Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 759: Chapter 391: An Unexpectedly Familiar Face

Ruby Sheldon is today’s little birthday star, and this birthday party is being held for her. She’s sitting at the main seat, and everyone feels it’s quite appropriate.

Especially since her dad is willing to give it up, who are you, demon creature, to jump up in opposition?

Of course, everyone at Fortune Pavilion Restaurant are clever people, and no one wants to be the standout demon creature.

Only Lawrence Winters glanced up, curled the corner of his lips but said nothing.

However, when she glanced over, she noticed a man at that table was looking at her.

She didn’t know this man, but there was a faint feeling of camaraderie.

If her feelings were right, this man also knew about feng shui and face reading.

But judging by his age, at most in his forties, possibly only in his thirties, he couldn’t be too impressive.

Lawrence Winters nonchalantly averted his gaze to Edward Foster who was winking at her.

Edward Foster lifted a glass towards her.

Lawrence Winters also lifted her glass, responding to Edward Foster from afar.

In this short moment, Ruby Sheldon had already sat next to Evan Stetford.

On one side of her was Aiden Sheldon, on the other was Evan Stetford, and she was as satisfied as could be.

”Uncle, why aren’t you dancing? I remember you know how to dance, right? You danced in a movie...”

Ruby Sheldon, sitting beside Evan Stetford, was clearly still trying to work the possibility of the dance after dinner.

For the upcoming ballroom dance, she was the one to open the dance.

Even though her mom Autumn Stetford had found her a handsome man from a good family to open the dance with her, once she saw Evan Stetford, she only wanted to dance the first dance with him.

Evan Stetford shook the glass of red wine and said, ”Weren’t you going to dance the first dance with your father?”

Ruby Sheldon looked expectant, ”Of course, I’ll dance with Dad too, but what I really want is to dance with you, Uncle! Today is my birthday, can’t you make an exception just this once?”

”Betty, precisely because it’s your birthday, I can’t ruin your best memory...” Evan Stetford patiently explained to her, not annoyed, just feeling tired.

Seeing that he still wouldn’t agree, Ruby Sheldon felt quite disappointed inside, but she didn’t show it.

She quietly ate a little food and drank a bit of red wine, starting to feel a bit tipsy.

She turned to look at her father Aiden Sheldon, smiling as she said, ”Dad, during the opening dance, will you dance the first dance with me?”

Aiden Sheldon had a few glasses of whiskey and didn’t seem in a great mood.

He glanced at Ruby Sheldon and said in surprise, ”Didn’t your mom find someone to open the dance with you? Why the sudden change of plans?”

”But, I want to dance the first dance with Dad! I can dance the second with him!” Ruby Sheldon didn’t expect Aiden Sheldon to refuse and hurriedly explained.

”That’s your young people’s affair; I’m not getting involved.” Aiden Sheldon smiled, ”Besides, I don’t know how to dance...”

”Don’t know?” Gabriel Foster, who had been sitting quietly on the side, suddenly laughed and exposed Aiden Sheldon unmercifully: ”Back in the day, Brother Shen was the ’King of Dance’ at our university... From ballroom dances to flamenco, he could dance them all!”

Aiden Sheldon: Can I strangle that tactless Gabriel Foster???

Ruby Sheldon immediately opened her eyes wide and asked excitedly, ”Really? Dad, were you really a ’Dance Master’?!”

Aiden Sheldon certainly wouldn’t admit it. He gave Gabriel Foster an annoyed look, warningly said, ”...Mr. Foster might have remembered wrong? When was I ever a dance king?”

”Wasn’t it so? I heard it from Fiona; maybe she remembered wrong too...” Gabriel Foster raised an eyebrow, using a fork to pick up a strip of fresh veal and put it into his mouth.

After hearing Gabriel Foster mention his wife, Fiona Southgate, Aiden Sheldon couldn’t say anything further.

He and Fiona Southgate were once engaged to be married, but then...

The past was too painful to recall.

Aiden Sheldon had no choice but to pour himself another glass of whiskey. After taking a sip, he felt the urge to smoke and excused himself, ”Please excuse me,” and went outside to smoke.

Ruby Sheldon waited by his side for ages, but Aiden Sheldon never relented, and ultimately left alone.

Her mood dropped again, so she quietly finished all her food by herself, finally waiting for dessert to come.

Since it was her birthday, everyone’s dessert was a birthday cake.

Soon, the chef team’s leader himself wheeled out a huge pyramid-shaped birthday cake from the kitchen.

The band in the corner of the restaurant immediately started playing the ”Happy Birthday” song.

Everyone stood up, clapping and singing along to the song.
