High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 321: Chapter 245: Equality and Justice_1

Poseidon hid his body in Zheng Qing’s hood, with only his two front legs sticking out, draped over his owner’s shoulder.

He wiggled his big ears, gazing around with a pair of deep blue eyes full of curiosity. At the slightest rustle of wind and grass, he would immediately retreat back into the warm, spacious hood.

Around him, other pets also appeared vigilant.

Li Meng’s pigeon, Xiao Bai, stood on his shoulder, anxiously turning its head with continuous cooing sounds from its throat; Liu Fei Fei’s large snake hung around her neck like a glittering scarf, its head and tail knotted together snugly in her hood; On Jiang Yu’s arm hung that plush bear, Zheng Qing noticed that the mischievous bear’s mouth had been firmly tied up with a rope.

Compared to these familiar creatures, Zheng Qing saw many new faces.

Matthew’s pet was a red bat, crystal clear all over, looking from a distance, it resembled a huge ruby; Tang Dun held a giant spider in the palm of his hand, even several meters away, Zheng Qing could clearly see the black bristles on the spider’s legs; Most baffling was Elena, who was keeping a large crow as her pet.

”Oh, I seem to see an ill omen,” Xin Fat Man whispered ominously in Zheng Qing’s ear.

He held Orange cat Tuan Tuan in his arms.

Because he didn’t have a pet, he had lured this fat cat with a chicken leg as a substitute.

One has to admit, the fat guy has a sharp eye.

Although its physique was a bit out of shape, as an animal that has been topping the ’Wizards’ Favorite Pets’ list for almost a decade, Tuan Tuan immediately attracted the attention of many witch users upon his debut in class.

Many people cried out how adorable he was, while ruthlessly manhandling the fur of the fat cat.

”No wizard likes crows,” the fat guy paused and added, ”except for those dwarves on Dongying Island.”

”Maybe you got it wrong,” Zheng Qing hesitated, carefully observing the black bird on Elena’s shoulder, he uncertainly said, ”That could be a Myna ... you know, Mynas and crows look very similar.”

Seemingly to refute his words, the black bird on Elena’s shoulder turned its head and cried out with a squawk.

Zheng Qing’s face instantly darkened.

Xin fat man held Tuan Tuan to his face, his shoulders shaking vigorously with laughter, gasping for breath.

With all its legs dangling in the air, the fat cat’s chubby face bore a look of utter resignation.

Having lost all dignity, Tuan Tuan twitched its whiskers and seemed to have caught sight of a Persian cat it had recently been chasing, who was staring at them in astonishment with her heterochromatic eyes.

Achoo!

The fat cat let out a hefty sneeze and spat a lump of saliva into the fat man’s hair.

The fat man looked up dubiously at the dark void above his head.

Zheng Qing lowered his head and began to chuckle.

”Jiuyou Academy freshmen, get ready!”

The loud voice of the Master of Ceremonies rang out again in the main hall.

Those silvery robes of Alpha Academy were slowly retreating into the corridor, like the sea at low tide, leaving a deserted world behind.

”Jiuyou Academy freshmen, please step forward to receive your badges.”

After receiving the command, the red robes shuffled forward together.

Zheng Qing swallowed, his steps slightly stiff, as he moved towards the middle of the hall in a neatly arranged queue with the people around him.

”Students, when your name is called, please come forward in order to receive your badge.”

”Your pet companions may also receive the dean’s blessing.”

”Please maintain quietness and order.”

As the Master of Ceremonies prattled on, a towering figure emerged through the white mist and walked before the Jiuyou Academy freshmen.

A shining bald head, wax-yellow complexion, and smiling eyes, practically identical to what he looked like during lectures.

The only exception was his pipe.

Perhaps because it was the opening ceremony today, the atmosphere was rather solemn; or perhaps just because other leaders were present, Old Yao did not hold his dark pipe in his hand.

Zheng Qing stared numbly at him.

”You don’t seem surprised at all?” Came the mosquito-like whisper from the fat man beside him.

Zheng Qing gave a bitter smile, finding it quite strange.

The familiar professor suddenly becoming the dean of Jiuyou Academy didn’t surprise him at all.

Considering the shock brought by Professor Emma’s appearance just a while ago, unless now someone puts up a sketch in front of him, pointing at the stick figure on it and saying, this is their academy’s dean, he might show some level of discomposure.

Old Yao squinted kindly at the freshmen, waving his hand in his usual manner.

This brought soft laughs from many people.

These were familiar styles and a familiar professor.

”Next up, the first new student from Jiuyou Academy, Liu Fei Fei.”

The slender witch tightly clung to the large snake hanging by her sides, her face flushing red, looking as if she could burst into tears at any moment.

The large snake seemed as if it had lost his soul, allowing the witch to squeeze its body pale, still staying obediently still, dangling softly around her neck.

Upon reaching Old Yao, she didn’t hesitate to bow deeply at a ninety-degree angle.

Zheng Qing vaguely heard soft laughter from the professors on the upper deck.

If it was me, I definitely wouldn’t bow, it’s too awkward.

He pondered in his heart, even if he were to bow, he wouldn’t bow so exaggeratedly.

Before he had time to think for a few seconds, the emcee professor called his name:

”Zheng Qing, please come forward.”

It was clear that the Jiuyou Academy roster was arranged according to admission results.

Zheng Qing wore a stiff smile on his face as he moved forward like a puppet.

He didn’t even know how he walked to the front of Professor Yao.

He seemed to hear many familiar, faint laughter from behind, Zheng Qing had no time to distinguish, nor did he have the mood.

He was extremely worried that he would stumble and become the laughingstock of the entire university while walking.

Look, that’s the guy who gets a full scholarship from Jiuyou Academy this year and falls after walking a few steps on stage!

While fantasizing in his mind, Old Yao’s lips seemed to be saying something, and he couldn’t understand a word. Poseidon, who was usually playful, curled his whole body into his hat pocket, not even revealing his ears.

It was not until the weight of the robe on his chest fell heavily that the young full scholarship student’s thoughts were pulled back.

He bowed his head, and two shiny badges were hanging on his right chest.

”You can go now.” A gentle voice passed in from Old Yao’s ear.

He breathed a sigh of relief and quickly returned to the team.

It was not until then that he noticed that every person in the team had a blue elf floating above their left shoulder, holding a red copper tray.

”Was there a little elf next to us just now?” He scratched the little fox in his hat pocket.

Poseidon rolled around and did not respond.

As with the self-introduction in the first class, Xiao Xiao was still the last one to receive the two badges.

When he returned to the team, Old Yao raised his hand to indicate everyone to pay attention:

”Sheridan is not born to be wise, there is no born talent, there is no born saint!”

He stood in front of all the freshmen and warned them in a serious tone:

”Under the will of the heavens, all beings are equal;”

”What all beings seek, the Tao rewards their diligence!”

”Is there a prince or a dignitary?”

”Morality, humanity, and righteousness are not accomplished without etiquette; indoctrination of the right norms is not prepared without etiquette. ”

”Etiquette means: Do nothing disrespectful, be thoughtful, have a stable speech!”

”This is the thought of Jiuyou.”

”This is fairness and equality.”

The atmosphere in the main hall became a bit solemn.

Behind the colonnade, the gaze of the other academies was on each new student of Jiuyou, making it heavy and suffocating.

New students of Jiuyou silently puffed up their chests, silently looking at their dean.

Zheng Qing felt, it seemed there was such a moment that they undertook some kind of will from the void.
