Myriad Heavens: Rise of the Rune God

Chapter 205: Chapter 205: The Weight of the Heavens

Three days passed smoothly at the Prime Origin Academy, a massive, secluded stellar region designed to hide and protect humanity’s greatest geniuses. Runar and Celestia spent this time together, sparring lightly in the private training grounds. Runar held back his power immensely, but Celestia still marveled at his effortless grace. She noticed that even with his power suppressed, his presence felt fundamentally different. It was no longer just strong; it was deep, calm, and absolute. She playfully teased him about his new strange eyes and how she could feel he was staring through her. And Runar noted to himself that even though he kept its intensity setting at the absolute minimum to let his brain comprehend the 3,333 rules without being overwhelmed, she could still feel his gaze seeing through everything. He wasn’t wearing a blindfold anymore, for he had complete control over his own senses.

During a quiet evening on a balcony overlooking the academy’s artificial starry sky, they reaffirmed their bond.

Celestia rested her head on his shoulder, and Runar began to speak. He told her everything. He told her about the world-hopping gate, the sealed memories, and the sci-fi universe he had been thrust into. He spoke of his life as Orion Starr, the technological advancements he had driven, and the empire he had built from nothing. He told her about the friends he had made, the people who had become his family in that distant reality.

”I had an adoptive mother named Cassia, who worked tirelessly to protect and guide me,” Runar explained softly, his voice carrying a deep fondness. ”And I had a step-sister named Nyla. She was brilliant, fiercely loyal, and we grew incredibly close. They are my family, Celestia, just as you are.”

Celestia listened intently, her eyes wide with awe as she absorbed the sheer scale of his experiences. She reached up and gently traced the line of his jaw, a soft, understanding smile on her lips. ”They sound like wonderful people,” she said quietly. Then, a playful yet earnest glint appeared in her violet eyes. ”So, when are you bringing my sister, Nyla, to this universe?”

Runar chuckled, the sound warm and genuine. He wrapped an arm around her shoulders and pulled her closer. ”Soon,” he promised, his tone firm and reassuring. ”I will open a stable bridge between the universes, but only when everything has been secured and stable here. I will not risk their safety or disrupt the balance of this world until I am absolutely certain it is safe for them to cross over.”

Celestia nodded, perfectly content with his answer. She trusted him completely. Then, she looked up at his face, her gaze lingering on his eyes. ”Your eyes... they really do look different,” she observed, her voice filled with wonder. ”They are deeper, like they hold the entire cosmos within them. Where is the blindfold you said you wore when you couldn’t control it?”

Runar smiled, a look of absolute confidence crossing his features. ”This is the Myriad Genesis Eye. I merged my old Runic Omniscient Eye with the Principle of Genesis I comprehended in the other universe.”

He explained that in the past, the sheer weight of the principles leaking from his eyes would have terrified everyone existence in his field of vision, forcing him to wear a blindfold to protect the world and his own mind. ”But now, my existence is perfectly synchronized. My soul, body, and energy are in absolute harmony. I don’t need a blindfold anymore.”

To demonstrate, Runar focused his will. He adjusted the intensity setting of his eye to the absolute minimum. The chaotic, fractal, kaleidoscopic geometries that usually threatened to overwhelm onlookers faded away, leaving behind a calm, starry void that looked mesmerizingly profound yet perfectly contained.

”At this minimum setting, I can see the physical world normally,” he explained, ”and my brain can comfortably comprehend the 3,333 rules flowing through reality without overloading my thoughts. I can toggle it on or off, or adjust it to whatever level I need, with perfect control.”

Celestia reached out, gently touching his cheek, marveling at the absolute mastery he had achieved over his own immense power.

However, this peaceful atmosphere was shattered on the morning of the fourth day. Without warning, the sky of the hidden academy galaxy shifted, and the ambient qi froze completely. A heavy, terrifying, yet profoundly majestic presence pressed down on the entire region. Every living being in the academy, from Foundation students to Quasar-realm elders, instantly dropped to one knee or bowed their heads deeply. Runar and Celestia bowed as well, feeling the universal thought echo in everyone’s mind: A Supreme One has arrived.

This was not merely the strong ruling over the weak; it was pure, earned reverence. The Supremes were the shields of humanity. They held the line against Universal Void Beasts and repelled inter-race wars. They ventured into the dangerous outer voids and even crossed universe boundaries to fight off cosmic invaders who sought to devour their universe to fuel their own cultivation. They risked their lives hunting cosmic treasures and bringing them back to nurture the next generation of geniuses. Their deeds were so monumental that even normal alien race creatures of different kinds showed them deference and bowed in mutual respect to their other rival race supreme beings. They had sacrificed everything for the survival of existence, and they deserved the bow.

As suddenly as it arrived, the terrifying pressure vanished, leaving a ringing, profound silence in its wake. A golden, system-wide holographic message materialized in the vision of every student:

ATTENTION: All Apex Class students. Report to the Zenith Pavilion immediately. Your private instruction and Dao discussion with Supreme Void-Walker is about to begin.

Runar, Celestia, and the other thirteen Apex students gathered and began their walk toward the Zenith Pavilion, a majestic, ancient structure at the heart of the academy. As they walked through the grand plazas, Foundation, Advanced, and Elite class students watched them from the sidelines. The atmosphere was thick with unspoken tension and jealousy.

An Elite Student gritted his teeth and muttered, ”Look at them. The Apex dogs getting a private audience with a Supreme. It makes my blood boil.”

An Advanced Student added bitterly, ”It’s not fair. We trained just as hard and bled just as much. But they get to breathe the same air as a god. One word of guidance from a Supreme could shatter their bottlenecks and change their entire cultivation path.”

A Foundation Student scoffed, ”Hmph. Let’s see if they can actually handle the pressure of a Supreme’s presence without fainting. They’re just lucky they were born with better talent. Luck isn’t skill.”

Runar heard every single whisper with his enhanced senses. He didn’t feel anger or arrogance, only a detached calm. He knew the gap between them wasn’t just about talent; it was about destiny, preparation, and the heavy burdens they would soon carry. He was focused on only one thing: what he could learn about Rules from a being who had actually comprehended them, so he could compare it with his own Principle of Genesis.

Finally, the massive, ancient doors of the Zenith Pavilion slowly ground open, revealing a profound, serene, starry void. A single, calm, yet universe-shaking voice echoed from within, welcoming them inside. ”Welcome brats.”
