High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 902: Chapter 250: Bull’s Horns

”Are you the Righteous Bodies of those four guys?”

”The forest is so big, all kinds of monsters come out to hop around!”

Accompanied by the cold and solemn voice, the red cloak heavily smashed onto the snowy ground. The already trembling sandbox space emitted an ominous creak under this impact, and invisible ripples shimmered in the air, visible to the naked eye. It frightened Hilda and the other teaching assistants to the point of losing all color in their faces.

However, the young hunters of the Absolution Hunting Team, due to their lack of understanding of the dangers of a sandbox space collapse, appeared even more composed than the older teaching assistants— and Doctor Xiao, the only member of the Hunting Team whose knowledge reserve was comparable to that of the teaching assistants, had been burying his head in his notebook, sketching and writing from the beginning, oblivious to the events happening around him.

”You three stop her!”

Bull Head roared at his companions, his muscles suddenly bulging to twice their size, stretching the wide black robe on his body taut, making it look more like a tight-fitting garment and further intensifying his already very ferocious aura.

His plan was very simple, clear at a glance to anyone— have the three companions stall Su Shi Jun’s advance, while he would release his suppression and exert full force to break through the teaching assistants’ defensive line, capture a hostage, and bring them from the brink of death back to life.

As for the threat of the sandbox world collapsing, they had long thrown it to the back of their minds.

After all, dying from a space collapse was death, and being beaten to a pulp by Councillor Su after suppressing one’s power was also death—so if you’re going to die, might as well die together.

It must be admitted that these braves who dared to fish in troubled waters right under the nose of First University were very outstanding in both courage and insight. Even though these four guys were merely the Righteous Bodies of some people, the abilities they displayed were quite remarkable.

Compared to Bull Head, his three companions moved quietly, yet their actions were by no means sloppy.

The moment they received the signal from their companion, the three figures, including the beautiful snake and the turtle shell, silently lunged at Su Shi Jun. The whirlwind brought with it snow, engulfing half of the forest in a storm. The striking red cloak was soon submerged by the blizzard that swept through in the blink of an eye.

In the dimness, the young cost student could see the snake’s tail, large as a mountain, rolling in the storm, the heavy turtle shell descending from the sky, and the blooms of golden light everywhere, like sharp swords, rending the space to fragments, as if in the next second it would shatter into a pile of debris.

Only that red garb, buried in the deepest part of the storm, remained hidden throughout.

Just as the cost student fretted, suddenly from the roaring blizzard came a thunderous sound. Following this was a clear spell:

”Kan Han! Like! Tiger roar!”

The crisp spell mixed with thunder pierced through the multiple layers of suppression, echoing across the entire forest.

The mutated Tree Men who had been swinging big sticks around lost their weaponry upon hearing this spell, fell prostrate in the snowfield, and began to tremble. The Righteous Bodies such as the beautiful snake that had taken the spell head-on fared no better, now paralyzed on the ground, unable to move an inch.

The problem was that this spell seemed to be an indiscriminate area-of-effect attack magic, not distinguishing between friend or foe.

The defensive formation that the Assistant Team had been strenuously maintaining collapsed under this spell; many teaching assistants, including Thomas, spat blood and knelt in the snow with pale faces.

Zheng Qing understood their pain very well.

Because he also felt the power of that spell—like a timid person walking at night over the mountains, suddenly a white-browed tiger with hanging eyes sprang from the darkness, roaring at him incessantly.

Zheng Qing felt that the fact he hadn’t wet his pants on the spot was a testament to his exceptionally strong nerves.

”...This is too much of a pitfall,” the young cost student muttered, kneeling on the ground, clutching his chest, and gasping for breath. Due to the intense palpitations caused by the spell, there was a moment when he felt he couldn’t breathe at all, sweat pouring down his forehead, along with an intense urge to go to the bathroom.

Of course, these adverse effects came quickly and left quickly. After crouching down for a few seconds, Zheng Qing began to feel warmth emanating from his body, gradually regaining control over his physical abilities.

”Why didn’t she use the Thunder Curse on those guys?” Zheng Qing inhaled sharply, gazing at a small patch of snow on the ground turn into ice crystals under the effect of his breath.

”Because this sandbox can’t withstand a more powerful Thunder Curse.” Xiao Xiao somewhat dismissed the complaints of the young scholarship student, ”In fact, I think Goddess Su did very well... choosing a spell that intimidates the mind rather than one with overwhelming destructive power allows for maximum defeat of the opponent while maintaining spatial stability. If it were me, I couldn’t think of a better...”

Doctor’s explanation abruptly ended there.

Zheng Qing didn’t pursue what Doctor wanted to say, whether it was ’a better spell,’ ’a better choice,’ or ’a better balance point.’ Because he knew why Doctor had shut his mouth.

Bull Head.

The irascible Bull Head with eyes as colored as Zheng Qing’s own.

Panting heavily, with bloodshot eyes, it stood in front of the two young wizards.

When Zheng Qing looked up, he saw such a horrifying scene—the Bull Head’s mouth was drooling strands of white saliva, its body emitting steaming steam, its expression fierce. Behind it, more than a dozen assistants lay scattered and unconscious in the snow, with patches of bright red blossoming across the white.

Zheng Qing slowly inhaled the icy cold air around him.

He didn’t stand up but moved his hand inconspicuously behind his back.

”If I were you, I wouldn’t touch that Charm Gun,” Bull Head said, much to Zheng Qing’s surprise, its attitude surprisingly lenient. However, its ferocious expression, coupled with its words, completely negated any leniency, ”Just in case you accidentally pull the trigger, I might accidentally crush someone’s head in my hand.”

Zheng Qing swallowed hard and immediately moved his hands in front of him, signaling he wouldn’t act rashly.

Then Bull Head turned to glance at Su Shijun’s position. Following its gaze, Zheng Qing saw the Red Cloak standing some distance away, cautiously holding the tip of a lamia’s tail, watching Bull Head attentively.

”I’ll allow you all to leave,” Su Shijun said softly.

Her implication, of course, was for Bull Head to spare the young wizards at its side.

A strange smile squeezed itself onto Bull Head’s face.

”You let us go... but where can we go?” Saying so, it raised a hand, grabbed one of its horns, and twisted it hard. To Zheng Qing’s astonishment, Bull Head broke off its own horn.

Then it stuffed the pointed end of the horn into its mouth and crunched down hard.

”Ptooey!”

It spit out the fragments from its mouth, held up the bloody horn—still with broken skin and fur—under the moonlight, and examined it.

”Such a beautiful horn,” it admired, then put the horn back into its mouth, puffed up its cheeks, and started to blow:

”Woo...”

”Woo woo...”

”Woo...”

One short, two long, cycling three notes.

Bull Head seemed to forget the threat of Su Shijun so near, completely engrossed in blowing the horn.
