Chapter 1308: Chapter 55 The Wizard with Sunglasses

Zheng Qing and Jiang Yu met Korma, and there was another visitor in the temporary meeting room.

Although it was called a meeting room, it was actually just the first floor of the Sakura Pub. However, since the owner had become a Great Wizard, riding the tide of her new status, this bar with a small kitchen and a few tables had turned into a temporary meeting room.

And it seemed that Korma had no intention of remodeling it.

As Zheng Qing entered, another visitor in the room was suggesting something similar to the North District Great Wise Person, ”... This meeting room is too dimly lit, unfit for your status. Do you have any plans to switch to a brighter place?”

Even though they were inside, this visitor was still wearing a teal-domed hat and a deep teal trench coat with four rows of buttons. A beautiful, striking butterfly perched atop her hat, and underneath the coat, she wore a slightly tight black mid-length dress, revealing a small section of fair, white calves, finished off with a pair of white witch shoes.

The young man subconsciously lifted his gaze to avoid the calves, settling it on the butterfly resting on the brim of the hat.

The butterfly’s wings fluttered gently in the dim room.

Zheng Qing thought it was alive.

Compared to the eye-catching butterfly, the large sunglasses the visitor wore were even more striking. But even though the sunglasses covered most of her face, Zheng Qing could still determine the visitor’s identity from the aura she exuded.

It was none other than the owner of Greenhill Mansion, an Upper House Member of the Moon Council, Lady Su Shijun.

Upon hearing the visitor’s suggestion, the owner of the Gini Cottage very politely replied:

”No, thank you, it’s quite fine as it is.”

Clearly, she did not like to change the environment she was familiar with.

The sound of Katherine opening the door caught the attention of the two Great Wizards.

Zheng Qing looked up and saw Su Shijun, seated at the side of the bar, raising her wine glass to him. Su Ya, dressed in a black and white ruffled dress, stood with a poker face next to the lady, her fox tail stuffed into her shirt, looking quite prim.

”Are you here?” the tone of Greenhill Mansion’s owner was somewhat languid. Su Ya puffed her cheeks and gave the warlock a stern look without making a sound.

Zheng Qing suppressed the urge to turn around and leave immediately.

Jiang Yu stood aside, watching him with a teasing smile curving the corners of her mouth. Korma leaned against the bar, arms folded, eyeing the warlock with a curious gaze.

Sensing the subtlety between Zheng Qing and Su Shijun, the Gini Cottage’s owner sharply picked up on the delicate atmosphere due to her Great Wizard’s sensitivity. But out of respect for another Great Wizard, she chose to remain silent and watch.

”Hi, hi everyone,” the young scholarship student’s voice was hoarse as he waved towards the pub owner and the visitor, then tugged at his collar, taking a deep breath, ”Is it a bit stuffy in here, haha... Are the windows closed?”

Before he could finish, a white furry ball squeaked and darted from the corner of the bar, jumping into the young scholarship student’s arms and causing him to stumble.

It was Poseidon.

The young man took two steps back to steady himself.

Jiang Yu, who had just reached out to help him, quietly withdrew her hand upon seeing this; Su Shijun squinted slightly and hummed softly, but ultimately said nothing. On the other hand, Sister Korma’s eyes lit up upon seeing Little Fox.

She had originally thought that the little fox was merely a junior from the Su family of Qingqiu.

But clearly, the situation was much more interesting than she had imagined.

Noticing the watchful eyes of the witches, Zheng Qing felt nervous. He weighed the Little Fox in his hands and then laughed awkwardly, ”How, how did you get heavier? Girls should learn to watch their diet...”

A sharp glance from beside the bar made the warlock swallow the rest of his words, twirling them around on his tongue a few times before he dared to modify and voice them again:

”...Of course, you’re still young, eating more is good for you,” said the man, his piercing gaze relaxing.

The boy quietly breathed a sigh of relief, inconspicuously pinching Poseidon’s slightly pudgy cheeks. This creature would often vanish from the Pet Garden, leaving him too worried to eat, while it grew plump and happy.

Poseidon, displeased, swung its large tail and smacked Zheng Qing twice.

Zheng Qing soothingly scratched behind its ears.

”So, it’s not just me who thinks your drawing room is a bit cramped,” Su Shijun said, swirling her wine glass. She cast a charming smile at the host of Gini Cottage, raised her hand to finish her last sip of wine, and stood up:

”Well, since you have new guests, I’ll leave you to it... I was delighted to meet you. Feel free to visit Greenhill Mansion if you find the time.”

Her farewell secretly relieved the others in the room.

But before Zheng Qing could fully relax, Miss Su made him take his sigh back.

”You seem quite surprised to see me?” Su Shijun said, adjusting her large glasses as she passed the warlock, giving him a blank stare, ”...or perhaps, not welcoming? That look... Tsk.”

”You... What are you, what are you doing here?” The boy stuttered, halfway through his breath.

”To have a chat with a Great Wizard of a similar age... Life on the island has become a bit less boring. Do I need to explain this to you, too?”

Jiang Yu, who stood beside Zheng Qing, gave a subtle cough to remind them of the others in the room.

Sister Korma, however, seemed oblivious to the minor incident at the door, staring intently at her Butterbeer cup, suddenly showing immense interest in the tulip-shaped glassware.

Su Shijun finally ceased her teasing of Zheng Qing.

”Dong Dong, let’s go,” she called out, stretching out her arms. Little Fox lifted its head to glance at Zheng Qing before the warlock picked it up by its front legs and tucked it obediently into Miss Su’s arms.

Jiang Yu sighed softly.

Not until Su Shijun, along with Little Fox and Su Ya, left the bar did the owner of Gini Cottage seem to snap back to reality.

”Sorry, I was a bit distracted just now... What brings you here today?” She smiled sweetly and radiantly at the young, state-sponsored student. Despite her warmth, Zheng Qing felt a sudden tightness in his body, and the hairs on the back of his neck stood on end.

”Just a few matters...” Jiang Yu, sitting respectfully opposite the owner of Gini Cottage, softly began to explain the purpose of their visit.

In addition to inquiring whether Nicolas would be able to teach as scheduled next week, she also cautiously asked about the follow-up investigation to the ’devastating accident’ that occurred on the streets of North District last weekend.

Zheng Qing added his own question, asking if the Northern District Wizard had found Lin Guo’s Black Mountain Goat.

Regrettably, aside from confirming that Nicolas would be available to teach next week, there was no progress on the other two issues. This conclusion clearly embarrassed Korma and prevented her from continuing to flirt with the young, state-sponsored student.

”I will keep an eye on both matters,” Sister Korma said seriously when discussing the matter, ”Whether it’s the missing Black Mountain Goat, the shadow of the Outer God from that evening, or the increased consumption of goat milk at school that you just mentioned... these things certainly do not exist in isolation.”

”For safety’s sake, you should also head back to school early. Nighttime in North District is not safe.”

As the de facto voice of North Beita Town, Sister Korma’s admonition was not without reason.

Shortly after Zheng Qing and Jiang Yu left 33 Gu Diao Street under the moonlight, they were stopped in a secluded alley. The ones blocking their way were two warlocks in black cloaks.

Interestingly enough, these two wizards also wore large sunglasses, covering half of their faces securely.
