High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 924: Chapter 272 Under the Moon Movements

First University is a university, so the campus is mostly populated by eighteen or nineteen-year-old young witches, and after following Su Shijun to this school, Su Ya had trouble finding playmates of the right age.

Li Meng happens to be such a person--similar family background, similar age, same gender, the two little witches quickly became good friends.

Li Meng is not someone who keeps things under wraps and is steady, Su Ya likewise.

Although the Head Maid of Greenhill Mansion has repeatedly emphasized work discipline to the little fox lady, just like when the nannies ask Su Ya to ”tuck her tail at her waist when standing” and to ”cover her ears when combing her hair,” the moment no one is supervising, she easily forgets all about those rules.

How comfortable it is to have your tail trailing behind when running, swinging left and right for balance! Why must it be tucked at the waist?

So, the news of Zheng Qing often taking Poseidon to the Two-Dimensional Evolution Lab and to Greenhill Mansion was inadvertently leaked out by Su Ya. Li Meng, who was already very displeased with Zheng Qing for breaking his promise to Greenhill Mansion last time, complained to her own cousin after hearing this news-- she didn’t grasp the deeper implications, only feeling great dissatisfaction that Zheng Qing clearly knew how to get to Greenhill Mansion but had been feigning ignorance.

The speaker was unintentional, but the listener was intentional. While Li Meng complained, Jiang Yu simply deduced a little and immediately caught the shocking truth behind this piece of news.

This was the reason she was now sitting in front of Su Shijun.

”Professor Trudeau,” Su Shijun leaned back in her high-backed chair, looked straight at the girl opposite her, and spoke softly, ”I understand... I’ll remind him to be aware of the potential ethical risks... First University absolutely won’t allow any bullying of the young by the old, not in the past, nor in the future.”

As an Upper House Member of the Moon Council and a Big Wizard, a simple reminder to a single Ordinary Wizard in the school was completely sufficient.

Jiang Yu was very aware of this.

She immediately stood up, bowed slightly in gratitude, ”Thank you for your trouble... It’s getting late, I won’t disturb you any further.”

”Hmm, no rush, no rush.” Su Shijun raised her hand to beckon, stopping Jiang Yu from leaving at once, then propped her cheek with a hand, smilingly watching the girl said, ”Since I’ve helped him out for you, how about you do me a favor and help him out in return?”

The sentence was a bit twisted, but not hard to understand.

Jiang Yu was quick-witted, getting it immediately.

”Before I came, I had already drafted the relevant silent clause and had Li Meng sign it.” She lowered her eyelashes, not looking into Su Shijun’s eyes, simply offering a brief explanation, then bowed slightly again and quietly left.

Su Shijun watched the girl’s retreating figure for a long time before she let out a sigh.

”Tsk... The young people these days.” She commented with the air of someone much older, yet she didn’t announce her final verdict.

She did not finish speaking, but someone else finished it for her.

”The young people these days... they always fail to appreciate the importance of certain matters.” As these words were said, a shadow, paper-thin, swayed down from behind the door, landing and taking shape, In the blink of an eye, it expanded like it was inflated to the size of a normal person.

The uninvited guest was tall and slim, dressed in a black tailcoat and top hat with a few strands of golden curly hair falling beneath the hat, and he was also holding a long, thin cane.

”Su Su, long time no see~” Duke Milton took off his hat and greeted the owner of the house very politely.

What responded to him were several misty Wind Blades.

”Pfft!”

The newly formed Vampire Duke was immediately sliced into several pieces by these Wind Blades. Yet, after a few flashes of red flames, the dismembered vampire fused back together in the blink of an eye and sat down on the chair that Jiang Yu had just occupied.

”Huff...” The Vampire Duke was gasping for air, looking like a salted fish thrown ashore, ”It’s really hard to accept a beauty’s favor... Your way of greeting is still as passionate as ever.”

With her arms folded and eyes slanted, Su Shijun remained silent, staring intensely at the uninvited guest in the office.

It seemed she had made up her mind not to speak.

After Duke Milton had gasped for a while and saw the witch still didn’t utter a word, he finally felt a tad embarrassed, cleared his throat a few times, sat up straight, and showed a somewhat serious demeanor.

”The Council believes that the school will make some kind of big move within half a year, which might have a very large impact on the Council, so they hope you can clear up this matter as far as you are able,” he said dryly, stating his purpose. Lastly, he emphasized, ”If you really can’t figure out what those guys in the school are up to, just finding out their real whereabouts should be enough.”

After hearing the vampire’s request, Su Shijun finally showed a trace of expression on her face.

”Hehe...” The witch laughed coldly, mercilessly taunting, ”The Council? Which Council? The Moon Council or the Dark Council? Do you need me to prepare two sets of uniforms for you? ...Don’t think you can deceive others by throwing a piece of black cloth over yourself... Why do you think the school sent me to clean up the mess at the Winter Hunting Meeting in the end? Do you really think that by pulling some strings in advance with that dead mouse from the Underground World, you could slip out of the school’s Guardian Array?”

A few traces of embarrassment appeared on Duke Milton’s face.

At the recent Winter Hunting Meeting, taking advantage of the slight lull within the school, he indeed collaborated with a few others to try and kidnap a young wizard right under the nose of First University. Unexpectedly, they were chased to a frantic escape by a witch who presided over the Guardian Array, and in the end, he lost the Righteous Body that took hundreds of years to build.

In addition, it was said a big shot of the Dark Council also suffered serious injuries during that chaos.

”I don’t know what you’re talking about,” The Vampire Duke, his face flushed, stubbornly denied—with a vampire’s normally pale complexion turning red, one could imagine how awkward his situation was.

With a scoff, Su Shijun didn’t proceed to kick someone who was already down.

Fortunately, Milton wasn’t a naive youngster; after all, he had been serving as the rotation Clan Leader of the Karen Family for some time now, and he easily readjusted his mindset.

”The request I mentioned before is the opinion of the Moon Council,” said Milton, as his gaze fell upon a corner of Su Shijun’s desk where a partially unfolded newspaper was placed, with its bold headline vaguely visible ’Moon Council Spokesperson: Discard Prejudices, Unite for Mutual Victory...’

The Duke paused for several seconds, then added, ”Before the ’Arcana’ list was released, even if we wanted to do something, it could only be done quietly. But now that the Arcana list has been released, the entire Wizard World, including the Four Seas Demon King, must have noticed some anomalies... You can’t expect the Council to just watch such a good opportunity slip through their fingers...”

”That’s your business!” Su Shijun brusquely interrupted Milton.

”It’s your business, too.” This time, Milton didn’t back down but looked sternly into the eyes of the witch, emphasizing his point.
