Elevator Survival: Master of Every Floor

Giant white wolfAccompanied by the goat’s frightened bleats, Lin Feng punched its neck.

Soon, the goat twitched a few times under Lin Feng before losing its breath.

After confirming its death, Lin Feng carried the goat’s carcass and quickly returned to the camp, processing the body by the firelight.

As for whether the smell of blood would attract other wild beasts?

Lin Feng thought, ’Since they’re here, they might as well stay.’

Because the tools were not handy, it took quite some time to process the goat’s carcass.

Ultimately, Lin Feng spent an entire night cutting all the meat into strips and turning them into jerky.

This allowed for long-term storage, and these dried meats would probably be enough for Lin Feng to eat for two to three days.

All the edible internal organs and the head meat were eaten by him for breakfast, and the goatskin was peeled off and laid out in the sun to dry; it could then be spread on the bed to make it softer and warmer.

Now with water and food, survival became simpler. Lin Feng planned to thoroughly explore the mountain forest for a few days.

Perhaps he could even discover things that would improve his quality of life.

There was also one thing that greatly puzzled Lin Feng: why were there so few large creatures in this place?

Even the smell of blood from him dissecting the goat last night didn’t attract predators like wild wolves.

Carrying his self-made wooden spear and some food and water, Lin Feng entered the jungle.

The water container was made from the goat’s stomach; after cleaning it, tying a knot at the bottom of the intestines allowed it to hold a good amount of water.

Although it tasted a bit strange when he drank it, that was due to the limited conditions.

Soon, Lin Feng followed the stream deep into the mountain forest.

What Lin Feng found eerie was that there wasn’t even the sound of birds in this place.

Just then, his danger perception skill activated, and Lin Feng’s body instantly dodged to the side.

The next moment, a white wolf nearly the height of a human appeared before him.

”Roar!!”

The white wolf, whose sneak attack failed, roared at Lin Feng, then lunged again. Lin Feng didn’t have time to think and thrust the wooden spear in his hand forcefully at the charging white wolf.

However, something unexpected happened to Lin Feng.

The wooden spear instantly broke, and the spot where the white wolf was stabbed only left a small wound.

”Holy crap! Is its hide that tough??”

”Roar!!”

Seeing the white wolf charging at him again, Lin Feng quickly ran backward, using a large tree behind him to perform a backflip and successfully mount the white wolf.

The white wolf’s size was similar to a Little Velociraptor, even slightly larger, and it had very thick fur.

So Lin Feng found it quite comfortable to ride.

”Roar!!!”

”Shut up!”

Slap!

Lin Feng slapped it directly.

Lin Feng used about sixty percent of his strength in this slap, which completely stunned the white wolf.

After staggering a few steps in place, it collapsed to the ground with a thud.

”Uh....”

It... it just died?

Lin Feng scratched his head.

He then checked the white wolf’s breathing; there was still a faint breath. Seeing this, Lin Feng did not hesitate to finish it off.

Originally, he had wanted to try and tame the white wolf so he would have a hunting helper for these few days.

But upon careful thought, he realized it was somewhat impossible.

After all, this kind of wild beast that had lived in the wild for a long time was completely untamable, and even if it could be tamed, it wouldn’t be done in a few days.

So, it was better to just get more jerky to eat.

Bang!

With one punch, the white wolf was truly gone this time.

This time, Lin Feng did not choose to return to the camp to process the body, but rather dismembered it on the spot.

Although the meat of carnivores is not very tasty, the texture is too tough and too acidic, which can cause internal heat if eaten too much, wolf meat is acceptable if the gamey smell is handled well, it’s just that the texture might be a bit off.

However, Lin Feng had no seasonings, so he could only try to remove the gamey smell by smoking it.

Moreover, if Lin Feng remembered correctly, wolf meat seemed to have medicinal properties.

After spending some time packaging the wolf meat, Lin Feng returned to the camp to begin smoking it.

After processing, the time reached two or three in the afternoon.

After eating lunch and adding firewood, Lin Feng once again entered the mountain forest.

This mountain forest was definitely not simple.

Otherwise, how could there be a white wolf of such a large size?

Continuing deeper into the mountain forest, Lin Feng noticed that the leaves here became increasingly lush, to the point where sunlight couldn’t even penetrate later on, making it no different from nighttime.

To continue exploring further inside, he would need some kind of lighting.

Helpless, Lin Feng had no choice but to retrace his steps.

Looking at the time, it was already evening, so he could only explore this place again tomorrow.

Upon returning to the camp, Lin Feng used animal fat, dried grass scraps, and branches to make ten torches, preparing for tomorrow’s exploration of the mountain forest.

Additionally, he also re-made a long spear using the white wolf’s huge fangs.

The white wolf’s fangs were about ten centimeters long and very sharp, making them perfect as a spearhead when fixed to a wooden stick.

After completing it, Lin Feng swung it a few times and felt it was quite good.

After eating, the originally bright sky suddenly turned gloomy.

”It’s going to rain.”

Lin Feng frowned, judging by the look of it, this rain would be quite heavy.

He hoped his tent would survive the night safely.

Returning to his tent, Lin Feng lay on his comfortable large bed and slowly closed his eyes.

Boom!

Just then, several flashes of lightning appeared, and in an instant, the sound of rain merged into a roaring cacophony. The sky seemed to crack open with countless fissures, and the torrential rain poured down like a waterfall onto the earth.

Lin Feng, lying in the tent, touched the roof; it was good, no leaks.

The thick moss laid on the outermost layer was clearly the biggest contributor.

However, the situation at the bonfire was not optimistic.

Although Lin Feng had already laid stones at the bottom and around the bonfire, the rain was simply too heavy.

The flames in the bonfire shrank and shrank.

Finally, only a fist-sized flame remained.

But fortunately, the flame did not completely extinguish.

After adding some dry firewood to the flame to help it burn, Lin Feng yawned and drifted off to a light sleep.

In this environment, he dared not sleep too deeply.

.........

Soon, it was the latter half of the night. Just as Lin Feng was about to fall into a deep sleep, he suddenly woke up with a start.

He thought he had heard the sound of stepping in water just now?

Did he mishear?

Lin Feng wondered, the torrential rain was still pouring outside.

The sound was very noisy, maybe he was dreaming?

”Sigh, my nerves are a bit too tense. With my strength, what is there to fear? Sleep, sleep~”

Just as Lin Feng was about to go back to sleep, his heart suddenly accelerated.

The next moment, a bone arrow grazed his hair as it flew past.

Lin Feng’s reaction was also very quick; he grabbed his long spear and rolled out of the tent.
