Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 777: Chapter 398: The Last Straw (Part 3)

”The only thing that plays a decisive role in this world can only be people.”

”And the reason the Sheldon Family could defy destiny and regain their peak these years is because of Ruby Sheldon’s birth.”

Lawrence Winters recalled the birth details of Ruby Sheldon he saw on that little paper figure.

”Her birth particulars were quite special. Converted into the Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches, they were the Year of Bingxu, Month of Guisi, Day of Bingyin, and Hour of Wuzi.”

”Simply put, it’s yang year, yang month, yang day, and yang hour.”

”A woman’s pure yang birth particulars are not beneficial for her, but when combined with the geomantic formation of the entire Wells Residence, it serves the function of an array hub.”

”A geomantic formation must have an array hub to activate and function.”

”I just never thought your family would actually use your own child as an array hub. Tsk tsk, really stopping at nothing for wealth.”

Autumn Stetford’s face changed dramatically and she cried out again, ”Shut up! What do you know?! It’s not at all as you said!”

She turned anxiously to Peter Grant, asking, ”Isn’t that right, Little Heavenly Master Grant?”

Peter Grant was stunned by Lawrence Winters’ words, but he came to his senses when he remembered his master’s teachings about geomantic formations, and hurriedly said, ”Madam Sheldon is right! This geomantic formation isn’t the way you’re describing it!”

He rubbed his now too tightly bound arms and said, ”Actually, when Miss Sheldon was born, her condition was very bad, she went through much hardship, and was even a premature baby, almost didn’t survive.”

”It was my master who used half a lifetime of effort to create this geomantic formation, saving Miss Sheldon’s life!”

”And the subsequent improvement in the Sheldon Family’s fortune was, we can only say, due to heaven’s virtue of preserving life. Miss Sheldon’s destiny is peculiar, having the fortune and nobility of kings! Saving her is saving the entire Sheldon Family!”

”Is that so?” Lawrence Winters chuckled with a soft laugh, then opened another surveillance camera.

”Look here, this is where Miss Sheldon stays in the Wells Residence Garden.”

”And before, we visited Cuijing Pavilion, which should have been the embroidery building of the Wells Residence, traditionally for the ladies of great families.”

”But Ruby Sheldon didn’t reside in Cuijing Pavilion, rather she stayed with Mr. and Mrs. Sheldon in the main room of the residence.”

”Such a young girl living in the main room was fundamentally detrimental to her destiny. Because she cannot bear it.”

”Isn’t Miss Sheldon often unwell, frequently falling ill?”

”Look at her living quarters, upon entering there’s a large fish tank, almost as tall as half a wall.”

”Her bedroom has a large mirror to the east, which projects the outside scenery onto Miss Sheldon’s dressing table.”

”And the dressing table is probably the place where she spends the most time. So that scenery actually projects onto her back.”

”This means that she ’carries’ the entire geomantic formation of the Wells Residence on her back. Because the center of the Wells Residence geomantic formation is in the main courtyard of the residence.”

”The Cuijing Pavilion we visited, its geomantic formation is all about gathering fortune. As long as no one resides there, the feng shui won’t be disturbed and will remain for descendants.”

”Because Cuijing Pavilion is the embroidery building, meant for women to live in. And in feng shui, women symbolize reproduction, unending life.”

”That is how the Sheldon Family’s feng shui fortunes have dramatically improved, which allowed them to soar over these twenty years!”

”But too much of anything can be harmful.”

”If your geomantic formation was done by the Great Heavenly Master Grant, he clearly neither left you nor himself any retreat!”

”As Miss Sheldon grows, the older she gets, the stronger her yang energy, the heavier the burden she ’carries’ becomes.”

”Tell me, isn’t it true that when she’s abroad, her health is better, but when she returns home, she frequently falls sick?”

After Lawrence Winters spoke, he carefully observed the expressions of Aiden Sheldon and Autumn Stetford.

He noticed Aiden Sheldon was slightly moved, lips parted as if wanting to speak with him.

But Autumn Stetford furrowed her brows, face full of worry, eyes locked on Ruby Sheldon’s face, with tears faintly shimmering in her eyes.

Lawrence Winters sighed in his heart, thinking, at least they still know how to care for their daughter, not devoid of humanity.

He clapped his hands and said with a smile, ”If you don’t speak, I’ll take it as you acquiesce.”

”You’re lucky, meeting me on Miss Sheldon’s twenty-first birthday.”

”If I hadn’t come today, Miss Sheldon might still fall ill, and might not recover from it. She wouldn’t live to see her twenty-second birthday and would die young.”

”Because today she sat at the main seat in the Fortune Pavilion, which is the last straw.” Lawrence Winters opened another surveillance camera at the Fortune Pavilion, ”Look, that position was initially Aiden Sheldon’s. By sitting there, she not only confirmed all her causes and effects but also took on part of Mr. Sheldon’s.”

”And after all these years of luxury, she hasn’t accumulated any virtue for herself.”

”Therefore, all factors combined, her lifespan is about to end.”

Lawrence Winters said regretfully, ”Although there are many misunderstandings between Miss Sheldon and me, there’s no irreconcilable hatred. And so heaven has the virtue of preserving life, since today I encountered her, it means heaven wants to give Miss Sheldon a chance at life.”

”Our Celestial Master Sect, Zhang Branch, advocates following the flow rather than acting on personal likes and dislikes.”

”Unlike the Grant Branch, always trying to defy destiny.”

Lawrence Winters didn’t forget to mock Peter Grant, ”Only to make such a mess of things that even they don’t know what they’re doing, and yet expect others to clean up after them.”

Peter Grant was almost furious, ”You can talk as much as you like, but why insult my sect?!”

”I’m not insulting your sect, it’s you insulting yourselves.” Lawrence Winters said plainly, ”These tricks today, aren’t they all done by you? Trying to use the Sheldon Family to attack our Zhang Branch? So your master can return to take over the Celestial Master Sect affairs?”

”I did not--!” Peter Grant was somewhat flustered, not wanting Lawrence Winters to continue.

He took a deep breath, suddenly moved swiftly, and a sweeping kick swept through at once.

Lawrence Winters indeed was a bit careless.

Just a while ago, she had tied Peter Grant up with a few moves and assumed this person had no skills.

So Peter Grant’s kick landed squarely on her shin.

In a moment of urgency, Lawrence Winters quickly kicked and jumped, defusing Peter Grant’s leg force, and took advantage of the momentum to twist in mid-air like a flying shuttle, spinning continuously.

In mid-air her skirts fluttered, blooming like a flower.

Everyone was dazzled, only feeling that in a blink of an eye, Lawrence Winters was like a nimble butterfly, from standing gracefully swaying to shadows crisscrossing in flight, then spinning like a whirlwind in mid-air, and finally back to a poised standing posture.

The entire process took less than ten seconds, but her hand had already firmly gripped Peter Grant’s throat, speaking nonchalantly, ”...you piece of trash!”

”Your eloquence isn’t as good as mine, your expertise isn’t as good as mine, and now even your skills aren’t as good as mine.”

”May I ask, is the Grant Branch out of successors?”

”Why would they take someone like you as a disciple?”

”Is it because you’re old, or because you stutter?”

”Or is it because your kneeling posture is so good-looking?!”

”With people like you, you want to unite the Celestial Master Sect leadership?!”

”Do you think our Zhang Branch is dead?!”
