as fast.

Even though the speedboats took a detour, they could still quickly catch up to the two fleeing large research vessels.

”Report! Speedboats are closing in on us!”

Receiving the report from a subordinate, Hailan commanded in a low voice, ”Deploy our speedboat squad to intercept them!”

”Yes, ma’am!”

The eight speedboats escorting the two research vessels immediately charged toward the Aircraft Carrier Base’s mobile squad.

The two groups quickly met. Both sides were equipped with personal heavy weapons and immediately began exchanging fire!

Qin Haonan and the others, who had already pulled away to a safe distance, could still hear the dense sounds of gunfire and cannons.

”No wonder the leader has been so cautious about moving against the Dawn Base. With our current strength, dealing with these conventional weapons is indeed difficult!” Qin Haonan remarked with emotion.

Jianghu, who was beside him, nodded in deep agreement. ”I thought the Dawn Base had a lot of conventional weapons, but they’re nothing compared to the official military!”

”I hope the Aircraft Carrier Base can take down the Dawn Base successfully!” Qin Haonan prayed, looking in the direction of the gunfire.

”They definitely can! I have faith in our country’s forces. Even if the elites from Sea Eagle Country showed up, we would still fight and win!” Jianghu said with exceptional confidence.

Qin Haonan nodded slightly.

It had to be said, the Xi’an Base’s naval strength was formidable. The two sides were evenly matched, trading blows back and forth.

Amidst the flying shells, speedboats on both sides were hit and sustained damage.

But this time, every boat in the Aircraft Carrier Base’s mobile squad had a Gold-Type Evolver on board.

Whenever a speedboat was damaged, the Gold-Type Evolvers would quickly repair it, ensuring the boat remained functional.

In contrast, the Xi’an Base had no Gold-Type Evolvers on their speedboats to perform repairs. This was because their Evolver squad had been completely captured by Ren Yuanyang during the previous attempt to ambush Jing Shu.

With this advantage, the Aircraft Carrier Base’s mobile squad quickly gained the upper hand.

In just forty minutes, the mobile squad had annihilated the enemy.

Leaving two speedboats behind to clean up the battlefield, the rest charged on toward the two research vessels.

The cannons on the research vessels began to roar to life!

But the speedboats were too agile and difficult to target.

The speedboat pilots had trained hundreds, if not thousands, of times to evade attacks. They were far better than an amateur pilot like Qin Haonan.

The research vessels had a limited number of cannons and couldn’t provide covering fire. Weaving left and right, the speedboats rapidly closed in.

Once they were close to the research vessels, the mobile squad’s leader shouted, ”Stop your ships and lay down your arms immediately! Otherwise, we will open fire!”

On one of the research vessels, a subordinate came before Hailan in a panic.

”Ma’am, they’ve caught up to us, and they have rocket launchers!”

Hailan’s brow furrowed. ”Don’t panic. Stop the ships as they demanded.”

”Yes, ma’am!”

The two large ships immediately stopped. The Aircraft Carrier Base’s mobile squad didn’t rush in recklessly; they just circled at a distance, not getting too close.

Seeing how cautious they were, Hailan gave another order: ”Full steam ahead!”

Seeing the two ships start to move, the mobile squad’s leader yelled, ”Concentrate fire!”

”Yes, sir!”

Rockets, trailing white smoke, immediately launched from the speedboats, all flying toward the same spot on the large ship.

A stopped ship is a sitting duck. Even though it had started moving again, it would take time to build up speed.

The mobile squad’s attack was exceptionally precise, accurately hitting the designated area.

BOOM!

A massive explosion erupted. Dozens of rockets detonated simultaneously, immediately damaging the large ship, but the blow wasn’t fatal.

The mobile squad leader wasn’t surprised. With a wave of his hand, the second volley followed.

Dozens more rockets struck the same spot.

Then came the third volley, the fourth...

Even the toughest hull couldn’t withstand such a concentrated assault.

Finally, after the fifth volley, a large hole was blasted directly into the hull. The breach was right near the waterline, and seawater instantly began flooding in.

”Report! Our ship is breached! We’re taking on water!”

Before Hailan could respond to the subordinate’s report, another shout came from outside.

”This is just a warning! If you continue to move, we will keep attacking until your ship sinks!”

Hailan frowned in thought for a moment before sighing in resignation. ”Stop the ship.”

”Yes, ma’am!”

Although the hull was breached, it wasn’t enough to sink the vessel immediately, but the ship was already listing slightly to one side.

After the Xi’an Base ship stopped moving, the mobile squad immediately ceased their attack and resumed their circling patrol.

On the main battlefield, the Xi’an Base’s five battleships were trying desperately to buy time for the two research vessels to escape.

They knew they couldn’t possibly defeat the Aircraft Carrier Base’s massive fleet. The enemy had roughly four times as many ships; the disparity was too great. It was an impossible fight.

Once Long Zhan had commanded his fleet to surround them, the Xi’an Base forces decisively chose to raise the white flag.

”All hands, lay down your weapons and come to the deck immediately!” Long Zhan shouted through a megaphone.
