Elevator Survival: Master of Every Floor

bomberLin Feng loaded five bullets into the cylinder, twirled the revolver in his hand; it was heavier than other revolvers, but still felt good.

He counted the bullets, including those in the gun, there were twenty in total.

It was a bit few, but given the gun’s power, he could probably take down the robots from earlier with at most two shots, so the bullet count was acceptable.

Besides these items, there was nothing else in the supply crate.

Lin Feng had just checked the expiration dates on the energy bars and emergency water; they had expired half a month ago.

However, eating them wouldn’t cause any problems; such food would be fine even if it expired for half a year, as long as the packaging was intact.

Just as Lin Feng was about to leave the building and continue exploring, the previously calm wind and sand suddenly intensified.

In just a few minutes, the world outside the house was engulfed by a sandstorm; going out now would be no different from seeking death.

So, Lin Feng had no choice but to rest temporarily in the building and thoroughly search for any usable items within the house.

............

The sandstorm lasted for about an hour; once it stopped outside, Lin Feng walked out of the house holding a map.

He had found this map in the house.

Although half of it was damaged, the good news was that Lin Feng could find his current location, Dragon Flower Street, on the other half of the map.

And through the map, he could see that directly across Dragon Flower Street was a police station, and about a kilometer from the police station was a shopping mall.

Having these two pieces of information was enough.

Next, Lin Feng planned to explore these two places.

He wanted to see if he could find any usable weapons in the police station, and then search for survival supplies in the shopping mall, as his current food and water would only last him for two days at most.

Although Lin Feng knew that in this wasteland environment, the items in shopping malls and police stations were highly likely to have been looted, if he was lucky, he might find something useful.

Buzz — — — — — — — —

A sound of a plane flying low came from behind Lin Feng; he looked up and saw an old, dilapidated plane flying at a low altitude. After it flew past Lin Feng, the bomb bay under its fuselage opened, and then black aerial bombs dropped one after another.

With the explosion of the aerial bombs, the already dilapidated street was once again covered with countless craters.

Lin Feng, hiding in the room, watched all of this dumbfounded.

He had thought the plane was dropping survival supplies.

He never expected that it was here to bomb this place.

Fortunately, the aerial bombs were light bombs, and the explosions were quite far from Lin Feng, so he wasn’t injured.

”Dodged another bullet....”

The bombing completed, the plane slowly turned its fuselage in the air, passed over Lin Feng again, and finally slowly disappeared into the vast yellow sand.

”What kind of a hellish world is this, anyway......”

After cautiously leaving the house, Lin Feng looked around; there shouldn’t be any more unexpected events now, he thought.

After confirming it was safe, Lin Feng immediately quickened his pace.

His original idea of just walking directly along the road was also dismissed.

If that bomber came cruising around again, he would have nowhere to hide on the road.

And so, Lin Feng began to traverse the ruins of the city.

With his parkour skills, the rugged terrain of the ruins didn’t pose much of a challenge to him.

Now, Lin Feng only hoped that the police station and the shopping mall had not been bombed.

While on the move, Lin Feng also searched for useful items in the ruins, ultimately only finding a handy solid steel rod.

The steel rod was about fifty to sixty centimeters long, with a radius of one centimeter, and a slight curve.

Its power when swung was quite astonishing.

Half an hour later, Lin Feng looked at the map in his hand, then at the ruins in front of him, and sighed deeply.

According to the markings on the map, these ruins were the police station.

Now, there wasn’t even a single intact brick left.

He didn’t know how many times it had been bombed.

However, the good news was that the shopping mall had not turned into ruins; he could clearly see the dilapidated shopping mall from here.

After running all the way, Lin Feng successfully entered the first floor of the mall.

The interior of the mall was in utter disarray, with broken drainage pipes, collapsed ceilings, and stairs.

Through a blurry sign, Lin Feng was barely able to deduce the mall’s layout.

The first floor was where daily necessities, food, drinks, and medicine were sold; the second floor was for affordable clothing; the third floor was the high-end clothing area; the fourth floor was the entertainment and leisure area; and the fifth floor was the restaurant.

Evidently, the first floor was very much worth searching for Lin Feng.

Unfortunately, despite Lin Feng’s almost carpet-like search, he only found a bottle of povidone-iodine, three boxes of band-aids, a pack of gauze, a disposable syringe, and a pack of emergency hemostatic agents.

As for food, he didn’t even see a crumb; it was clear it had been looted long ago.

After putting the collected medicines into his pocket, Lin Feng took the escalator to the second floor.

The second floor was the clothing area; he should be able to find a backpack there.

Arriving on the second floor, Lin Feng breathed a sigh of relief; the clothing area was relatively well-preserved.

At least he could still see a few clothes; if he couldn’t find a backpack, he could make one out of these clothes.

Just as Lin Feng was searching for a backpack on the second floor, a small robot slowly moved out of the restroom.

This robot didn’t walk on two legs but used treads.

However, it did have two flexible robotic arms.

When it saw Lin Feng arriving on the second floor, its eyes emitted a blue light.

”Scan complete, Protocol Two, Protect.”

At this moment, Lin Feng didn’t know that a mini combat robot was observing him from a nearby corner.

”Camping bag! Haha, nice, finally found it.”

Looking at the large capacity camping bag in his hand, Lin Feng joyfully put it on.

Then he put many relatively clean clothes inside.

Just as he was about to continue exploring the third floor, he suddenly heard a creaking sound.

His joyful expression instantly turned serious; he held his revolver and slowly walked towards the source of the sound.

”Creak... Creak....”

The sound kept getting closer, and Lin Feng also stopped, hiding behind a shelf, quietly waiting for the owner of the sound to arrive.

”Protocol Two, Protect.”

”Hello, sir.”

A mechanical voice came, and Lin Feng did not shoot when he saw the robot slowly appearing. Firstly, his danger perception was not triggered, and secondly, he did not see any weapons on this small robot.

”Hello, sir, I am a domestic service robot, model ZC101. You can also call me 101.”
