High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 1826: Chapter 47: Swallow Soars in Flight, Its Song Rising and Falling

”Bang!”

The small door at the end of the room was heavily pushed open.

The teaching assistant bent over, squeezing back into the narrow room with heavy footsteps.

”No whispering!”

Upon returning to the room, Hilda immediately noticed the slightly chaotic scene and yelled loudly, ”Each card has a different spell and each person’s perception is different... This is just the beginning of this trial session, don’t drag others into the ditch.”

This remark was quite cutting.

Zheng Qing smirked and sat back in his seat, trying to block out the noise at his ears. He carefully touched the edges of the trial card’s protrusions, silently chanting ’Sky’s Manifest Thoughts’ in his heart, trying to squeeze out more knowledge from the card.

This made him randomly think of a phrase—knowledge is like water in a sponge, squeeze it and there’s always some.

Nevertheless, despite his efforts to concentrate, Hilda’s voice uncontrollably drifted into his ears: ”... You have twenty minutes to study! Hurry up! Don’t fail to take the first step...”

”Sir!” Zheng Qing heard someone loudly ask, ”Are we in the sky now? Will we really be thrown down from the sky by you later?”

He couldn’t resist looking up at Hilda’s direction.

Underfoot, his bored shadow also clawed, like an octopus searching for food, drilling into the shadows of others on the floor.

Hilda looked strangely at the questioner: ”Are you asking me?”

The questioner nodded honestly.

The teaching assistant looked around, seeing those eyes full of expectation, gradually stiffening his face, widening his eyes, then taking a deep breath and roaring, ”Do you have so little time? Time to ask the examiner about the answers, but not enough time to check your own paper more thoroughly?”

Swish!

The young wizards on both sides of the room lowered their heads in unison, once again frantically copying and chanting the unfamiliar spell beneath their hands.

...

...

Twenty minutes passed in the blink of an eye.

Hilda did not give everyone even a second more, almost as soon as the second hand swept to the 0 mark, she shouted loudly, reminding everyone present:

”Gentlemen, ladies!”

”The 2008 freshman trial of the First University officially begins!”

”The first step, please unfasten your seatbelts.”

The room erupted with a rustling sound, Zheng Qing unfastened his while glancing around at his companions: ”Have we copied all the spells we talked about? No problem with the flying curse, right? Check your gear... tug the belt on your wrist, check if the law book is tightly bound.”

Except for Li Meng, everyone immediately followed the Hunting Team Leader’s nagging advice and answered one by one. Only the little witch was still flipping through the law book, staring at the unfamiliar spell formulas, muttering continuously.

”Second step!”

As if hearing the young cost student’s soft reminder, Hilda glared fiercely at him, raising her voice: ”Everyone lean back slightly... yes, apply a little force to the waist and abdomen, neck lean back slightly.”

Zheng Qing complied.

Click.

A crisp clicking sound rang out, transmitted through the skull, sounding like some mechanism being activated. But before he could react, the seatback behind him suddenly lightened, seemingly pulled away abruptly by someone, and the resistance vanished in an instant.

Whoosh!

Zheng Qing flipped head over heels, tumbling backward from his seat, and in the blink of an eye fell into the rushing airflow. Screams were incessant at his ears, and swiftly changing scenes flashed before his eyes, slippery clouds brushed past his hands and feet, a chilling sensation.

When he opened his mouth, it was as if someone had splashed him with water, and everywhere in his mouth, nasal cavity was a wet feeling.

The boy struggled, looking back, a large plane was steadily suspended not far away, caught his eye. The spacious fuselage opened up on both sides, revealing the empty cabin inside.

In the cabin, Hilda was clutching a rope net hanging from the ceiling, waving her arm forcefully, seemingly bidding farewell to these young wizards, while the strong wind vaguely carried his intermittent shout:

”Arrived at the airdrop point... execution... complete!”

It really was an airplane.

After a brief moment of loss, Zheng Qing somehow did not feel excessive panic, quickly regaining composure, turning to satisfaction with his team’s discussion outcome being correct.

He laboriously flipped his body amidst the roaring wind, with countless scenes flying past, focused and persistently opening the law book in his hand, sweeping over the spells copied on the first page ten lines at a glance, letting the magic power naturally flow:

”The flying feather, dressed splendidly!”

Buzz!!

A brief hum flashed by his ear, Zheng Qing could clearly feel the magic power inside him suddenly drifting off course under the spell formula’s guidance, as if a punch landed in the air, catching him off guard.

The spell formulas copied on the law book smoked one after another, turned into black ashes, leaving a blank sheet.

Not too bad.

Zheng Qing consoled himself, the recitation failure did not cause a magic power backlash, just spell formula out of control, with little impact. He raised his hand, laboriously flipping the law book until the last few pages.

There was the backup copy of the second flying curse, just in case.

”I can do it, no problem.”

He cheered himself up in his heart, his gaze swiftly swept over the somewhat scribbled spell on the paper, then cleared his throat with effort, pressing his fingertip on the basic spell formula, reciting again:

”The flying feather, dressed splendidly!”

Ooooo... Buzz Buzz!!

This time, a sustained hum sounded, the originally rapidly falling body seemed to have landed on soft cotton, swiftly stabilizing.

Zheng Qing tilted his head to look behind.

He saw that two pairs of thin, semi-transparent wings had unfurled from his shoulder blades unbeknownst to him, vibrating rapidly, sunlight shining on the wingtips, emitting five-colored radiance.

The boy raised his hand, a faint red, semi-transparent envelope began at the fingertips, spreading along his wrist, elbow, shoulder, extending over his entire body, the whole person seemed to be encased in a layer of gently leaping flame.

Somehow, a young wizard came to a realization in his heart, this envelope simulating an ephemeral form, at this moment he was like a big ephemeral, flying in mid-air.

Whoosh!

A figure suddenly swept by his side, Zheng Qing fixed his gaze to see it was a classmate. Perhaps due to not maintaining balance during descent, he was spinning towards the ground like a top.

The young cost student raised an eyebrow, did not immediately lend a hand, but reopened the law book, found a new spell:

”Swallow soars in flight, sound reverberates above and below!”

This was an additional spell Xiao Xiao had provided to several companions, used for maintaining contact during flight, a spell with multiple formulas, the main spell was handled by Xiao Xiao.

Though it was a new spell, it belonged to the collaboration category, with relatively simple auxiliary spell formulas, Zheng Qing easily managed to cast it.

Then, a cacophony suddenly erupted in his ears.
