’Black Dragon’ Nemosin.

It was obviously a domineering name. Especially within a gargantuan entity like the Ashford Family, one would need more than a little confidence and skill to dare use such a title while facing the experts of the Dark World across Europe and the entire globe. Hearing it, even Chen Fei couldn’t help but narrow his eyes slightly. I wonder if this so-called ’Black Dragon’ Nemosin is stronger or weaker than Jack the Blade, whom I killed, or that old man from the Nuo Deng Family.

”Ah, this is becoming a bit troublesome,” he sighed softly, shaking his head. He didn’t understand why those old powers in the West would covet items left behind by the ancient cultivators of Huaxia. Theoretically, shouldn’t those things be useless to them?

But now, what is this situation? Sigh… The thought alone gave Chen Fei a headache.

”My dear Chen.”

Just then, Pierce Earl’s hesitant voice came through the receiver. He paused for a moment before biting the bullet. ”…My dear Chen, you should know that I am just a minor Earl in the Saint Laurent Family. The level of the great and noble Lord Duke is far too remote and terrifying for me. So, I think… if that item isn’t overly important, it would be best to let it go. After all, such great and noble beings are ones we can only look up to. How could we dare to offend them?”

As he spoke, Pierce Earl revealed his truest thoughts. In the world of the Blood Clan, the hierarchy was starkly rigid. The Ashford Family was an esteemed Mafia Great Family, far stronger than his own Saint Laurent Family. Furthermore, he was facing a Duke—a rank two full Great Realms above his own as an Earl. Such a being was someone Pierce could only look up to in awe. How could he dare, or even be qualified, to provoke such an entity?

”Respected Pierce, rest assured, I have my own considerations,” Chen Fei replied with a smile, having clearly heard the good intentions in the Earl’s voice. However, he made no further mention of the Jade Artifacts or the Ashford Family’s elder, ’Black Dragon’ Nemosin. This left Pierce silent on the other end of the line for a long time.

”…Oh, my dear Chen, perhaps you are even more mysterious than I originally thought.”

After a long pause, Pierce finally shook his head and managed a strained smile. ”By the Blood Ancestor, I hope everything turns out well. In that case, I’ll hang up now. I can’t help with the Ashford Family matter, but the Antonio and Braswevinch Families… they don’t have the gall to act so recklessly in front of me, in front of our Saint Laurent Family. I will make them give you an answer on this matter.”

”Alright, thank you for your trouble, Earl Pierce,” Chen Fei responded with a smile.

”My dear Chen, you’re being too polite. It’s really a trivial matter,” Pierce replied, though he felt a tinge of embarrassment. ”We’ll be in touch later.”

After all, the one thing Chen Fei truly needed his help with was beyond his capabilities. He could only busy himself with these minor issues, which left a bitter taste in his mouth.

At the very least, I, Pierce, am a noble Earl of the Saint Laurent Family, the controller of one of the world’s top four luxury goods corporations, right? But he is simply too fearsome: the Ashford Family’s elder, Lord ’Black Dragon’ Nemosin! Thinking of this, he couldn’t help but feel a surge of frustration, and his resentment toward those idiots from the Antonio and Braswevinch Families deepened. You pack of fools! Daring to provoke a mysterious and powerful man from Huaxia like Chen… have you got your eyes in the back of your head? Utterly foolish! You don’t know your own limits!

”Brother Fei… Brother Fei, what does your friend in Italy do? Can he really save my brother?” Gu Feishuang asked anxiously just as the call ended. Women are naturally more prone to anxiety, and Gu Feishuang was especially timid. Even though Chen Fei had been assuring her that everything was fine, she couldn’t help but panic, afraid her brother would get hurt because of her.

”What does he do?”

The question put Chen Fei in a bit of a bind. He didn’t know if Gu Feishuang had ever heard of Pierce. Besides, he couldn’t just tell her that the person he called was an Earl from one of Italy’s five great Mafia families and the current head of the Saint Laurent Group, Pierce. Stating it so plainly would sound… strange.

Seeing his predicament, the astute Sister Li nudged Gu Feishuang with her foot. It was obvious to her that Chen Fei was hesitant to answer, so it was best not to press the issue.

Besides, no matter which friend in Italy Mr. Chen had called, it was surely better than them running around like headless chickens. This was Mr. Chen, a man before whom even the Ma Family, one of Hong Kong’s Five Great Tycoon Families, was respectful and fearful. The power wielded by such a prominent figure was far beyond what minor characters like them could ever question.

After the nudge from her manager, Sister Li, Gu Feishuang finally snapped back to her senses. Her face flushed with panic as she hastily apologized to Chen Fei. ”Brother Fei, Brother Fei, I’m sorry! I-I wasn’t doubting you, it’s just that I…”

”Don’t worry, it’s really fine,” Chen Fei said, shaking his head. He even offered an explanation. ”My friend in Italy has a… unique status, so you probably wouldn’t recognize his name anyway. Let’s just wait a bit. We should have news soon.”

Meanwhile, in Milan, Italy, a vast and astonishing force silently and swiftly swept across the city.

As one of the five great Mafia families in Italy’s Dark World, the Saint Laurent Family’s resources and power were beyond question. Even government officials kept a respectful distance, to say nothing of a simple task like gathering information. In some respects, not even Italy’s own National Security Agency could operate with the efficiency of these Mafia families. They were the true, uncrowned kings of this land’s darkness!

In a mere ten minutes, a full report was laid out before Pierce Earl. It detailed how Gu Feishuang’s younger brother had gotten into a brawl with local thugs in Milan, how he was swiftly taken to the police station, and all the machinations hidden behind the incident.

The whole affair was simply that Itak, after being thwarted by Chen Fei, couldn’t contain his rage. He contacted his cousin, Bruce Antonio, to set a trap in retaliation. Using the Antonio Family’s influence in Milan, they had Gu Feishuang’s brother, Wang Tai, arrested. The goal was to use him as leverage to make her submit.

”Lust-addled scum!” Pierce Earl cursed, a murderous glint in his eyes. He dialed the Saint Laurent Family’s representative in Dubai, whose men had already apprehended Itak and Bruce. ”Throw those two fools into the sea to feed the sharks,” he said coolly. ”Also, teach the Antonio and Braswevinch families a lesson. Make sure they remember that not just anyone is someone they can afford to provoke.”

”Yes, Pierce Earl,” a respectful voice replied from the other end of the line.

Hearing this, Pierce hung up. After a moment’s hesitation, he dialed another number. Once it connected, he spoke slowly. ”Hello, it’s me, Pierce. I want you to immediately review the schedules of our group’s top female brand ambassadors. Replace all of them with a female star from Huaxia named Gu Feishuang.”

”Wh-what!? Lord Pierce, are you serious?” the person on the other end stammered, clearly taken aback. ”I believe I recall the woman you mentioned. She doesn’t have much international fame. Besides, if we replace the current ambassadors, we’ll incur significant contract termination fees.”

”Do you think I’m discussing this with you? Or are you questioning my decision, Tovitch?” Pierce Earl’s voice, however, became notably colder.

”No, I wouldn’t dare! Respected Lord Pierce Earl, you know that’s not what I meant,” the man on the other end sputtered, breaking into a cold sweat.

Pierce Earl’s voice remained cold, but he offered a slight, pointed explanation. ”If you wouldn’t dare, then do as I say, immediately. Do you think our Saint Laurent Group is short on money? Or do you think I, Pierce, have lost my mind and would do something like this for no reason?”

”This, I… Yes! Lord Pierce, I understand. I’ll get to it right away.” The person on the other end of the line paused for a long moment, as if something had finally clicked. His tone immediately became serious as he gave his assurance.

That’s right, the Saint Laurent Group isn’t short on money, so what are some contract termination fees? There must be a profound reason for Lord Pierce to suddenly make such a move. Perhaps it involves some astonishingly powerful figure or faction. Compared to such an existence, money is nothing, not even worth mentioning.

With this realization, the man didn’t dare delay another second. Drenched in sweat, he began rapidly dialing one number after another.

…

A short while later, Chen Fei received a call from Pierce Earl. The latter spoke apologetically. ”My dear Chen, I am ashamed and disgraced by this incident. I’ve had those two idiots thrown into the sea to feed the sharks. Your friend’s brother has been released. The heads of the Antonio and Braswevinch families should be on their way to the police station to apologize to him personally.”

”Fed to the sharks? Alright… Thank you for handling this, Respected Pierce. The next time I visit Italy, we’ll have dinner together.” Chen Fei was stunned for a moment before shaking his head with a helpless, wry smile. He certainly hadn’t expected the man to be so ruthless… but that fellow got what he deserved.

”Of course. I will eagerly await that day,” Pierce replied with a laugh. Then, the two of them hung up.
