Global Flood: I Survive on Duckweed

Chapter 301: Chapter 193: Second Base

Ren Yuanyang was taken aback for a moment, then replied, ”We do!”

”Good. We’ll take Dawn Base! But we’ll need to buy large quantities of fuel from your Peach Blossom Base in the future,” Wang Jun readily agreed.

”Of course!” Ren Yuanyang nodded. ”However, Dawn Base has connections to Xi’an Base. You need to be careful!”

”Mm, we will be,” Wang Jun said, about to end the conversation.

But Ren Yuanyang continued, ”If you really manage to take Dawn Base, you could develop it into your second base.”

Wang Jun paused in surprise again, then nodded. ”We’ll consider it!”

After ending the conversation, Wang Jun immediately summoned Ji Yizhi and Long Zhan and relayed the information Ren Yuanyang had just sent him.

”Damn it! Selling out our own people to another faction... Let me go this time. They’re just a bunch of disorganized troops. Taking Dawn Base will be a piece of cake!” Long Zhan slammed his hand on the table and shot to his feet.

Ji Yizhi shook his head slightly. ”Old Long, don’t be impulsive! Dawn Base might be disorganized, but Xi’an Base isn’t. Since those two are colluding, you have to factor Xi’an Base into your calculations!”

Wang Jun agreed. ”That’s right. But Xi’an Base must have used up a lot of energy to get to our area. They probably won’t send many ships to support Dawn Base!”

”Maybe their relationship isn’t even that strong!” Long Zhan said casually. ”Xi’an Base is probably just after Dawn Base’s population. If they find out Dawn Base is being attacked by our Aircraft Carrier Base, will they really spare no effort to support them?”

Ji Yizhi paused for a moment, then shook his head decisively. ”They definitely won’t!”

Before the flood, no country would have dared claim its forces could defeat the Dragon Country’s, and it’s the same now!

Xi’an Base would never go to war with the Aircraft Carrier Base over a place like Dawn Base!

”Well, there you have it. We just go over there and take Dawn Base,” Long Zhan said nonchalantly.

”That may be true, but we still need to be careful,” Wang Jun reminded him.

”Don’t worry. After fighting so many battles, I know at least that much!” Long Zhan replied with a smile. ”How many ships are we sending this time?”

”We’re dispatching half of our battleships, cruisers, destroyers, and frigates,” Wang Jun replied gravely after a moment of thought.

”Huh?”

Ji Yizhi and Long Zhan were both stunned.

”Old Wang, we’re just fighting some disorganized troops. Is it really necessary to take it so seriously?” Long Zhan asked, his face etched with confusion.

”Taoyuan Yang said one last thing: if we take Dawn Base, we can use it as our second base. What do you think he meant by that?” Wang Jun answered with a question of his own.

Long Zhan was taken aback, then replied, ”He probably wants us to have a backup plan? So that even if the Aircraft Carrier Base is destroyed, we have somewhere to fall back to?”

Ji Yizhi frowned and shook his head. ”He should know that no fleet would dare to attack the Aircraft Carrier Base easily. Yet he’s telling us to establish a second base at Dawn Base’s location... Could it be that Peach Blossom Base is somewhere nearby?”

Wang Jun nodded slightly. ”That’s what I was thinking, too. If that’s the case, our trade with Peach Blossom Base could become much more convenient. Plus, if anything happens to Peach Blossom Base, we’ll be able to provide support immediately!”

Long Zhan was stunned for a second, then asked in surprise, ”Really? Then let’s just take an aircraft carrier over there!”

Ji Yizhi looked at him, exasperated. ”It’s not like you don’t know that our fuel has been low ever since our three fleets rendezvoused. An aircraft carrier probably wouldn’t even make it to the destination before breaking down halfway. Are you planning to paddle your way there?”

Long Zhan faltered, then chuckled. ”That’s true... But moving so many other ships will also consume a lot of fuel, won’t it? After we go and capture Dawn Base, we’ll probably have no mobility left!”

Wang Jun smiled and replied, ”Don’t worry. I’ve already asked Taoyuan Yang. Their base has plenty of fuel, and they’ll sell it to us then.”

”That’s great! We don’t have to worry about running out of fuel at all!” Long Zhan said happily.

”So, does everyone now agree to dispatching half of our fleet?” Wang Jun asked again.

”Agreed!” Ji Yizhi and Long Zhan replied in unison.

Wang Jun immediately called over an aide and relayed the order.

”Actually, there’s something I don’t get,” Long Zhan began, frowning slightly. ”Peach Blossom Base should be quite powerful. Why don’t they take Dawn Base themselves?”

Ji Yizhi mused for a moment before analyzing the situation. ”Peach Blossom Base has plant-based weaponry, but its range is limited. Against modern artillery, their disadvantage is obvious. Unless they can close the distance right at the start of a battle, it’ll be a very tough fight for them!”

Realization dawned on Long Zhan, and he nodded. ”No wonder they haven’t been able to take Dawn Base!”

Ji Yizhi frowned. ”Sending so many ships over will probably consume eighty percent of our current fuel reserves. If fuel production at Peach Blossom Base can’t keep up, our mobility will be severely compromised.”

”I have faith in Peach Blossom Base, and even more so in Taoyuan Yang,” Wang Jun replied with a smile. ”Besides, Peach Blossom Base wants the seeds from the River Bird Fleet and the various animals from our base. They’ll need to have enough fuel to support the trade between us, right?”

Ji Yizhi was taken aback for a moment, then nodded.

If Peach Blossom Base wanted to continue trading with the Aircraft Carrier Base, fuel was an unavoidable obstacle. Only by overcoming this hurdle could their transactions run smoothly.

Wang Jun had made himself clear, and there was no way Ren Yuanyang wouldn’t understand this. The fact that he had agreed meant that Peach Blossom Base’s fuel supply must be virtually inexhaustible.
