Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 782: Chapter 400: A Different Kind of Worldly Flame (Second Update)

Lawrence Winters finally couldn’t hold it in anymore, shook off Kenneth Osborne’s hand, and said, ”Kenneth, this isn’t some superstitious nonsense, it’s an effective methodology. Although people haven’t found the scientific theories to back it up yet, it really exists.”

”Humans once didn’t know what electricity was and thought everything related to it was superstitious nonsense.”

”But what about now? How could human life do without electricity? — Kenneth, you can’t be so closed-minded.”

Kenneth Osborne pressed his lips together and let out a soft sigh.

He didn’t understand the things Lawrence Winters mentioned and subconsciously rejected them.

But considering these were things Lawrence had learned from a young age under Nick Zeller, he realized it couldn’t be overcome in one stroke. He could only suppress his deep-seated disbelief and, with a smile, said, ”Alright, I understand what you mean, but to ordinary people, those things are too far-fetched. Forgive your man, I’m just an ordinary person.”

Lawrence Winters smiled, relaxed, and snuggled up to him, saying, ”Kenneth, the artificial intelligence you’re working on is mind-boggling to ordinary people too. But do I look down on you because of that?”

”That’s different,” Kenneth Osborne said without hesitation, ”Besides, I can explain the things I do with scientific theory.”

”Can you really explain all aspects of artificial intelligence?” Now it was Lawrence Winters’s turn to be skeptical, ”A chip that can think like a human brain — don’t you think that process is similar to my feng shui and face reading?”

In Kenneth Osborne’s view, this analogy was just twisting words.

However, he had learned not to confront Lawrence Winters directly on professional issues. He rubbed his forehead and with a smile said, ”Hmm, that indeed requires further theoretical discussion. Come on, let’s not talk about this. Are you hungry? Do you want to eat something?”

Lawrence Winters, who had been busy all night, was indeed a bit hungry now. She nodded and said, ”Is there anything to eat?”

”What do you want to eat? I’ll make it for you.”

The two of them walked out of the elevator, and in the large flat, it was quiet. Gabrielle Winters, Nick Zeller, and the old Daoist had already gone to sleep.

Seeing Kenneth Osborne busy in the kitchen preparing a late-night snack for her, Lawrence Winters believed in love again.

...

The next day, Lawrence Winters went to work at The Foster Clan Tower.

She had just entered the office when she heard her colleagues excitedly saying, ”Our company’s drama has finally sold overseas!”

Lawrence Winters eagerly asked for details, ”Really? Where was it sold?”

”I don’t know exactly where, but the contract’s been signed. A very big foreign TV network has bought the first round of broadcast rights and will be airing it simultaneously.”

”I heard they agreed to all of Little Mr. Foster’s conditions: no dubbing, only subtitles, no editing, original airing, with the same frequency as in our country.”

”That’s amazing! I’ve never seen a domestic drama air abroad in its original form before!”

Everyone was so excited, they hardly got any serious work done all day.

Edward Foster was even more thrilled and specially came to Lawrence Winters’s office, saying, ”Lawrence, if it weren’t for you introducing Kenneth’s company to do the special effects, this drama would never have been this successful! I have to properly thank you and Kenneth!”

”Little Mr. Foster, don’t give me any empty words of thanks, we’re all adults here, and thanks should come with sincerity,” Lawrence Winters said with a smile, making a money-counting gesture with her hand.

”Of course. I’ve already doubled the special effects production fee for Kenneth’s company for this project. Although I don’t like Kenneth Osborne as a person, he certainly is capable.” Edward Foster grinned widely.

”Our Kenneth is great, Little Mr. Foster, you should watch your boundaries,” Lawrence Winters seriously reminded him, ”What happened last night should not happen again.”

Edward Foster felt a chill in his heart, but on the surface, he still smiled and said, ”What happened last night? Can’t friends shake hands or hug?”

”...Such courtesies should be limited among opposite-gender friends,” Lawrence Winters also felt a headache. She actually didn’t see a problem with it.

As long as she didn’t have any intentions, she could treat Edward Foster as a buddy or even a bestie.

But she understood why Kenneth Osborne got upset.

If the roles were reversed and Kenneth Osborne had a ”courtesy hug” with Spring Spencer, she’d probably explode on the spot.

Lawrence Winters knocked her temple with her hand, realizing she’s becoming more ”considerate.”

For some reason, she found this feeling particularly novel, even comparing Edward Foster to Spring Spencer.

But she clearly disliked Spring Spencer, yet she didn’t have such aversion towards Edward Foster.
