Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 753: Chapter 388: A Guest Is a Guest

Passing through the courtyard adorned with green bamboo, walking through the moon gate, and turning left onto an antique-styled covered walkway.

The walkway is built over a small river surrounding the courtyard, with vintage lanterns hanging under the eaves on both sides. The clear river water reflects the brilliant lights, like a mirrored world.

Lawrence Winters walked along, taking in the scenery around him, completely dazzled.

Mrs. Fu and Mrs. Sheng were also thoroughly enjoying the view.

Although they had a good relationship with the Sheldon Family, the Sheldons rarely invited outsiders to their home unless they were relatives.

Normally, their gatherings were mostly held in large hotels or clubs outside.

This time, for Ruby Sheldon’s 21st birthday coming-of-age banquet, it was surprisingly hosted at their home, an unprecedented first.

Therefore, the scenery in the Sheldon Family’s Wells Residence Garden was new to most of today’s guests.

After all, it was a classical garden, especially known for its ever-changing scenery with each step.

For instance, after leaving the covered walkway, passing a hollowed-out white wall that separates the Cui Jing Pavilion from the Fortune Pavilion, the wooden lattice windows on it were all different shapes, not a single one was the same.

Lawrence Winters was amazed and impressed.

...

At this time, Ruby Sheldon followed Autumn Stetford’s personal assistant, riding an electric cart back to her residence in the main suite of the Wells Residence to change clothes.

The carefully chosen clothes were completely overshadowed by Lawrence Winters, and Ruby Sheldon’s mood was less than delightful.

However, recalling what her eldest sister had said, she tried her best to endure and not let her tears fall.

This personal assistant of Autumn Stetford was in charge of managing Autumn’s personal image, which is why she accompanied Ruby to change clothes.

After looking around Ruby’s dressing room for a while, she finally picked a knee-length silver-blue lace sleeveless dress with a deep V-neck and appliqué design.

The dress had an underskirt, which flared out the hem to a certain degree, making it somewhat resemble a ballet skirt.

The back was quite daring, revealing almost half of it.

The appliqué flowers were exquisitely delicate, with the bust wrapped in clusters of pink and blue roses, and small roses hanging like four little ribbons from the waist.

After putting it on, Ruby Sheldon spun around, and the roses on her seemed ready to take flight; she was like a little princess wrapped in roses.

The personal assistant changed Ruby Sheldon’s hairstyle, gathering all her hair into a bun piled on top of her head, then placed a tiara set with pink sapphires and diamonds on her.

The assistant looked at the transformed Ruby Sheldon in the mirror and said, ”Miss Sheldon, this tiara was once worn by a real princess, purchased by Mr. Sheldon at Sotheby’s auction last year.”

Looking at herself in the mirror, the silver-blue dress gave her a more glamorous allure, and the tiara encrusted with pink sapphires and diamonds was richly elegant.

She appeared both innocent and noble.

Comparing herself with Lawrence Winters, his dress seemed like an antique from the last century.

If she’d known, she would have chosen this dress and not worn that haute couture piece.

Ruby Sheldon smoothed her dress hem, turned around satisfied.

The personal assistant quickly draped a large silver Hermès peony silk scarf over her shoulders as a shawl.

Ruby Sheldon beamed at her reflection in the mirror and left her residence with Autumn Stetford’s personal assistant, heading to the Fortune Pavilion for the banquet.

The electric cart was indeed fast.

By the time they arrived, the ladies had not yet come over, but the gentlemen were already there.

Most people had already gone inside to be seated, with only a few standing and chatting on the spacious green outside the Fortune Pavilion.

The assistant quickly said to Ruby Sheldon, ”Miss Sheldon, I’ll go check how things are with Madam.”

”Alright, you go ahead.” Ruby Sheldon adjusted her shawl and began looking for her father.

Just then, a tall, robust man approached, smiling, ”Betty, you look lovely tonight.”

Ruby Sheldon looked up and saw it was her elder brother, Nathan Sheldon, and immediately smiled, ”Brother, you must dance the first dance with me later!”

Nathan Sheldon nodded with a smile, ”It would be my honor. Our little princess will surely have many men lined up to dance with her tonight.”

”I don’t want to dance with other men. I’ll only dance with you, Dad, and Uncle together.” Ruby Sheldon counted on her fingers.

Nathan Sheldon, with his hands in the pockets of his tailcoat pants, gently said, ”What about your second brother? Have you forgotten Ryan?”

”Hmph, Ryan already has a fiancée, he won’t dance with me.” Ruby Sheldon snorted lightly, wrinkling her small nose, her expression cute and playful.
