I Am Your Natural Enemy

Upon hearing his boss’s words, the elderly man standing aside hesitated for a moment and then spoke.

”Boss, with Old Meng’s abilities, he will certainly be detained in the holding facility of the Scorching Sun Department.

The power we can mobilize in the Divine Land likely cannot get the person out from there.

Or, we can only use the pieces we placed beforehand; there might be a slim chance.”

The elderly man spoke as tactfully as possible.

He originally wanted to say that the chances of breaking someone out from there can be ignored.

Even if all the secret pieces are used, that probability is still approximately negligible.

The young man raised his head, his face filled with shock.

”Why would you think I want you to break into a prison?

Go into the heart of the Divine Land, to the most tightly secured facility and break a prison?

Are you all mad?

Or do you think I’m mad?”

”I’m sorry, boss, I misunderstood.” The elderly man immediately bowed his head, realizing at once that he had thought wrong.

But it wasn’t entirely his fault for thinking so, given the recent actions had been in that style indeed.

Especially since it involved Old Meng, it’s understandable he thought that way.

He had even wanted to advise the boss a moment ago to change the approach, as breaking into a prison was not a suitable priority option.

The young man watched the elderly man bow his head and sighed, not blaming his subordinate.

He had indeed been overly eager for quick success lately, but such an opportunity was rare.

Without the larger environment as a reason, he could not have caused such massive fluctuations in Gold’s value on such a scale.

Missing this opportunity, he couldn’t tell if similar ones will ever appear in the coming decades.

Especially with the situation where physical gold and paper gold started showing rising and falling prices respectively.

Given the current global situation, this is a once-in-a-lifetime chance, he must seize it even in death.

After contemplating for a moment, the young man said.

”Don’t rush to do anything, continue investigating the details, if necessary, you can utilize the secret pieces.”

A few hours later, a video with low clarity ended up in the young man’s hands.

He saw Old Meng returning from the Void, covered in blood, his dog completely unconscious, and after Old Meng fell out, he collapsed on the ground, life uncertain, only to be discovered by a passing pedestrian several minutes later, who called for help.

The pedestrian was just a normal resident in the neighborhood, very easy to verify.

Upon verifying again, it could be confirmed there were no issues, Old Meng indeed was tough, surviving such ordeal.

It’s confirmed here again, Old Meng has been taken into custody, and even his dogs were taken away.

He hasn’t been sent to the holding facility yet but is already in the process.

Right now seems like the best chance, but they haven’t lost their minds, so capturing people in Yu State is harder than breaking into a holding facility.

The young man sighed inwardly, this time it can basically be confirmed.

He knows Old Meng well, especially after these months of secretly observing and understanding Old Meng’s temperament.

Having suffered such a loss, with Old Meng’s character, he is unlikely to let this go quietly.

While in the Divine Land, Old Meng was quite restrained, but once outside, he was like a mad dog.

He was very sure that, with Old Meng’s temperament, if possible, he would surely retaliate fiercely in Nanyang.

The Scorching Sun Department had long wanted to capture Old Meng, but within their priorities, Old Meng’s priority wasn’t high, so they’d been keeping him hanging.

Before Old Meng collaborated with the Department’s traitors to purchase a Devil’s Body, the Scorching Sun Department wasn’t too keen to spend much effort on Old Meng.

Now that he’s caught, it’s going to be tough for him.

Looking at the intelligence content, Old Meng’s priority is low, the young man thought for a moment.

”Low priority...

Utilize the secret pieces, and release the news about Old Meng being caught publicly, letting those who need to know find out.

Old Meng should have made quite a few acquaintances over the years.

See if there are suitable people who can make some interest exchange under their name.

Try to get Old Meng out quickly, get him to Nanyang.”

...

Old Meng’s injuries are naturally real, as only real injuries can fool others.

Of course, such superficial wounds are nothing to him, once he wakes up, he can easily recover most of it by taking some medicine.

The truly serious injuries resulted from using special tools, sharing half of his old friend’s injuries, which are indistinguishable under examination by anyone.

He’s doing this because Wen Yan has already forcibly expelled the Different Races’ power within his old friend, thus the injury is just an injury without ongoing persistence, hindrance to recovery, or wickedness.

Once a step is taken, the subsequent events are no longer Old Meng’s choice.

He was detained by the Scorching Sun Department following protocol, and after treating his injuries for only two days, confirming his physical condition had no major issues, he was moved to the holding facility.

He was in the transfer vehicle, and when he got out, he was already in the holding facility’s courtyard.

Old Meng had been to many places, but never here, even when passing by, he would circumvent the area fearing a mishap causing him to fall into the Void and drop straight into here.

Today he finally arrived, feeling the power here, he is suppressed very strongly, trying to make a stand here, he cannot open a passage for non-coordinate traversal.

Upon sensing carefully, Old Meng roughly understood that the suppression effect here is extremely strong.

There seems to be a special power that integrates the power of those or things suppressed here, turning it into suppressive power adversely suppressing people.
