High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 1304: Chapter 51 Xiao Xiao’s Sheep Milk Report

”Without any surprise, Sir Friedman will have to live at the mercy of his old rival for the next year,”

”That’s just too miserable.”

”No wonder Matthew has been looking quite grim these past few days.”

”It’s all because of the surname Karen. If the Duke is down on his luck, Matthew won’t have it easy either.”

”I remember that Sepulano is even one level below Sir Friedman... The Duke is a third-year, while Sepulano is still a second-year.”

”That just goes to show that age and ability don’t necessarily correlate.”

”Perhaps the Duke might choose to graduate early... He should be a registered wizard by now, right?”

”Which of those big shots isn’t a registered wizard? And with Sister Korma as an example... I wouldn’t be surprised if any of them suddenly became a Big Wizard.”

The air in the dormitory was at first filled with a mix of pity and schadenfreude as everyone discussed the potential situations that could arise between the two student leaders of Alpha Academy, as if they were talking about a freshly released, intriguing play.

But Zheng Qing’s last words caused the atmosphere in the dormitory to cool down abruptly.

In Jiuyou Academy, where grades determine everything, it was somewhat beneficial to chat casually about ”poetic hills in the distance” as it could invigorate everyone to sprint toward their modest goals.

However, turning the ”hills in the distance” into the ”Himalayas” made such conversations excruciating, especially when the listeners had high ambitions.

It was a feeling of ”horses dying from the sight of distant mountains,” an aspiration seemingly within view but unattainable—a suffocating feeling.

This slightly depressed atmosphere lasted for a few seconds until someone brought back the original topic:

”Speaking of which... the school’s punishment for the two big shots is quite frightening.”

Dylan’s head drooped over the edge of that black coffin, still looking a bit despondent, his little sharp fangs exposed, leaving deep marks on his lower lip, ”If this verdict were made at Starry Sky Academy, everyone would definitely ’cease fighting’ to protest.”

To cease fighting, as the name implies, is to stop fighting. Dylan’s use of this term finally got everyone laughing again, but no one laughed too outrageously. After all, Student Dylan’s expression was very grave.

It’s no wonder he took the punishment so seriously.

Considering students at Starry Sky Academy regularly stir up similar ’martial festivities,’ it’s not as though any of the student leaders’ heads were rolled.

According to Mister Wolfman’s modest and pure view, the school should theoretically be impartial in handling similar incidents.

”Indeed, it is frightening.” Zheng Qing, thinking about the two predecessors who had lost their titles, and recalling the street he himself had almost destroyed, shuddered involuntarily and muttered with lingering fear, ”I certainly don’t have titles like ’Lei Zhe’ or ’Augustus’ to spare...”

”What did you say?” Doctor Xiao narrowed his eyes and glanced at the government-funded student.

He did not know that Zheng Qing had once destroyed an entire street in North Beita Town—nor could Zheng Qing possibly boast about such a thing in front of his peers. Not only because the whole incident was sensitive from start to finish, but also, the fact that he and Jiang Yu were out walking in the North District late at night was suspicious enough to sound fishy.

The last thing some people wanted was trouble.

Hearing the Doctor’s questioning, Zheng Qing gave a dry laugh, ”I mean... if any of us accidentally destroyed half a street, we wouldn’t have titles like Lei Zhe or Augustus to protect ourselves.”

Dylan nodded vigorously, the hard of his chin knocking against the coffin lid with a dong dong sound.

It was like having a woodpecker in the dormitory.

”Exactly, exactly!” He forcefully supported the team leader’s viewpoint, ”Such punishment far exceeds what ordinary students can handle... Is the school trying to incite an uproar at Starry Sky Academy? They haven’t even settled that trivial matter with the Lake Bell Fishman Tribe yet!”

”Don’t confuse the ’battles’ of us Blue Gowns with the ’fights’ at other academies.” Xin Student, who had been trying to dominate the conversation, finally found a suitable point of entry: ”You at the Starry Sky Academy have treaties protecting your actions; other academies don’t have such luxuries... Don’t you, Brother Qing, have several titles?”

”Me?” Zheng Qing was pasting a Refreshing charm on the wall of a paper house for the sprites. At the mention, he bent his thumb to point to his own nose, ”Are you talking about me?”

Because he moved a bit too vigorously, the paste lingering on his fingertip accidentally smeared on his nose.

Another annoying incident.

”Of course.” The fatty leaned back, revealing a round, tight belly—Fatty Cat Tuan Tuan seized the opportunity to leap onto his stomach, causing ripples of fat, and the fatty let out a groan-like sigh:

”Mmm... A cost student of Jiuyou Academy, recipient of the Merlin Medal, ’The World’ of the magic wand... These titles, they’re honors, right? If you destroyed half a street, the school would certainly recall your honors based on certain regulations... just like with Lei Zhe and Augustus this time.”

Besides losing their titles, Lei Zhe and Augustus were also stripped of their cost student status for the 2008-2009 school year. This was a loss in real money, meaning they had to pay back a whole year’s tuition, facility usage fees, and many other expenses.

Zheng Qing stared at the dab of paste on his nose and sighed deeply.

”Did the school return your Charm Gun?” Xiao Xiao asked Zheng Qing out of the blue.

The young cost student looked at the doctor as if he’d seen a ghost—so shocked he forgot to wipe the paste off his nose—because he had never talked about this in the dorm, and just last night, the gentleman had crammed that bronze chest into his head. How did the doctor know about it today?

”Is there a problem?” Xiao Xiao touched his own face, adjusting his glasses and squinting, ”Or has the school already returned it?”

”Why do you suddenly ask about this?” Zheng Qing licked his dry lips and asked in a low voice.

”So, it has been returned, right?” Xiao Xiao nodded knowingly, and he lifted his notebook, ”I’m just casually asking... the semester is almost over, and the Hunting Committee is asking each hunting team to submit their training plan for the next year. Absolution points are enough to upgrade to an official hunting team, so we can apply for consumable supplements. If the school has returned your gun, then I need to add some Fu Bullets to my application form.”

Zheng Qing quietly breathed a sigh of relief, lowered his eyelids, and muttered, ”Not exactly returned... but it’s kind of returned. The situation is a bit complicated...”

Then he finally noticed the nearly dried-up swab of white paste on the tip of his nose.

He rubbed it with his wrist and ultimately abandoned explaining the current situation of the two Charm Guns, instead, showing curiosity about what Xiao Xiao was doing: ”Does the hunting team need to submit the annual training plans now? That’s too early...”

As soon as the words left his mouth, he regretted it.

Sure enough, after a twitch at the corner of his mouth, Doctor Xiao clenched his teeth and shouted at him: ”That’s exactly why... what’s the point of having you as a Hunting Team Leader?! In other teams, this kind of thing is the leader’s responsibility!”

Zheng Qing quietly leaned his head back to avoid the doctor’s questioning gaze and started whistling toward the sprites’ paper house:

”The capable tend to do more... isn’t our hunting team under a Dual Head System... Elder Zhang Da is also one of the leaders of the team... and with all the recent events...”

He mumbled, his excuses fragmented, and then, it was his turn to be sharp:

”If you could improve your Divination skills a bit and find the whereabouts of Lin Guo’s black sheep, I would certainly have enough time to help you complete those reports... Now, just dealing with the wizards of the North District takes up a lot of my time.”
