High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 308: Chapter 232: The Start of the 5th Week_1

After half a month, Zheng Qing finally had a good dream.

In his dream, he finally found an opportune moment to gift the Bohemian long dress to the Gypsy witch - Elena was particularly fond of the rouge-colored pearls in the box.

”I can string two guardian necklaces with these,” the witch joyfully said, twirling on tiptoe like a jubilant butterfly, ”One for you, one for me...”

Zheng Qing, a young scholarship student, didn’t even get a chance to appreciate the witch’s suggestion before being awoken by a horrifying noise.

”Ahhhhhh! No!”

Xin Fat Man yelled out in a robust voice, frantically searching around his desk:

”Where’s my magic spell assignment! Where is my assignment...I definitely completed it...the three-thousand-word ’Understanding the Law Book’!”

Zheng Qing took a deep breath, rolled over, pulled the covers tighter, completely covering his head.

But the shrill wailing of the Fat Man managed to break through multiple layers of barriers and forced its way into his ears.

”Professor! Professor, have you seen my assignment? I even borrowed some of your notes in the library, you know I did it... Brother Qing! Brother Qing! Do you know where I left my assignment? If I can’t find it, Old Yao will definitely summon a giant gorilla to strangle me in class...”

Zheng Qing was ultimately unable to return to his satisfying dream.

The morning atmosphere gradually seeped in as his senses revived, Zheng Qing was horrified to discover the memories of his dream rapidly fading away. The twirling witch on her tippy toes, the tinkling laughter, the mesmerizing gaze - they all seemed to fade away like melting snow under the sun, slipping deeper into his memory, lost and irretrievable.

Zheng Qing seemed to hear the sound of an eraser rubbing against the canvas of his mind.

He could not even remember how he managed to give the dress away in his dream.

”Oh...no!” The young scholarship student curled up into a ball, let out a dismayed howl, angrily pulled aside the curtain and yelled, ”Bloody hell... disturbing someone’s peaceful sleep early in the morning, is your brain fried?!”

The little elves were extremely delighted that he finally woke up, Hehe flew from the desk towards him, landing on his hair and shoulders, jostling for space.

Zheng Qing’s previously high-flaming anger was rapidly extinguished as if doused by a bucket of cold water.

”What time is it,” he muttered weakly and rapidly scanned the dormitory with hazy eyes.

Xin Fat Man was sprawled on the desk, rifling through every crevice that could fit a piece of paper, hoping to find his missing assignment; Xiao Xiao was sitting cross-legged on his bed with a notebook, his hair disheveled and his eyes were still heavy with sleep; Dylan’s bed was open, and so was the coffin lid, obviously, he hadn’t returned all night.

The outdoors was still dark, the sporadic chirping of sparrows signifying the approaching dawn.

”It’s almost six o’clock... in two hours, it’s Old Yao’s Magic Curse class, I’m done for!” Xin Fat Man continued to squeal, pulling at his sparse hair.

”How come you suddenly decided to look at your assignment this early?” Zheng Qing was baffled.

”I had a dream, I dreamt that a worm was slowly eating my assignment, one bite at a time,” Xin Fat Man’s face was downcast, his face shiny with sweat and appeared like a standing slug: ”then I woke up and I couldn’t find it ... I’ve already looked in every usual spot, it really isn’t there...”

When he heard ’had a dream’, Zheng Qing’s face immediately soured.

Just like the sky outside the window.

”We can go to morning practice.” Zheng Qing ignored Fat Man’s wail, turned his head to look at Doctor Xiao, said firmly: ”We should go a bit earlier today.”

Xiao Xiao showed no objection, turned around, and pulled out his training suit from the cupboard.

”Hey, you’re really leaving?? Don’t you have some compassion? What about your conscience! Hey! Where are your consciences?!!” Xin Fat Man’s eyes widened, watching his two roommates calmly dressing and opening the dormitory door, sounding baffled.

”Sigh... it’s only October and the weather’s already cold.” Opening the door, a gust of cold wind rushed into the room, Zheng Qing shivered, tightening his robe around him: ”This small wind blowing, swoosh, swoosh, it’s chilling my heart...”

Xiao Xiao silently put on his glasses, held his notebook and followed Zheng Qing.

”You’re really leaving! ... I’ve bought meals for you! I’ve saved seats for you! I’ve even signed a contract with you... You can’t do this! I have to see the professor! In two hours I have to see the professor! ...”

”Bang!”

The dormitory door was shut heavily.

Blocked out the whining autumn wind and the desperate wail of a certain Fat Man.

...

...

Only ten minutes before the Magic Curse class, Xin Fat Man arrived breathless and drenched in sweat.

He was holding a piece of mulberry paper, smugly waving it in front of his roommates:

”See! Even without your help, I could find my assignment!”

”What kind of dunce can’t find their own assignment?” Xiao Xiao rolled his eyes and snorted in response.

Xin Fat Man was rendered speechless.

”Where did you find it?” Zheng Qing was very curious about this.

”Tuan Tuan wrapped her midnight snack with it, I gave her a chicken leg, and she retrieved it from the window shelf in three seconds...” Xin Fat Man dejectedly sat on his chair, regardless of the chair’s wailing, he leaned back, propped up his legs, and complained: ”I want to sever ties with you guys! Who runs at the first sign of a friend’s trouble...!”

”There are roast chickens for lunch in the canteen today, I’ve just placed an order for one.” Zheng Qing propped his chin, glanced at the Fat Man.

”Oh...alright, I guess I can understand where you guys were coming from.” Xin Fat Man immediately straightened up, slapped his Magic Curse Assignment on the table, and said, ”I’m sorry for waking you up this morning!”

”Aren’t you principled at all!” Zheng Qing picked up Fat Man’s assignment between his fingers.

Like it was crumpled into a ball and then painstakingly flattened again, the mulberry paper was full of small wrinkles. There was a suspiciously dark purple stain on the blank area of the paper.

Zheng Qing strongly suspected that it was the last trace left by some poor little mouse in this world.

”Principle? What is principle!” Xin Fat Man looked at his roommate earnestly, his face beaming with a sense of righteousness: ”In this world, is there anything more important than eating? Eating is my principle!”

”Whether it’s principled or not...” Zheng Qing shaked the paper between his fingers, smacking his lips, ”But if you submit this paper, there’s a good chance Old Yao will summon a gorilla to eat you...”

Before Fat Man could retort, the stick figure behind the door began to yell:

”Teacher’s coming!”

”Everyone...quick...be...seated!”

”Old Yao brought two bodyguards!”
