Chapter 1348: Chapter 576: Ingrid of Norsca (Part 3)

”...Lady Ingrid, do you really know how to get to Tiriel?” Hadrian complained.

”Just go east, right? I know Tiriel is to the east.” Ingrid was quite confident.

”To go east, you have to pass through the Withered Swamp...” Hadrian covered his face with his hand, the big merchant thought, arguing with the Norsca people was indeed pointless, he gave up.

”We are also heading to Tiriel, why don’t you join us for the time being?” Fugen expressed interest.

”Why should I follow you guys?” The Female Barbarian said somewhat unhappily, ”That sounds like you’re pitying me, I don’t want that.”

Fugen glanced at Hadrian, and Hadrian immediately got the hint. The big merchant quickly said, ”We’re thinking for your best interest, Lady Ingrid. You’ve offended those Lady Kislev at the docks, and you’re alone without any money. They have plenty of ways to harass you; do you want to be awakened five or six times while sleeping, or have someone pour boiling water on you from an upper floor on the street?”

”It does sound like that’s the case.” Ingrid nodded, ”Alright then, I will stick with you for the time being, but I’m not your prisoner, nor a servant. Let me be considered one of you! If there’s a fight, you can’t go wrong looking for me!”

Fugen had an extremely confident smile on his face and simply shrugged. His subordinate, Company Commander Pedro, immediately understood and said to the maid standing at the door, ”Take this lady downstairs, open a new room for her. We’ll cover the costs.”

”Is there anything else you need?” The maid looked somewhat disappointed to find no other requests, she added.

The maid had witnessed how wealthy this group was! Followed by Fugen’s dozen officers, each carrying enchanted full plate armor, adorned with expensive jewelry and various gold and silver decorations. As for Fugen and Hadrian, it was unnecessary to say more; clearly, they were at the pinnacle of wealth in the Old World. In the Southern Realm, the Ash Legion’s affluence and mercenary recruitment were no longer news, and Hadrian’s Luigi Commerce Association is one of the largest and richest merchant associations in the Old World.

Reality left her disappointed, as no one in the room spoke up to retain her.

Remembering recent events, the maid felt even worse inside. She could only bow respectfully and then led Ingrid out of the room.

That evening, Fugen, Hadrian, and Pedro entered the Eastern Palace, where they dined with Amancio Perez, the president of the Estalia Merchant Alliance. The two sides negotiated many cooperative intentions. Due to having dined with Laine before and reached several agreements, Amancio and Fugen had much to talk about. This wealthy merchant greatly appreciated the strength and wealth of the Ash Legion and commissioned Fugen to assist in cleaning beastman tribes in the mountains.

The delicious Estalian seafood rice and sherry made everyone feel very pleasant. As the banquet progressed, Amancio said with a laugh, ”Speaking of which, Lord Fugen, do you intend to hire elite troops to help you continue your expedition in Lustria?”

”That’s right.” Fugen’s elegance and aristocratic demeanor left a deep impression on everyone, as if he was naturally meant to be there.

”Well, it so happens that I can introduce someone to you.” Amancio chuckled with joy, signaling the servant to bring the person in.

From the depths of the palace, resolute footsteps were heard, and a tall, strong Lady Kislev appeared before everyone.

A true soldier, with tightly knit brows, wide-open mouth, prominent cheekbones, sunken eyes, fiery gaze, dense moustache and little moustache. He wore a set of tattered Kislev noble garments, and his pair of leather boots were polished cleaner than ever.

”Felix Edmundovich, former General of the Kislev Winged Cavalry ’Jierren’ Legion. He and his winged cavalry battalion can surely be of help to you!”
