Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 752: Chapter 387: There Are No Coincidences Among Enemies (First Update)

She was startled and immediately let go.

The little Pekingese plopped to the ground and was almost dazed.

Wherever it fell, it couldn’t even stand properly, barely managing to prop up its two short front legs while dragging the two little back legs on the ground.

It raised its fluffy snow-white head, looking innocently at Ruby Sheldon, its two black eyes moist, and it made a small ”woo-woo” sound as if not understanding why its little owner suddenly didn’t want it anymore.

Was Ruby Sheldon even paying attention to it?

She just frowned, continuously rubbing her hand over her newly changed dress, wanting to wipe off the sticky stuff.

She didn’t know it was red wine, just thought it was some dirt the little Pekingese picked up somewhere.

Autumn Stetford’s face turned cold, and she gave her personal secretary a look.

The secretary, drenched in sweat from fear, quickly came over, picked up the little Pekingese from the ground while saying to Ruby Sheldon, ”Miss, please come with me to change clothes. It’s almost time for dinner...”

Ruby Sheldon initially wanted to throw a tantrum, but then thought about how she would get to see her father and brothers at dinner, so she immediately nodded and said aggrievedly, ”I’ll go with you...”

She lifted her skirt and followed behind the secretary, quickly walking out.

Just as she stepped outside, a tall woman wearing a form-fitting long dress in bamboo green silk came over from the moon gate.

She gracefully crossed the courtyard, reaching the steps of the Jade View Pavilion.

Ruby Sheldon followed Autumn Stetford’s secretary just down the steps.

The gentle lights crisscrossed in the courtyard, and Ruby recognized this woman as her second brother Ryan Sheldon’s fiancée, Bianca, nicknamed Sister Three Billion.

When Sister Three Billion saw Ruby’s disheartened look, so different from the morning, she raised her eyebrows in surprise and asked, ”Betty, what’s wrong? We’re about to start the banquet, and you’re the star of the day!”

Ruby Sheldon pouted, looking at Sister Three Billion with a sobbing voice, ”Sister Bianca, I’m having such a hard time...”

As if wanting to complain.

Sister Three Billion nonchalantly stopped her and said with a smile, ”Betty, make sure not to cry! Today is your coming-of-age birthday, if you cry, the days ahead will all be filled with sorrow! Come on, smile! Yes! That’s the way! May our birthday girl have many happy returns in the future!”

With just a couple of words, she managed to stop Ruby’s tears, so much so that she didn’t dare to use her sobbing voice.

Sister Three Billion touched her face, smiling as she said, ”Alright, what are you going to do now? The guests have all arrived, right?”

Autumn Stetford’s personal secretary quickly said, ”Miss Shen’s clothes accidentally got dirty just now. She needs to change.”

Sister Three Billion was even more surprised, ”Didn’t you just change? How did it get dirty again? Who did it?”

Autumn Stetford’s personal secretary dared not speak, awkwardly smiling.

Ruby Sheldon pressed her lips together and sighed, ”It’s just my bad luck. I’ll go change now, and I’ll head directly to the dining room. Sister Chu, please inform my mom for me.”

She followed Autumn Stetford’s secretary, walking listlessly.

Even though Sister Three Billion found it suspicious, it was almost time to start the banquet, so she had to notify everyone.

This time, the Sheldon Family held a twenty-first birthday coming-of-age banquet for Ruby Sheldon. Besides a professional team organizing and planning it, Autumn Stetford specifically had Sister Three Billion represent the Sheldon Family to review the progress of the professional team.

This was also her way of training Sister Three Billion.

Sister Three Billion knew this, so she worked hard to learn.

With Ryan Sheldon’s support, even Ruby Sheldon easily complied with her and didn’t dare to act up.

Sister Three Billion pondered Ruby’s earlier expression as she stepped into the Jade View Pavilion’s living room.

After entering and casually scanning around, she was immediately drawn to Lawrence Winters standing under those Western master’s oil paintings on the north wall of the living room.

Upon seeing the dress she wore, Sister Three Billion instantly understood the ”feat” of Ruby changing three outfits in just ten minutes today...

Truly, what a coincidence...

Sister Three Billion pursed her lips, smiling as she glanced towards the crowd, found Autumn Stetford, and quickly walked over.

”Auntie, everything at the Fortune Pavilion is prepared. Would you like to take the distinguished guests over?” Sister Three Billion whispered upon reaching Autumn Stetford’s side.

Autumn Stetford was quite satisfied with Sister Three Billion, a girl her son loved and whom she also found agreeable.

She had no demands regarding Ryan Sheldon’s wife regarding family background.

The Sheldon Family was already the number one aristocratic family in the country, who could compare in status?

Moreover, since Ryan Sheldon wasn’t the heir, a highly pedigreed wife would be more of a disadvantage than an advantage.

So her requirements for Ryan’s wife had always been good appearance and high intelligence.

On both counts, Sister Three Billion made her increasingly satisfied.

This time, she efficiently managed Ruby Sheldon’s coming-of-age birthday banquet.

Autumn Stetford nodded approvingly at Sister Three Billion, ”Much appreciated.”

She took Sister Three Billion’s hand and said loudly to the people in the living room, ”Thank you all for coming today. The banquet is ready at the Fortune Pavilion, please enjoy a drink. After the banquet, there’s a coming-of-age ball, and ladies, remember to change into your dancing dresses!”

Lawrence Winters was intrigued and quietly asked Mrs. Fu, ”... there’s a ball too?”

”Yes, the Sheldon Family, I heard, is hosting it according to the standards of a very famous royal coming-of-age banquet abroad. After dinner, young ladies under twenty-one can choose a gentleman they like to dance the Western court dances with.”

Lawrence Winters smirked, thinking that she could pull off a Qingfeng Wuying Fist, but dance?

She hadn’t learned.

And had no plans to step in.

She lifted her head from the crowd and caught sight of Sister Three Billion giving her a meaningful look.

Lawrence Winters understood, nodded with a smile, and walked towards the door with Mrs. Fu and Mrs. Sheng.
