Chapter 1310: Chapter 562: The Final Siege

PS: Finally caught up, it wasn’t easy.

”I need your Blood Dragon Bloodline to swear here, never to return to the Knight Kingdom.” Laine, blinded by money, swallowed hard and said with some difficulty, ”Otherwise, this agreement is meaningless.”

”Fine.” Alboim Wallace’s face was full of arrogance and confidence. Rarely had Laine seen someone with such extreme self-assurance and pride; Alboim Wallace was one, his brother Angerong was another, and Landuin was yet another.

This Blood Dragon Ancestor was absolutely confident in his own strength. The confidence in his eyes was enough to support him in making any decision, fulfilling any idea. In short, Alboim Wallace, Angerong, and Landuin were alike in that they believed their martial prowess could break through all difficulties and destroy all enemies.

Only those who have experienced trials and endured all imagined tests can develop such confidence.

Laine suddenly felt a sense of regret, and couldn’t help but recall the unfinished duel with Landuin.

Yes, the unfinished duel.

In truth, the duel between Laine and Landuin wasn’t fair. The unfairness lay in the fact that Landuin, with Holy Sanctuary Peak nearing demigod strength, was fighting Laine, a Holy Sanctuary Initial Tier Holy Grail Knight. The other unfairness was that as a living person, Laine’s stamina and injuries could recover infinitely, a trait determined by his strong regenerative ability as a Genetic Primarch.

But Landuin’s stamina and injuries wouldn’t recover because he was already dead; the Lake Fairy’s Divine Power could only temporarily revive him and couldn’t truly make him living again. This ensured that Landuin would grow weaker as the battle went on, his injuries would become more severe, and his stamina would deplete further.

To put it bluntly, Laine managed to barely defeat Landuin by relying on his ability to endure and fight until Landuin’s stamina was exhausted. If Landuin were alive, who knows how long it would take to determine the victor.

”In that case, we have a deal.” After seeing Alboim Wallace nod, Laine breathed a sigh of relief and spoke gloomily, ”How are you going to take away your bloodline? I know that besides the Blood Dragon Family’s Vampires, there are others in Musillon City. I only promised to spare the Blood Dragon Race Vampires, not all the undead.”

”Once you breach Musillon, I will naturally enter the city to take away all my bloodline.” The Blood Dragon Ancestor was absolutely confident about this, his voice filled with calmness: ”You just focus on conquering the city.”

”Understood.” Laine nodded, looking warily at the Blood Dragon Ancestor, seemingly hesitating whether to leave now or call someone to move the wealth away.

”Leave it to me.” His Highness the Green Knight’s ethereal voice came: ”I will transport these riches to your castle in Gene along with the Children of Loss.”

”Thank you very much, Your Highness the Green Knight.” Laine quickly expressed his gratitude to the Green Knight.

”Go then, conquer Musillon, fulfill Landuin’s wish. This land has been lost for too long and it needs redemption.” The Green Knight slowly nodded, indicating that Laine could prepare for the siege.

”Young knight.” Just as Laine turned to leave, the Blood Dragon Ancestor spoke: ”I look forward to a duel with you; there will inevitably be a battle between us.”

”But not now.” Laine turned back; he knew Alboim Wallace was excited by the hunt.

This is the Blood Dragon. Alboim Wallace’s life creed was to have perfect control of the art of battle. For other vampires, they enjoy indulgence, crave dominion, and study magic. For the Blood Dragon Family, however, these are secondary; the Blood Dragon Race truly cares only about battle. They believe their pursuit of purity will bring them everything, becoming ultimate warriors and surpassing vampire limitations, touching the realm of the gods.

Just like Alboim Wallace standing on the mountaintop, using mortal arms to lift and throw down the Red Fire Dragon from the cliff.

”Taste no blood, not for the edge.”

—Blood Dragon Ancestor Alboim Wallace

”Indeed, not now.” Alboim Wallace’s voice bore excitement: ”I’ve already fought with some golden corncobs in your territory, it brought me joy. I enjoy worthy opponents like this.”

”???!!!”

”Go, break through Musillon, and I will appear when the time comes.” The Blood Dragon Ancestor said no more, gesturing for Laine to leave: ”Aside from my progeny, do as you wish with the other undead in Musillon.”

”I understand.” Laine couldn’t help but glance again at the astonishing wealth within the chest, smiled self-deprecatingly as a flash of insight crossed his eyes. He understood why even the Emperor would compromise on certain issues.

Because circumstances outweigh individuals, even the Master of Humans faces painful decisions on many issues. Many times, ideals are just slogans; if they cannot connect with reality, all is empty talk.

This is what the old man always taught Laine: In diplomacy and internal affairs, there are things you insist on, and things you learn to compromise.

At this juncture, Laine needed money so badly that he had to compromise when faced with so much money.

Allowing the Blood Dragon Ancestor to take his bloodline away was a compromise.

Having them swear never to return to the Knight Kingdom was insistence.

”There is both principle and discretion in courtesy.” Laine muttered a phrase as his figure vanished into the depths of the forest.
