I Am Your Natural Enemy

Wen Yan furrowed his brow slightly.

”You mean, the attack you encountered in America earlier might be related to them?”

Given the situation at the time, the only suitable place for Old Meng to go was indeed Nanyang.

”There’s an eighty percent chance that it’s related. Perhaps the only thing that didn’t fit into their plan was that their Rich got caught.

They conveniently looked for me to be the new Rich. This kind of reasoning is most plausible and irrefutable.

Even if I got attacked in Nanyang, they could explain it away by saying the act wasn’t performed well.

After all, there would always be a way to make me not suspect that their motive is genuinely just to kill me.

Previously, they pushed a Manager out as a scapegoat, and truly punished him.

I almost believed their nonsense.

At that time, I hadn’t found anything yet, so I thought there was no conflict of interest between us.

Who would have thought that they went through such hoops simply for robbery.”

”...”

Wen Yan looked at Old Meng’s gnashing teeth with some speechlessness.

Just listening to him, Wen Yan could barely keep composure.

Indeed, only among peers can there be such naked hatred.

At this point, it’s no longer about asking Old Meng for help; it’s about Old Meng seeking revenge.

Given Old Meng’s personality, after being ambushed in Europa last time, he narrowly avoided getting lost in the Void, then went to stir things up for several months.

Recently, while Wen Yan was browsing forums on his phone, he saw someone mention that recently, people in Europa are saying the Church, after Twilight of the Gods, with Dawn of the Gods approaching, has become like a man-eating tiger that has lost its teeth and claws.

It still looks huge and terrifying, but in fact, its strength has long waned.

Back then, it was ferocious; when the Witch forces rose, they said burn, and it was burnt. They could even force a Prophetess Witch who knew she was going to die, yet couldn’t escape, only waiting quietly at home for people to come.

And now, a Witch gathered a group of women and protested outside the Church’s base, and the Church didn’t dare to make a sound.

They even had to send a few people to secretly protect the Witch’s safety, lest she died at the rally, turning it into a muddy mess that couldn’t be justified.

Previously, similar comments existed, but they were small ripples barely noticeable, unlike now, where they have become a trend.

Ironically, the timing of this comment coincided precisely with the time Old Meng went for revenge.

Wen Yan isn’t saying Old Meng did it, but there’s definitely some contribution from him.

After Old Meng stirred things up, he slightly bridged some gaps, leading many who wanted to fish in troubled waters, and many fanning the flames, causing a series of chain reactions.

Vampires were charging, with Black Wizards secretly summoning souls of little boys under the church.

Reports surfaced that a crucial ingredient in a certain cosmetic was alive-cut from a type of creature, with continuation cuts after regrowth, stepping on a politically correct sore spot, leading to a church base being besieged.

At that time, the church people didn’t dare to do anything, with dozens of cameras pointing their way. Live broadcast trucks parked beside them, ensuring anything they did would be broadcast worldwide in seconds.

The local enforcement agency tried to intervene, but it turned into a riot, ending with the local chief taking the fall, his house windows smashed, and the door sprayed with paint.

Truth be told, in Europa, their mobilization ability is indeed strong in these aspects.

Lately, they’ve been more ruthless, filming the soul-summoned little boy, letting him lament his life experiences.

Unfortunately, though a TV station dared to air this footage, before its broadcast, it was repressed, and the footage itself circulated, confused by people into a satirical special effect clip.

If it weren’t for Old Meng, Wen Yan wouldn’t pay much attention to these things. Now, he browses forums for leisure, discovering many jokers there, with banned content in Europa available in original video format on forums.

Truthfully, just by watching the videos, Wen Yan feels that the Black Wizards in Europa have some skills; their soul-summoning is top-notch, though it’s unclear how they do it.

Now, seeing Old Meng seemingly getting a bit fierce, Wen Yan pondered for a moment, then said.

”To be honest, I think you shouldn’t go to Nanyang; something doesn’t feel right.”

”I can’t swallow this anger.”

”Isn’t it possible that they know you can’t swallow this anger and will definitely go to Nanyang? Those guys have schemed against you, and it’s likely not something from just recent days or months.”

”...”

Old Meng got startled in his heart, pondering, yes, those people understood his reactions thoroughly. Isn’t this situation within their expectations?

”Why don’t I find you a safe place to hide and cool down for a while?”

”Where can I hide?”

”Hide in the detention center of the Scorching Sun Department; I know the warden there.”

”Uh...” Old Meng gently took a breath; can hiding be done this way?

”Given the current situation, you’d better not go anywhere. I just had a feeling; I tend to trust my intuition.

If you were to hide in the Divine Land, I wouldn’t think it’s particularly safe either.

The most suitable place is to go straight to the detention center of the Scorching Sun Department.

That way, when the Scorching Sun Department engages in verbal battles with outsiders, they can speak more confidently.

You are one of our Divine Land people; no matter how we retreat, it’s absolutely impossible to extradite you outside.
