Chapter 1076: Chapter 469: The Grand Plan

”You are an Ancient Saint.” When Mazda Moody looked at the Master of Humans standing before it, it spoke calmly.

”...” This time, the Emperor surprisingly did not refute. He simply stood quietly in place.

”But you are not the Ancient Saint we expected, you are not our master.” The Great Demon Lord shook its head repeatedly: ”You are merely an unlikely Messiah.”

Unlikely Messiah? Fugen frowned. What was Mazda Moody talking about?

”...It doesn’t matter what I am.” The Emperor spoke without intention to argue: ”But I believe we need to communicate.”

”Come with me, young Ancient Saint.” The Demon Toad’s face showed no expression.

The massive Pyramid opened its doors before the Master of Humans...

Within the ancient and profound Pyramid, the Demon Toad Mazda Moody ascended its Holy Throne, gazing upon the wondrous and magnificent ancient Pyramid, Sun Stone Monument, and Moon Stone Monument, silent.

The Emperor’s gaze was directed at the clear pond.

Beneath the pond was a pattern of stars.

In the dark Galaxy, a black fissure split the entire Galaxy in half.

A human with a crown on its head and a ”U” symbol on its shoulder, holding a Longsword burning with golden flames, declared its return.

”Roboute Kiliman?” At first, Fugen found it hard to believe, but then he saw the image of the Eldar Death God’s Chosen Inanis in the mural at the bottom of the pool.

If father had not returned because of Laine’s efforts, would Kiliman have been revived by the power of the Eldar Death God?

The Primarch of the Emperor’s Sons pondered.

”Young Ancient Saint, what do you intend to do upon returning to this world?” Mazda Moody hardly seemed to care what the Emperor might do, perhaps even speaking without basic respect: ”What can you offer to the Great Plan?”

”Your plan?” The Emperor frowned, seemingly accustomed to the Toad’s indifference.

These creatures were the servants created by the Ancient Saints; they are truly cold-blooded species.

What defines a cold-blooded species?

Useful ones are kept, useless ones discarded, orders are executed; they never consider emotions or relationships. Their existence is solely to complete the Great Plan left by the Ancient Saints, and everything that doesn’t align must be destroyed.

For this reason, these slaves of the Ancient Saints have spent over ten thousand years.

So why execute the Great Plan? What is the significance of completing the Great Plan?

That’s not a question for these cold-blooded species to consider. As long as it’s to complete the Grand Plan, they ally as needed, wage war as needed, show no pity for former allies, nor refuse alliances with past enemies.

”The Great Plan is our mission. When the Star Gate was destroyed, our Master departed, leaving us with the mission to guard this world. This is the will of the Ancient Saints, and we are to carry it out,” Mazda Moody spoke slowly, sensing the power behind the creation, a light bright enough to illuminate the entire Galaxy: ”You have inherited the legacy of the Ancient Saints.”

”What is the Great Plan?” The Emperor’s response sounded irrelevant.

Mazda Moody did not answer.

In fact, despite thousands of years of discussion, the Shilan have yet to arrive at a unified conclusion on the Great Plan, as many contents of the prophecy stones left by the Ancient Saints remain unclear, with each Shilan having its own perspective.

And the Ancient Saints who truly knew what the Great Plan was have all left, the first generation of Shilan have all perished.

Behind the surface of a few words lies countless spiritual communications; the Demon Toad is using formidable power to communicate with the Master of Humans, seemingly unafraid or uncaring of the Emperor’s power.

No one knows what the Emperor and Mazda Moody discussed.

After a long time, Mazda Moody spoke again: ”If what you say is true, young Ancient Saint, it presents a matter worthy of attention. After these tens of thousands of years since we lost the guidance of the Ancient Saints, no one can interpret those ancient stone tablets or retrieve and decipher the technology shelved away.”

”If you, the servants of the Ancient Saints, permit, I can interpret the contents of those tablets for you, and I can retrieve and decipher those lost technologies.” The Emperor’s cold eyes radiated a sharp light: ”This is not a request; it is a demand.”

After engaging with the Demon Toad’s mind, the Master of Humans understood how much sacrifice these Sons of Order had made to fight evil.

Back then, millions of Lizardman legions are now but a sliver of their former glory, maintaining the Great Guardian depends on hundreds of Shilan, exhausting their whole life force and energy. They fixed themselves atop the Pyramid and Pyramid, using their lives to continue the Great Guardian.

However, this is not without cost; Shilan, creations of the Ancient Saints, cannot reproduce without their guidance. Though ageless and undying, the frequent wars and the invasions of demons continue to wear down the Shilan race.

Still, they persist, not knowing why they guard, why they offer everything to battle Chaos Demons, but they persist, for it is the command of the Ancient Saints.

In some ways, they are much like the Emperor who sits upon the Golden Throne.
