Myriad Heavens: Rise of the Rune God

Chapter 202: Chapter 202: The Principle and The Link

The command deck was finally quiet. The harsh red warning lights were gone, replaced by the soft, steady glow of the blue control panels. The Kreth’mar fleet was running away, their damaged ships fading into tiny dots on the edge of the sensor screens, and the empire was safe for the moment. Orion stood tall in front of the glowing System interface, his silver hair catching the pale light. He looked at the floating blue text and reviewed his choices, making his final, definitive decision.

He chose the middle path. He would leave a permanent Soul Clone in this universe to manage the empire and keep it growing, while forging an unbreakable, two-way Soul Link with his original self in the main universe. The System accepted his choice without a sound. Then, Orion’s consciousness split cleanly. It did not hurt; it felt like taking off a heavy coat after a long journey. A portion of his soul, glowing with golden light and carrying all his memories, techniques, and the Rule of Genesis, dropped into a newly formed, perfect clone body. This clone opened its eyes and looked at Orion with perfect understanding. The rest of his soul reached out, stretching across the dark, empty space between worlds, searching for its true origin. A bright, silent bridge of pure light connected the two universes, pulsing like a steady heartbeat. Orion smiled, knowing his original self was about to get the ultimate download of knowledge and power.

Far away, in the main universe, Runar was deep inside the Comprehension Space. The white void was usually peaceful, but right now, it was the site of a grueling, decades-long process of soul tempering. He was trying to reach the Quasar realm and balance his Rule-fused body, which was a slow and painful grind. Suddenly, the quiet white void was pierced by a blinding, urgent System notification. It pushed past his current cultivation state and demanded his attention, glowing with a harsh red light that cut through the white space.

[ALERT: Multiversal Soul Link Imminent.]

[WARNING: Massive memory injection detected from alternate universe connection.]

[Injection commencing in 5 seconds. Soul synchronization will initiate thereafter.]

[PLEASE PREPARE YOUR MIND AND SOUL.]

Runar’s eyes snapped open. He did not panic at all. Because of his Quasar-realm soul strength and the Heaven-Defying Comprehension Mantra, his mind was a fortress built to withstand anything. He instantly reorganized his spiritual sea. He built a massive, reinforced receiving basin in his consciousness to catch the incoming data without tearing his soul apart. He took a deep, steady breath and braced for the impact.

The five-second countdown hit zero. A torrent of memories crashed into his mind like a heavy, unstoppable wave. He saw flashes of a different Earth, a highly advanced sci-fi civilization, the System, the brutal Kreth’mar war, the ancient god Wukong laughing, the massive Dyson Swarm blocking out the stars, the brutal trial of the elites, and the final, universe-shaking comprehension of the Rule of Genesis. For a normal cultivator, this massive flood of information would cause instant brain death or soul fragmentation.

But Runar’s Quasar-level soul processed the data at incomprehensible speeds. In just a few seconds, the chaotic flood organized itself into perfect, accessible memory files, like scattered puzzle pieces snapping together into a clear picture. The soul link stabilized, leaving a permanent, faint, warm feeling in the back of his mind. It was a direct, unbreakable line to his clone.

Runar opened his eyes and exhaled a long, shaky breath as he processed the sheer scale of what he just experienced. He was genuinely surprised and thrilled by two massive discoveries.

First, he analyzed the ”Rule of Genesis” that Orion had comprehended. He cross-referenced it with the main universe’s cultivation hierarchy, which strictly went from Laws to Rules, and then to Principles. He realized with a sudden jolt that this wasn’t just a Rule. In the grand cosmic hierarchy, it was something fundamentally higher. It was a Principle, a foundational truth of existence that sat above all Rules and dictated how reality itself was built. Runar muttered to himself, and a wide grin spread across his face. ”Looks like every universe is unique. I was able to comprehend a real Principle disguised as a Rule. This looks like my number one benefit from this world-hopping experience.”

Second, he reviewed the First Gene Lock cultivation method. He looked closely at the heart and brain rings, the cellular cultivation nodes, and the meridian optimization. He realized its immense value. Instead of replacing his Eternal Nexus Ascension, he saw how perfectly it could act as a supplementary cultivation technique. He realized the Gene Lock’s focus on cellular independence and meridian reinforcement could solve the final bottlenecks in his own body and soul tempering. It was the perfect missing puzzle piece to harmonize his Universal Seed dantian, his Rule-fused body, and his Quasar soul.

Runar immediately put the new knowledge to work. He didn’t exit the Comprehension Space yet, because he wanted to use this perfect environment. Instead, he began modifying his Eternal Nexus Ascension technique on the fly. He wove the Gene Lock’s cellular node concepts and meridian optimizations directly into his current soul tempering process. The integration was seamless and natural. The tempering process, which was previously a grueling, slow grind, suddenly accelerated into a smooth, powerful flow. His soul and body began to harmonize at a terrifying new speed, fueled by the residual conceptual understanding of the Principle he just inherited.

Golden-silver starlight swirled faster around him, the cracks in his soul healing instantly, and he felt his body and soul locking together like two halves of a perfect whole. Runar checked the soul link one last time. He felt the distant, stable, and immensely powerful presence of his clone managing an entire sci-fi empire. He smiled, realizing his power ceiling had just been shattered into pieces. He was no longer just preparing to return to the academy. He was preparing to dominate the entire freaking multiverse.
