After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 1240: Chapter 1244: You Are the Empress Dowager Old Buddha

Sucking up for no reason, either a traitor or a thief!

This guy always seems to deliberately go against her whenever he sees her, and now he’s actually inviting her to dinner and giving her chocolates. It’s obvious he wants something from her.

”The one who understands me is Xu Xia!” Leng Zirui laughed as he leaned in. ”I heard there’s an international film festival tomorrow, you’re definitely going, right? Take me with you!”

These past few days, he’s been eavesdropping on Tang Ming and Seo Fei, knowing they’re going to attend this international film festival. Leng Zirui suspects this event might be related to Cobra, which made him want to sneak in to investigate.

He’s not part of the entertainment circle, going directly would be too conspicuous.

Naturally, Leng Zirui thought of Xu Xia. Last time he attended the press conference as her ”boyfriend,” this time, if he appeared with her, it would make perfect sense and raise no suspicions.

So, he hurried to EM, sent away Xu Xia’s agent Lan Zi and assistant Xiao Gao, just to find a way to get her to take him to the film festival.

Xu Xia chewed on the chocolate, looking at him suspiciously, ”What are you up to again?”

He’s not part of the entertainment circle, why does he keep inserting himself into it for no reason?!

”I heard a lot of foreign superstars and beauties will be there this time. You know, I love the type with... generous proportions.” Leng Zirui puffed out his chest, tracing an exaggerated curve in the air with his hand. ”It’s a rare opportunity, help me out!”

Xu Xia rolled her eyes, ”Filthy!”

Leng Zirui winked at her, trying to win her favor, ”At worst, I’ll loan you my Battle Shield for a week.”

”A month!” Xu Xia demanded boldly.

”Two months!” Leng Zirui laughed, pulling another chocolate from the bouquet, peeling it, and offering it to her. ”How about this, am I a good buddy or what?”

”Stallion!” Xu Xia cursed disdainfully, ignoring the chocolate he offered, she snatched the whole bouquet from him and stepped towards the elevator.

Leng Zirui chuckled, tossed the peeled chocolate into his mouth, and followed her out.

Xu Xia heard his footsteps, paused, and turned to look at him, ”Why are you still following me?”

”Of course, I’ll do a good deed to the end and take you home!” Leng Zirui nodded towards his nearby SUV, ”Get in the car. Lan Zi and Xiao Gao have left; you’re such a big star, are you really planning to take a taxi home?”

It’s already late, and as a girl, he felt uneasy letting her go alone.

After all, the matter started because of him, Xu Xia’s assistant and agent were sent away by him, he has to bear some responsibility for her.

Xu Xia rolled her eyes at him but still opened the car door and sat in the passenger seat.

Leng Zirui sat in the driver’s seat, started the car, and drove out of the parking lot.

Sitting lazily in the passenger seat, Xu Xia said, ”Gui Street!”

”Why go there?” Leng Zirui asked in confusion.

”Duh, to eat of course!” Xu Xia shot him a glance, ”Weren’t you going to be a good guy to the end?”

To record this movie theme song, she had spent the whole day in the recording studio. Having had a boxed meal at seven, several hours had passed and she was already hungry. She originally planned to go eat with Lan Zi and Xiao Gao after the session, but ended up being dispatched by him. Who else would she ask to join her for dinner? Is she supposed to go home and eat instant noodles?!

”At your command!” Leng Zirui turned the car right, ”Tonight, you are the Empress Dowager Old Buddha; whatever you say goes!”
