Global Flood: I Survive on Duckweed

Chapter 338: Chapter 208: Significant Effect, Relocating the Base (Part 2)

After ending his call with Wang Jun, Long Zhan immediately started a video chat with Ren Yuanyang.

”Captain Long, is there a problem with the medicinal herbs?” Ren Yuanyang asked curiously.

”No, the herbs you provided are excellent. The critical patients are already showing significant improvement!” Long Zhan immediately shook his head. ”I’m calling to discuss something with you. Would it be possible for Dawn Base to move further west? Right now, Dawn Base is too far from the Aircraft Carrier Base.”

Ren Yuanyang was slightly taken aback, then nodded immediately. ”Of course. Dawn Base is your secondary base; you can move it wherever you like!”

”Well, we still have to consider our trade with your base, so we can’t be too far away!” Long Zhan replied with a smile. ”Even if we move, we should let you know and figure out a suitable location together.”

Ren Yuanyang nodded slightly and switched to the map to look at the positions of the three bases.

Currently, the Aircraft Carrier Base was in the far west and Dawn Base was in the far east, separated by about two thousand kilometers. Peach Blossom Base was located south of the line between them, about three hundred kilometers from Dawn Base.

If Dawn Base were to relocate to a position two hundred kilometers directly west of Peach Blossom Base, the distance to the Aircraft Carrier Base would shrink to about fourteen hundred kilometers. A speedboat at full throttle could make the trip in under twelve hours!

Although that was still a long time, it was five or six hours shorter than before, which was a very significant improvement.

The Second-level Wind Sea Region directly west of Peach Blossom Base was quite large. If Dawn Base positioned itself at the westernmost edge of this region, it would be even closer to the Aircraft Carrier Base.

After some mental calculations, Ren Yuanyang marked a Polar Wind Sea Region on the map and sent it to Long Zhan.

”You can move Dawn Base into this sea region. That will shorten the distance between you and the Aircraft Carrier Base by at least six hundred kilometers.”

Long Zhan looked at the area Ren Yuanyang had provided, his heart stirring. He immediately replied, ”Okay, but we’re running low on fuel.”

”Your supply ships should be arriving soon, right? When they get here, I’ll send a few shiploads of fuel over to you first!” Ren Yuanyang replied. ”You can start moving now and head out to meet your supply ships on the way!”

”Okay, I understand!” Long Zhan nodded. ”Thanks, Brother Yang!”

After the call, Long Zhan stared at the map in thought for a moment, then immediately gave an order: ”All ships of Dawn Base are to move slowly toward the target location! At the same time, order the empty supply ships coming from the Aircraft Carrier Base to follow our route and rendezvous with us.”

Hearing this order, the first mate standing beside him was stunned.

”Captain, we don’t have much fuel left! It’s not nearly enough to get our entire fleet to the target location!” the first mate said, his brows furrowed tightly.

”Don’t worry, Peach Blossom Base will provide us with fuel!” Long Zhan waved his hand dismissively. ”Just execute the order for now!”

The first mate felt helpless but could only acknowledge the order and leave.

Long Zhan immediately shared the recent chat with Wang Jun and Ji Yizhi.

When Wang Jun and Ji Yizhi saw the location Ren Yuanyang had provided, they were both shocked.

”Even I could see it. You two must understand it as well, right?” Long Zhan said.

Ji Yizhi nodded. ”I never would have thought Jing Shu’s speculation was actually correct! But this is just unbelievable!”

”Yeah, who would have thought Peach Blossom Base would actually be inside a Seventh-level Wind Sea Region!” Wang Jun exclaimed with equal astonishment.

”How can anyone even live in a Level 7 Wind Sea Region? Wouldn’t you be rocking back and forth all day?” Long Zhan asked, completely bewildered.

”Peach Blossom Base is not as simple as we imagine. Maybe they have some other way to anchor their hulls to the water’s surface!” Wang Jun shook his head and speculated.

Long Zhan deeply agreed, then asked with a smile, ”Old Ji, now that we know Peach Blossom Base’s location, do you want to go take a look?”

Ji Yizhi was speechless. ”No. Since Taoyuan Yang revealed the location to us, he’ll invite us for a tour sooner or later. There’s no rush!”

”That’s right. Old Long, don’t you go off on a reckless reconnaissance mission!” Wang Jun warned.

Long Zhan pursed his lips and retorted, ”Weren’t you two the ones who always wanted to run recon? Now you’re warning me. I’ve always trusted Peach Blossom Base and considered them a brother base. I would never do anything to damage the bond between brothers!”

Wang Jun shook his head helplessly and changed the subject. ”Is Dawn Base preparing to relocate right now?”

”Of course. We’re already on the move,” Long Zhan confirmed with a decisive nod.

Ji Yizhi frowned slightly. ”Your fuel must be close to empty, right?”

”Doesn’t Xi’an Base still have some!” Long Zhan replied with a laugh. ”We’ll make do with it for now. Anyway, once the supply ships arrive, Peach Blossom Base will get us a batch of fuel!”

”You really trust Peach Blossom Base, don’t you!” Ji Yizhi shook his head, resigned.

They hadn’t even seen Peach Blossom Base’s fuel yet, but Long Zhan was already daring to bet everything on them. It seemed a bit reckless.

”Of course. Even if Peach Blossom Base doesn’t have fuel, it’s no loss for us. At the very least, our two bases will be closer!” Long Zhan replied nonchalantly. ”Besides, there’s no way Peach Blossom Base doesn’t have fuel!”

Wang Jun nodded. ”Mm, how are the patients over at Dawn Base doing now?”

”The first few patients who drank the herbal soup have already made a nearly full recovery!” Long Zhan replied with a smile. ”With Peach Blossom Base providing us with herbs, we don’t have to worry about the virus at all!”

Wang Jun nodded slightly. ”It seems all we need to do now is wait for the herbs to arrive!”
