High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 1347: Chapter 94 Prophecy

”It truly was an unexpected journey.”

After listening to Zheng Qing’s description of the World in the Mirror, Mr. Wu’s face flickered with an indescribable expression, and his tone became even gentler: ”Destiny always surprises us when we least expect it. Even I sometimes cannot help but wonder if, beyond magic, there exists something greater and more noble, silently watching over this world.”

”I let you enter the World in the Mirror merely to teach you how to free yourself from confusion and doubt. Although the outcome hasn’t changed much, the process was beyond my expectations.”

”Let it be, let it be.”

”Different paths lead to the same goal... Perhaps constantly breaking the boundaries of my imagination is where the true power of the Forbidden Curse lies.”

Zheng Qing had no interest in listening to Mr. Wu’s long speech.

He was more focused on Zhu Si.

Moreover, from Mr. Wu’s words, he keenly sensed something unusual: ”Mr. Wu, do you know Zhu Si?”

”Perhaps,” Mr. Wu’s answer was ambiguous.

”Then you can rescue him!” The young cost student exclaimed excitedly.

This time, Mr. Wu was silent for a long time.

Long enough to make Zheng Qing feel uneasy.

After a while.

Mr. Wu finally raised his hand and placed it on the shoulder of the young wizard: ”I wish... but when you meet her next time, have the ability to bring her back.”

”Next time!” Zheng Qing repeated the word, barely hiding his disappointment: ”Can’t it be now? She is still suffering inside. And why me... Can’t you?”

”I am too old, and too large,” Mr. Wu sighed, ”Like an elephant on thin ice, just maintaining a standing posture is already difficult, let alone dancing ballet on the ice... More importantly, my state of existence has already lost its imagination.”

”Imagination?”

”Imagination is the greatest difference between a young wizard and an elder wizard. You’ve been with me to the World in the Mirror before, and you’ve seen it—my World in the Mirror is just a long corridor with no visible end, completely different from your labyrinth. That’s the world solidified after losing confusion.”

Mr. Wu’s examples and explanations were very detailed, but they were not the point.

The point was how to quickly bring Zhu Si back from the World in the Mirror.

”Can the school help?” The young wizard looked hopefully at Mr. Wu: ”Or the Mage Alliance? Trident Sword? There must be many wizards stronger than me in this world who haven’t lost their imagination!”

”But they can’t find Zhu Si. Zhu Si won’t deal with them either.” Mr. Wu shook his head: ”In the context of magic, the word ’fate’ is ineffable. It can connect two very distant yet closely related souls; at the same time, it makes people searching for each other face to face but invisible to each other.”

”I want you to bring her out to clear my own karmic debts.”

”Besides fate, letting the Alliance or others in the school know of Zhu Si’s existence isn’t a good thing either.” Saying this, Mr. Wu suddenly asked Zheng Qing, ”Do you know Zhu Si’s parents?”

Zheng Qing shook his head blankly, still not fully recovered from the phrase ’clear my karmic debts.’

But at the same time, he realized a previous blind spot and immediately responded: ”Right, we can tell Zhu Si’s parents about this! They must be very worried! You must know them, right?”

Mr. Wu smiled.

The hand on the young wizard’s shoulder pressed slightly, signaling him to quiet down.

”Zhu Si’s mother is currently imprisoned in the Black Prison,” Mr. Wu said in a tone that quieted the young man.

Zheng Qing knew what the Black Prison was and what being imprisoned there meant. This realization filled him with a deep sadness—Oh girl wandering in the mirror, do you know that what you are seeking is a future even more elusive than the shadows in the mirror?

”And Zhu Si’s father, you should know him too. He’s the Rat Immortal of the school’s Underground World,” Mr. Wu’s next statement made the young man completely lose his voice.

He still remembered the two blurred figures on the sofa after Zhu Si lit the match.

Although he couldn’t see their faces clearly, the Witch was tall and graceful, while the Warlock was tall and robust—forming a stark contrast with the short, fat, and ugly face of the Rat Immortal. Zheng Qing couldn’t even dare to imagine what Zhu Si’s mother in Black Prison looked like now.

For a moment, he did not know whether bringing Zhu Si out was a good or bad thing.

He looked towards Mr. Wu, seeking help.

Mr. Wu was looking up, gazing into the deep mist outside the pavilion. His eyes reflecting an endless starry sky, Zheng Qing seemed to see countless fragmented images.

Zheng Qing suddenly realized at the bottom of his heart, those were the shadows of the River of Time, the past, future, and present.

Mr. Wu’s voice sounded as if it came from ancient times, becoming somewhat blurred, yet very profound:

”...Choosing the appropriate time and place is very important, just like customizing a wizard robe at Cloud Think Boutique, it must fit your body, including inner seams, waist line, cuffs, collar, all junctions, and of course, the belt.”

”The first weekend of June... where lines of Destiny intertwine... all creatures return to their places... Starry Sky returning to Starry Sky... the departed returning to their homeland... adversaries face to face, with blood pervading... all happening in the second May.”

Bang!

The starry sky reflected in Mr. Wu’s eyes suddenly shattered, his gaze returning to reality.

This was a prophecy.

Zheng Qing stared intently at the Floor Mirror, recalling every single word Mr. Wu had said.

He felt he vaguely understood Mr. Wu’s prophecy.

”Does it have to be at that time?” he finally asked.

”That is the best time.” Mr. Wu nodded: ”Perhaps you can go in now and bring her out. But you would only bring her greater sorrow. To rescue, is not merely to save a life, but to also save hope.”

”...Can I really do all this?”

”You definitely can.” Mr. Wu patted the young wizard’s shoulder again: ”Only you can break all the binds of the rules.”

”Mr. Wu.”

”Hmm?”

”Is she... is she still alive?”

”This is a very serious question.” Mr. Wu, leading the youth, paced around the mirror in the pavilion, slowly analyzing: ”Based on your description, she is smart, knows manners, is grateful, eats on time, listens to her mother... If all of this doesn’t count as being alive, then what kind of person is considered alive?”

Zheng Qing forced a smile.

He always felt that speaking with Mr. Wu was like communicating in two different dimensions, but Mr. Wu’s words seemed to make sense.

”Is she safe now?” the young man asked.

”She will be safe.”

”Why are you so sure?”

”Because this is First University, a place where cats and Mice sit together for breakfast. I trust this university, just as I trust you.”

”That’s not very reassuring,” the young wizard thought of the earlier comments Mr. Wu made about his intellect and couldn’t help mumbling.

Mr. Wu slapped his head:

”Alright, enough about Zhu Si... Back to our main topic. Let’s continue with tonight’s lesson.”
