Medical Sage

”Mr. Itak, I don’t think my personal affairs require your excessive concern. After all, we’re just business associates, not even friends, are we?”

Hearing him audaciously muttering about her Brother Fei, the smile Gu Feishuang had been struggling to maintain on her pretty face completely fell. She looked at the tall, rich, and handsome foreigner before her and said distantly, ”Also, this ’barbarian’ you speak of happens to be my boyfriend! Mr. Itak, are you slandering my boyfriend? How disappointing. I never expected you to be this kind of person.”

”You... you... you said he’s your boyfriend!?”

At her words, the man’s expression changed, his handsome face darkening as he spoke coldly.

He couldn’t believe this minor celebrity dared to disrespect him, Itak, so blatantly, even playing him for a fool this openly. Boyfriend? Bullshit! Did she really think he couldn’t see through it? What a fucking whore.

Naturally, Chen Fei and Gu Feishuang had no idea what he was thinking. Seeing the foreigner’s expression turn grim at Gu Feishuang’s words, Chen Fei couldn’t help but let his lips curl into a smirk. He began to ’dutifully’ play his role, looking at the man and saying nonchalantly, ”Mr. Itak, is it? My name is Chen Fei. A pleasure.”

He’d wanted to get rid of this annoying fly from the start, so he couldn’t be bothered with etiquette. It wasn’t necessary.

”Hmph.”

Seeing Chen Fei’s casual attitude, the tall, rich, handsome foreigner felt a surge of anger. Yet, he managed to suppress it on the surface. Staring at Chen Fei with a somber face, he said, ”Although you are a barbarian, since you are Miss Fei Shuang’s friend, I suppose we can get acquainted. May I ask what line of work you’re in? And what is your annual salary?”

As he spoke, Itak couldn’t help but let his lips curl into a self-satisfied smirk.

After all, he, Itak, was one of the most outstanding young men of his generation in the family. He was the youngest executive CEO of a women’s clothing line under Prada, with an annual salary of several hundred thousand Euros. How could someone like Chen Fei—worthless, uncivilized, and dressed in ’rags’ in his eyes—possibly compare to him? It was obvious that by asking such a direct question, he was simply setting the stage to show off and thoroughly ridicule the barbarian from Huaxia!

”My job? My annual salary?”

Chen Fei’s lips quirked up in amusement, a flicker of mockery in his eyes. He chuckled and said, ”Heh, I’m a doctor. But I’m currently unemployed, something of a drifter. As for my annual salary... I don’t really know. I suppose I’ve received a few hundred million so far this year. Of course, that’s not in RMB, but in Euros.”

”A doctor? A few hundred million Euros?”

Of course, Itak didn’t believe such a ridiculous boast for a second. A few hundred million Euros? Did he think it was scrap paper?

His true colors showed immediately. He shot Chen Fei a look of intense scorn, the insults he had prepared spilling from his lips. ”A doctor? Heh, a person like you probably couldn’t even get into a decent-sized hospital, could you? And a few hundred million Euros? Do all you people of Huaxia love to daydream this much? Oh, Miss Fei Shuang, I’m not targeting you, but such irresponsible words from certain people are truly nauseating. This man does nothing but talk big and daydream. Do you really think he’s worthy of you? Stop the act. I can see he’s not your boyfriend at all.”

With that, he gave Chen Fei another look of disdain, tilting his head arrogantly as he sneered, ”You foolish oaf, don’t you feel out of place here? Do you have any idea who I am? Do you know what my job is? Do you know what my annual salary is?”

He jabbed a finger toward Chen Fei’s chest, his face a mask of contempt. ”I’ll tell you. My name is Itak Blaswenchi. Our Blaswenchi Family holds a fifty-one percent stake in the Prada brand. My current position is the company’s youngest executive CEO, with an annual salary of three hundred thousand Euros! So, in my presence, you’re no different from an African refugee, understand? Now get lost. Here’s two thousand Euros. That’s enough for you to scrape by for a few months. Stop making a fool of yourself.” He actually took out a wad of cash and threw it at Chen Fei.

”Itak, what are you doing...?”

At the sight, Gu Feishuang’s expression changed abruptly. She never expected the foreigner Itak would do such a thing—not only verbally humiliating Brother Fei, but actually throwing a stack of money in front of him. This was simply...

Others might not know how formidable Chen Fei was, but she knew perfectly well. Even the Ma Family, one of Macau’s Five Big Families, had trembled before Brother Fei, acting with the utmost caution. A core member of their direct lineage had merely taken a fancy to a minor star like her—a common enough occurrence in their circle—and the Ma Family themselves had personally broken his legs for it. They even came to her company later to make a grand, public apology to her.

With that in mind, it was glaringly obvious just how powerful and prestigious Brother Fei was. So how could some random foreigner be allowed to mock and humiliate him like this?

Just as she couldn’t stop herself from stepping forward to retort, Chen Fei chuckled and raised a hand to stop her. He glanced at the pile of money at his feet with a smile that wasn’t a smile, then slowly lifted his eyes to meet the other man’s. He said slowly, ”Two thousand Euros, huh? Quite generous. However, you’d better disappear from my sight right now. Otherwise, I can no longer guarantee your personal safety.” His eyes turned chilling as he stared at the other man.

Getting money thrown in my face again, huh? What a feeling...

”You... kid, your country has a saying: ’Don’t get too arrogant.’ To be too foolish to even pick up the money right in front of you,” Itak said coldly, shivering involuntarily at Chen Fei’s blunt threat as his eyes swept over him.

After saying this, he turned his gloomy gaze back to Gu Feishuang. ”Oh, the beautiful Miss Gu Feishuang,” he said coldly. ”To be honest, your actions today have deeply disappointed and dissatisfied me. Do you really think you can get rid of me by casually finding some barbarian to put on a show? Oh no, you’re mistaken. I, Itak, am a very persistent man, so I’m more than willing to play this little game with you.”

His lips suddenly curled into a mocking sneer. ”If I recall correctly, you have a younger brother attending university in Milan, Italy, don’t you? My apologies, but perhaps you don’t understand just how powerful and influential our Blaswenchi Family is in Milan. You might come to regret everything you’ve done today. Hmph!”

With that, he turned and strode away, his face sullen. At his words, Gu Feishuang’s expression changed drastically.

”Fei... Brother Fei, I’m so sorry. I never expected things to turn out like this. The man’s a complete hypocrite. If I had known, I never would have asked you to pretend to be my boyfriend.” She quickly masked the panic in her eyes, apologizing profusely to Chen Fei.

Clearly, she felt that for a prominent figure like Chen Fei to be so publicly insulted and humiliated was an absolute disgrace. Worse, it was all her fault, and she was overcome with guilt.

Romantic squabbles and posturing were normally no big deal. Even after having money thrown in his face, Chen Fei wasn’t truly angry and had planned to let it go. But for that foreigner to drop such a line before leaving... what did he mean? Was that a threat? A flicker of anger ignited within him.

Damn it. I let you off easy, and now you’re pushing your luck? Who the hell do you think you are?

”I... um... Brother Fei, it’s like this. I do have a cousin studying at a university in Milan, Italy. We’re quite close, and his family took good care of me when I was little. Do you think he’ll really go and cause trouble for my cousin?” Gu Feishuang asked, unable to hide her worry any longer.

Since Chen Fei had asked, there was no need to hide her alarm. She was genuinely frightened. The influence of the Blaswenchi Family in Milan was truly terrifying.

”Don’t worry, it’s nothing,” Chen Fei said at once. ”If he was just running his mouth, fine. But if he actually dares to use this to blackmail you and cause trouble for your cousin, you can leave it to me. If I don’t leave him unable to care for himself, then my name isn’t Chen Fei.”

What a joke. Italy? In this day and age, who in that country would dare defy the will of the Brad Family? Besides, the Saint Laurent Family alone would be more than enough to sanction that self-important fool. If he really wanted to try something, then let him. He would see who was unlucky in the end.

Despite Chen Fei’s words, Gu Feishuang couldn’t help but feel a flicker of doubt. This was Italy, Europe—not home. No matter how powerful Brother Fei was, could his reach really extend that far? Especially against the Blaswenchi Family, a ’dominant-level’ power in Milan with astonishing influence.

However, she was smart enough not to let any of this doubt show on her face. She simply smiled and shook her head. ”He probably doesn’t have that much audacity or authority, right? After all, our company is still cooperating with them. Let’s go, Brother Fei. We should get on the plane; I think we’re on the same flight.”

Meanwhile, the tall, rich, and handsome foreigner had already left the airport with a somber expression.
