High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 908: Chapter 256 End of Winter Hunt

”You are still a student, and your current task is to study well in school.”

”There are things you don’t need to know, and don’t need to worry about... Being safe and steady is better than anything.”

”The trouble has been resolved.”

”Afterwards, have a cup of hot tea and bury yourself in your blankets. When you wake up the next day, all the troubles will have vanished.” Having said this, Mr. Wu also felt his words were somewhat perfunctory, so he added:

”Of course, if you have any other questions, you can look for the answers yourself. If you really can’t find them, write them down, and when you return to the store during the summer holiday, you can ask then.”

”Summer holiday?” Hearing this, Zheng Qing couldn’t hold back any longer and said, ”What about the winter holiday? It’s less than a month away... Why can’t you tell me during the winter holiday?”

”Because you are a cost student, and every year during the winter and summer holidays, you need to dedicate some time to complete the community service tasks assigned by the school.” Mr. Wu patiently explained, ”The summer holiday is longer, so even after deducting the time for public service, you still have about half a month for yourself... The winter holiday doesn’t work, after deducting the public service time, you’ll have less than a week to stay at home and celebrate the New Year. And during the New Year, I will probably be busy and not in the store.”

Zheng Qing was stunned, only then recalling some of the obligations of being a cost student.

”You could tell me now,” the young wizard muttered, his eyes glancing past a Yellow Flowered Cat, unable to resist saying, ”Like Brother Huang’s identity...”

”It isn’t a wizard, but it’s also not a cat.” Mr. Wu interrupted Zheng Qing’s words, briefly explained, then looked up at the sky, and finally said, ”Time is up, I must leave now... Remember to do well on your exams.”

With that, his figure suddenly blurred, and within moments, vanished from Zheng Qing’s sight.

This small world then let out a long sigh, as if it had been relieved.

The previously frozen time also ticked twice after that sigh, and resumed its tick-tock flow.

The scene before Zheng Qing immediately came back to life.

Howling winds, swirling snow, Tree Men running around, and teaching assistants shouting brief commands. The only difference from the last time was that those four uninvited guests vanished completely as Mr. Wu left.

Zheng Qing stretched out his hand and touched where Mr. Wu had just been standing.

Empty.

Almost instantaneously, the teaching assistants within the defensive formation noticed the main enemies had disappeared.

”Where are they?!” Thomas shouted hoarsely, ”That bull, and that snake... My Detection Magic didn’t pick up any trace of them!”

”Neither did mine!”

”Nor mine!”

”They vanished completely...”

Alert voices also came from the other teaching assistants.

Before anyone could reach a consensus, the space suddenly moaned softly, and then the moon in the sky dimmed. Zheng Qing looked up, and as expected, that red cape fluttered again in the space.

”Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!”

Su Shijun merely raised his arm and pressed down, and dozens of white columns of fire mixed with lightning abruptly rose from beneath the snow. Each column of fire carried a mutated Tree Man. In just an instant, those wildly furious, unrestrained towering figures turned into puffs of black ash, scattering all around, turning the vast stretches of white snow grey.

”This sandbox space will collapse soon, you all have less than five minutes to evacuate from here,”

Su Shijun’s cool voice echoed mid-air, easily reaching every corner, ”Everyone, after returning to the outside world, must remain silent. The school will arrange for specialists to provide one-on-one guidance for you.”

Zheng Qing touched his nose; this indeed sounded like the usual style of First University.

Just as he was pondering how long the Silence Contract provided by the school this time might last, Su Daxu’s next sentence in mid-air involuntarily made him shudder.

”... Zheng Qing, I will take you away.” Behind Su Shijun, one of the foxtails trembled slightly, and the previously standing cost student involuntarily rose into the air—as if he were in an invisible elevator.

”Ah... ah... ah!” Watching as the ground suddenly turned into thin air, the cost student couldn’t help but cry out softly, cautiously kneeling down.

Yes, it was just an unstandard kneeling posture. It was a natural reflex of the body to prevent a fall from a high place.

He would never admit that he was somewhat weak in the legs due to this sudden elevation. Accordingly, his mind also recalled the terrible experience of disembarking the school’s private plane.

Only, unlike the rapid enlargement of the scene beneath his feet when disembarking the plane, this time the scenery under his feet slowly shrank.

Just like Xin Fat Man, who initially was the size of a fat man, slowly became the size of a bucket, a winter melon, and finally the size of a sweet potato.

”Can’t you stand up?” Su Daxu, looking down, eyed the Warlock kneeling before her, her eyebrows slightly furrowed.

”Um, why did you specifically pick me up?” Zheng Qing cleared his throat, stood up, avoiding her gaze, looked down at the bustling figures the size of potatoes below, and asked somewhat guiltily.

The scene of the Witch, just a short while ago, breaking three tails and being beaten bloody by Six Fingers was still vividly imprinted in his mind.

And his own reckless action afterwards was still clear in his sight.

This made him feel a bit more embarrassed and yet somewhat closer to her when facing the Witch.

”Because the Silent Forest is still not safe enough, I need to make sure you return to the school honestly,” Su Shijun eyed the young Warlock with a scrutinizing gaze, her face stern, speaking rapidly, ”Also, regarding the educational issue of Poseidon...”

”You decide, I completely agree, no objections,” Zheng Qing immediately raised his hands.

Su Daxu raised her eyebrows.

”Compared to the first time I met you, I feel like you’re much more relaxed today,” the Witch, arms crossed, pondered, ”Is it because the bruises in your eyes have gone, so you feel psychologically unpressured?”

”The bruises are gone?” Zheng Qing was stunned for a moment, immediately pulled out a small mirror from the Grey Cloth Bag at his waist, and looked at it in front of him.

As Su Shijun had said, where there were once two tomato-red eyes, now they were clear and distinct again.

Without a hint of red, dark and shiny.

Zheng Qing blinked, nodding thoughtfully.

”Which Warlock carries a mirror with him?!” A low mutter from Su Shijun came from the side.
