High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 925: Chapter 273 Eight Directions Cloud Movement (Three)

Leaving the Two-Dimensional Evolution Lab, Jiang Yu did not immediately return to the dormitory.

She stood in a pavilion along the Lakefront Corridor, gazing distantly at the cold, jade-like surface of the lake. After lingering for a moment, she eventually walked around Lin Zhong Lake and entered the Book Mountain Library.

Since it was the end of the semester, the library was filled with students reviewing their lessons. Looking around, each study table was occupied by young wizards buried in their books. Many students, lacking seats, simply sat on the floor, leaning against the window, reading fervently by the faint white light from outside.

Jiang Yu did not disturb those students cramming for exams but quietly navigated through the rows of bookshelves, circulating deep labyrinthine aisles, eventually arriving at a corner on the third floor of the library.

It was a desk hidden in the angle between two bookshelves in a secluded area. With five shelves around, it was the only table and should have been an excellent place to study. However, the poor lighting and lack of windows created a very oppressive atmosphere, easily making one fall asleep while studying.

Just like the witch currently sprawled across the table.

”Wake up,” Jiang Yu walked over and reluctantly pushed her twice, whispering, ”If you want to sleep, you might as well go back to the dorm.”

The witch on the desk stretched lazily, raising her head as her deep burgundy waves of hair slid down, revealing a delicate face and slightly bleary eyes.

”What time is it?” Elena yawned lazily and asked.

Jiang Yu pulled out her timer, glanced at it, ”It’s almost seven in the evening... Maybe you should go for a walk, combining work and rest makes studying more effective.”

While she spoke, Elena had already stood up from the desk, stretching her arms and loosening her muscles.

Hearing Jiang Yu’s suggestion, the gypsy witch nodded indifferently and suddenly asked, ”Did you come here for something? Don’t just say you passed by and decided to say hello...”

As she spoke, she looked around and added teasingly, ”My little world is located outside the main world, almost embedded in the crystal wall system... Normally, no one would pass by here.”

”Indeed, I’m here for a reason, related to the exams.” Jiang Yu hesitated for a moment before explaining, ”You missed the afternoon practice session, and I was worried that the Flying Paper Crane wouldn’t explain it clearly, so I came to tell you... The curse exam next Monday has been changed to 8:30 to 11 AM, lasting two and a half hours. The exam location remains the same, as per the previous notice.”

At this point, Jiang Yu stopped talking.

Elena, looking expectantly at the female monitor, and after a long pause, seeing no follow-up, made a face and said, ”That’s it? Something that could be said in one sentence... I think the Paper Crane could definitely have made it clear.”

A rare blush appeared on Jiang Yu’s face.

”Just in case, you can never be too careful,” she argued forcefully.

The gypsy witch lifted her arms, tying up her long hair behind her head, and cooperatively said, ”Right, right, right, better safe than sorry, truly worthy of our monitor, always so conscientious.”

The air was quiet for a few seconds.

Elena spoke again, congratulating him, ”Ah, I almost forgot to congratulate you on entering the Arcana Scepter Sequence... I heard that wizards who make it onto that list can all become big shots someday.”

”It’s only the Small Arcana, nothing much,” Jiang Yu waved his hand, picking up on the Gypsy witch’s topic and asked, ”Speaking of Arcana, Zheng Qing has entered the Big Arcana Sequence this time, does he have any plans?”

”Plans?” Elena blinked, looking puzzled, ”I don’t know... Shouldn’t you ask him in person about that kind of thing?”

”Oh, that’s the case. Ever since the Arcana list was published, Zheng Qing has taken a leave of absence and hasn’t been to class,” Jiang Yu spoke quickly, ”Everyone knows you two are in a relationship... It’s not a secret... And since you also didn’t come to class today... I thought you might know something.”

”We haven’t talked about that,” the Gypsy witch replied dryly.

This bizarre conversation ended there.

Standing at the entrance of the library, Jiang Yu was full of regret.

She didn’t know why she suddenly wanted to see Elena, to talk to her—and she’d even found such a feeble excuse—and now, she could barely even recall what she had just said.

”The wretched moon.” She looked up at the pitch-black night sky, talking to herself.

...

...

Equally vexed was a fat big mouse.

The Rat Immortal sat in a private meeting room on the second floor of the Wandering Bar, his entire body sunk into a soft, large sofa—what should have been a very comfortable position. Yet, contrary to that, the Rat Immortal, sitting on the sofa, looked restless, extending his paws to tug at his short whiskers, as if he wanted to pull them all out.

”I’ve already told you, don’t be impatient, don’t be impatient... Impatience won’t get you hot tofu,” the Rat Immortal rambled, sounding somewhat flustered, ”Now look, trying to steal a chicken only to lose the rice, the Forbidden Curse hasn’t been secured, and instead, my Righteous Body is also lost in the woods...”

”Ours,” a Wandering Wizard, standing in the corner, held up a finger to correct him, ”Not your Righteous Body, our Righteous Body... Our Righteous Body is lost in those woods.”

”Is that the point?” the Rat Immortal flicked his tail vigorously, pulling a few strands of fireflies from the back of the sofa to the floor, his tone becoming even more anxious, ”You! We! If the school didn’t know about it, why would they shut down your Wandering Bar for restructuring? ...Today it’s your Wandering Bar being shut down, what about tomorrow? The Rat Clan World is right under the school, and those stuffy old guys could barge in at any time and stuff all my little mice into the Black Prison!”

”It does sound pretty bad... but it’s not that bad yet,” the Wandering Wizard poured a glass of ’Changing Times’ and handed it to the Rat Immortal, while also picking up a newspaper from the nearby bar and tossing it onto the coffee table in front of him.

”Because of our actions, the school has already decided to stop hiding that little guy,” the Wandering Wizard pointed at a photo on the newspaper, whispering, ”This is a good sign... It means our direction isn’t wrong.”

Under his hand was a photo of Zheng Qing speaking at the opening ceremony.

Next to the photo, the words ”Zheng Qing’s New Title” stood out boldly. The large black text was entwined with a few smoke-like wraiths, lending an extraordinarily eerie atmosphere to the entire report.
