Chapter 1053: Chapter 459: Daughter-in-Law and ”Daughter-in-Law” (Part 2)

Angerong, using a small knife to eat the roast lamb chops, glanced at Clarkson with some displeasure, hinting that he shouldn’t have brought it up. Meanwhile, Lorgar’s eyes lit up. From Angerong’s understanding, the Primarch of the Word Bearers was undoubtedly eager to learn about what the so-called ”Alien Deities” were, what they believed in, their doctrines, and the organization of their Church.

”I know.” The Emperor said lightly, tearing off a piece of succulent roast lamb with his teeth: ”I observe everything about him, including the aliens around him.”

”Father, then why do you do this?” Lorgar was very excited: ”Didn’t you emphasize that we must...”

”That’s Laine, the culmination of my and Macado’s power and wisdom; he is different from you.” The Emperor continued: ”He is not subject to corruption.”

”...” Hearing this, Lorgar almost wanted to stab the Emperor’s face with the fork in his hand.

Turns out he’s the real son, right?

”Kiliman also mingles with aliens, and Saint Gile collaborates with the undead.” Clarkson continued: ”Does this mean your views have changed in some way, Father?”

”Handling problems varies with circumstances, that’s why I agreed to a ceasefire with the Eldar Death God Army.” The Emperor shook his head: ”The faith of the Lake Fairy is similar to the spirit of the Imperial Knights, using the Knightly Path and chivalric spirit to set a series of moral guidelines, inspiring mortals to courageously fight against evil. In this light, she brings positive influence to Laine.”

”Surya has quite a pure human bloodline, and she will bear with Laine a healthy and strong offspring. I look forward to that day... Of course, I must give her a warning.” After saying this, the Emperor fell silent.

Once the whole roast lamb was consumed, the Imperial Guard brought out two large platters of roast chicken and a suckling pig, along with two baskets of fresh vegetables and fruits, and a golden double-headed eagle statue.

The Lake Fairy, dressed in a tiered black swan fringed ruffle gown, was bound to the statue with golden chains. Her divine power was sealed by the Emperor, rendering her as fragile as a mortal. Her graceful figure was constrained, her senses suppressed by the supreme power of the Master of Humans, with her eyes blindfolded by a black cloth, her mouth sealed with sacred texts, only able to make ”mmm mmm” sounds.

Clearly, the Goddess felt despair in such a situation, struggling desperately as the chains bound her delicate wrists and ankles, preventing any movement.

”Hehehe~” Both Angerong and Lorgar laughed, while Clarkson nodded: ”A warning... is very necessary.”

......

When Surya was about to meet Laine’s biological father, she was initially surprised, then alarmed. The female knight, rarely in such disarray, anxiously opened her entire wardrobe, looking at her clothes and shoes, pacing back and forth in worry, not knowing what to do.

The female knight had once received a hint from the Lake Fairy, vaguely aware of the status of Laine’s true father, eager to leave a good impression on him.

Her marriage with Laine is extremely happy and sweet. Surya knows how many women in the entire Kingdom, even the whole Old World, are envious, jealous, and hateful, not to mention there’s a future Female Prince-Elector in the backyard! She couldn’t afford to show any flaw, for love is like a battlefield. Surya’s personality is gentle and generous, but this does not mean she doesn’t understand courtly intrigue; quite the opposite, she understands it too well.

”To meet Father, you don’t need to dress up deliberately, just wear what you usually wear.” Laine said with a bitter smile, pointing at the Dwarf-made mechanical standing clock: ”Father’s time is precious, don’t keep him waiting.”

”But...” Surya was still indecisive when Laine pulled the female knight into his arms, kissing her cheek: ”Don’t worry, Father acknowledges you, my wife.”

”Then... alright then.” Surya eventually cautiously chose the standard Brittania Marchioness attire. Once dressed neatly, Laine embraced her, mounted the pure-blooded elf warhorse, and swiftly headed towards the Forest Cottage from the manor.

The newly appointed Empress will meet the Emperor in the wintry snow of the Winter Festival.

Initially, when Surya saw Laine’s other two brothers, Lorgar and Clarkson, the female knight thought that Laine’s brothers were indeed some strange individuals.

Lorgar’s face was inscribed with indecipherable scriptures, displaying a vacant yet fanatic expression, much like an ascetic monk who temporarily lost his purpose after killing an enemy, in a state of confusion.

Clarkson’s skin was pale as snow, his expression cold as frost, with a pair of raven wings spread behind him, giving off a rather intimidating vibe. When he saw the female knight appear, Clarkson barely nodded.

However, when the female knight shifted her gaze to the face of the leading personage, she was stunned.

The Emperor was unhelmeted; his sacred and noble face, with eyes full of endless majesty, gazed at Laine’s wife. A face that gathered all the miracles and light of this world, capable of inspiring eternal loyalty the moment one saw it, was filled with memories and sorrow.

Surya had seen countless statues of deities from the old world and had even witnessed the Lake Fairy appear before her, but never had she seen anyone who was worshiped and admired so sincerely, someone so worthy of fervent trust and adoration. His every move was so sacred that Surya instinctively wanted to kneel.
