After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 1242: Chapter 1246: Your Guard Is Way Too Low

Looking at Leng Zirui’s handsome face so close to hers and his slightly lowered long lashes, feeling his warm fingers pinching her chin, Xu Xia inexplicably felt a panic in her heart.

Helping her wipe off the oil stain that wasn’t cleaned properly, he pinched her chin and observed both sides, making sure there were no more oil stains on her face. Only then did Leng Zirui withdraw his fingers holding the tissue.

”Can’t even tell left from right, and yet someone with your IQ managed to get a driver’s license?”

He tossed the tissue into the trash can, expecting to hear her retort, but surprisingly didn’t hear her talk back.

Leng Zirui turned his face and just happened to see her staring at him with a strange expression, dazed. He narrowed his eyes slightly and moved his face closer to hers, ”Hey, what are you spacing out for?!”

Xu Xia snapped back to reality and immediately averted her gaze, ”You’re the one spacing out!”

Leng Zirui was in a good mood and didn’t argue with her.

The two of them got back into the car, and Leng Zirui drove towards the apartment where she lived.

”What time tomorrow night?” Leng Zirui asked while driving.

”It starts at eight, just come pick me up at seven!” Xu Xia yawned and leaned tiredly against the seat.

The car drove straight ahead. She remained silent all the way. At a red light stop, Leng Zirui turned his face suspiciously to see her eyes closed, nestled between the car door and the seat, already falling asleep.

”Daring to fall asleep next to a ’stallion’ like me, your vigilance is way too low!”

Leng Zirui shook his head helplessly. Seeing her hugging herself, he raised an eyebrow, reached out to the back seat to grab his coat, draped it over her, leaned over to fasten her seatbelt, and then continued driving forward.

The car drove into Apartment No. 9 where Xu Xia lived. Leng Zirui stopped the car downstairs at her place, turned to look, and saw Xu Xia breathing steadily, sleeping soundly, showing no signs of waking up.

”Hey, stop sleeping!”

He gently tapped her arm. Xu Xia wrinkled her brow with her eyes still closed, turned her face to the side, and continued to sleep.

Leng Zirui, helpless, reached over again, shaking her arm, ”Time to get up!”

”Five minutes, just... five minutes... I haven’t slept for two days...”

Xu Xia mumbled groggily, turning her body, curling up into a ball on the car seat.

Having stayed up for two or three days, finally getting to sleep comfortably was something she had forgotten about being in the car, no way was she willing to wake up.

Light from outside streamed in through the car window onto her face, showing clear fatigue between her slightly messy curls.

”Forget it, I’ll be benevolent to the end and take you home!”

Leng Zirui opened the door to get out, walked to her side, grabbed her bag from the back, found the key, opened the front car door, unbuckled her seatbelt carefully, and lifted her out of the car, closed the door with his foot, carried her into the building, and walked into the elevator.

The light in the elevator was too bright, causing Xu Xia to instinctively shrink towards his chest. Leng Zirui noticed her small gesture and turned to block the light with his body.

Arriving at her apartment door, he held her while unlocking it, carried her into the bedroom, and placed her on the pillow.

He helped her take off her shoes, covered her with a light blanket, and adjusted her head with his hand.

The curtains were open, allowing the outside light to cast a faint glow in the room, illuminating her face. Leng Zirui stopped and stared unconsciously.

In his memory, she always seemed to be scowling at him. It was the first time he saw her so quiet.

With a slightly tilted head, Leng Zirui took a careful look at her face.
