Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 764: Chapter 393: Openly Meaningful (Second Update)

After searching for a long time, she found that Evan Stetford was actually sitting with Lawrence Winters, chatting and laughing...

Ruby Sheldon squinted her eyes, looked down at the tip of her shoes, and slowly walked towards where Lawrence Winters and Evan Stetford were talking.

She was the main character today. As she moved, many eyes followed her to the small round sofa in the corner of the room.

”Uncle, could you dance the first dance with me today? I really want to, and it would become one of the most beautiful memories of my life!”

”Uncle, can’t you give me this opportunity?” She winked at Evan, saying playfully, ”If you don’t want to, I’ll have to go find my mommy!”

Ruby Sheldon’s mom, Autumn Stetford, is Evan’s half-sister, and they usually get along well.

Ruby Sheldon wasn’t speaking quietly, so not only did the young boys and girls look over, but even the people in the circle of Mrs. Foster and Mrs. Sheng took notice.

They were only separated by a small square table from where Lawrence Winters and Evan Stetford sat, making it perfect for a live audience.

Lawrence Winters awkwardly tugged at the corners of his mouth, wanting to discreetly leave this ”hot spot,” wishing he could attach a sign to his face that read ”None of my business.”

But Ruby Sheldon didn’t let him leave as he wished. Instead, she looked at Lawrence Winters, tilting her head, and said, ”Sister Lawrence, can you help me talk to my uncle? I know he listens to you the most. As long as you say the word, he’ll definitely agree with you!”

Lawrence Winters: ”...”

She’s not as powerful as that, come on...

In front of so many people, Lawrence Winters indeed couldn’t pretend she hadn’t heard.

She had no choice but to raise her hand, comb her hair, and say with a smile, ”Miss Sheldon, you overestimate me. How could I have the influence to get the heirs of the Stetford Family and Blue Heavy Industries to do as I say? Please don’t make things difficult for me.”

”Sister Lawrence, don’t be so modest...” Ruby Sheldon laughed even more brightly, showing a hand as white as jade and saying, ”I just need my uncle for five minutes! Leading the dance takes just five minutes!”

”Sister Lawrence, will you? Will you? Will you? If you say it, my uncle will definitely agree!”

Of course, Lawrence Winters wouldn’t agree, but if Ruby Sheldon did this in front of so many people, it would seem like she and Evan Stetford have some unspeakable connection, which is not okay.

She is a married woman.

Evan Stetford didn’t expect Ruby Sheldon to pull this ”retreat to advance” move, dragging Lawrence Winters into it as well.

He was a bit annoyed, thinking he might just agree, after all, it’s just a dance, and it’s five minutes. Just dance it, then.

But Lawrence Winters stood up, held out her hand to Ruby Sheldon playfully, saying, ”Miss Sheldon, I really can’t persuade your uncle, but to make it up to you, how about I dance this dance with you?”

Ruby Sheldon: ”...”

Seeing Ruby Sheldon’s stunned face, Lawrence Winters smiled and continued, ”I may not know how to dance, but I’ve practiced martial arts, shouldn’t be much different. If I accidentally step on Miss Sheldon, it’s definitely not on purpose. I wonder if Miss Sheldon could give me this chance to serve you?”

Lawrence Winters even drew a half-circle with one hand in front of her, lowered it to her waist, then bowed slightly, extended her long leg, and made an inviting gesture.

Ruby Sheldon didn’t respond for a long time.

Lawrence Winters maintained her leg-extended, bent forward stance and only straightened up after a while, regretfully saying, ”Miss Sheldon doesn’t want to either, does she? — Do unto others as you would have them do unto you...”

She openly hinted at Ruby Sheldon’s previous ”forcing” behavior towards Evan Stetford.

Ruby Sheldon was jolted back, clenched her fist, and didn’t continue to ”force,” managing a strained smile as she said, ”Okay, since Sister Lawrence doesn’t want to...”

”Hey, Miss Sheldon, I’m not unwilling! I just invited you to dance, but you didn’t want to dance with me!” Lawrence Winters shouted, aggrieved, clutching her heart, almost heartbroken.

Her expression was more fitting than Ruby Sheldon’s, her face overwhelmed with hurt and discomfort, and her clear eyes seemed to shimmer with tears — she was on the verge of crying.

Ruby Sheldon: ”...”

So frustrating!

She could only stomp her foot, wanting to say her ”unwillingness” wasn’t what she meant.

But Lawrence Winters had already pushed her shoulder and spun her around, and the necklace on Ruby Sheldon’s neck carved a black light under the chandelier.

Lawrence Winters glanced at it, smiling to say, ”Well, the auspicious time has come. Miss Sheldon, please start the dance. If the timing is missed, the days to come for Miss Sheldon, sigh...”

Lawrence Winters appeared to be in a dilemma, yet there was a mischievous glint in her eyes.

Evan Stetford bit his lip, trying not to laugh.

Edward Foster finally found them, laughing as he also helped Lawrence Winters in amusement.

He called out to Ruby Sheldon’s former dance partner, ”William! Come over! Your dance partner is here, take her away quickly!”

Ruby Sheldon’s previously determined dance partner hurried over, extending his arm to Ruby Sheldon, ”Miss Sheldon, please.”

Everyone else was watching her and still laughing...

Ruby Sheldon gritted her teeth and took her partner’s arm.

She was still wearing that silver powder blue dress with a whalebone underskirt, gracefully heading to the center of the dance hall.

After the music paused for a moment, Ruby Sheldon and her dance partner bowed to each other, then began their elegant dance.

Lawrence Winters stood with her arms crossed over her chest, watching the two dancing in the center of the dance hall, tapping one foot lightly to the music.

Her face was smiling, but her mind was recalling the black necklace she had seen earlier on Ruby Sheldon’s neck.

She only glanced at it, yet she recognized it as having the same design as the pendant she wore, a Carp Pendant.

Just with a different material; Ruby Sheldon’s looked like black jade or obsidian.

Just some moments ago at Fortune Pavilion for a meal, Ruby Sheldon’s neck was clearly bare, not wearing the black Carp Pendant necklace.
