Chapter 1054: Chapter 459: Daughter-in-Law and ”Daughter-in-Law” (Part 3)

This is the dignity of the Master of Humans.

The female knight’s knee slightly bent and was supported by a formidable golden force. The Master of Humans looked at his daughter-in-law, a smile appeared on his face: ”No need to kneel, no need to kneel, Surya? Can I call you that?”

”Of course, godfather...” Surya felt genuine fear. The female knight didn’t even know what she should do, as she had never met such a holy person. The golden battle armor, adorned with a soaring eagle on the shoulders, reflected gold in the winter light. Surya did not know his name and instinctively used the customary address. In this world, one would either call their husband’s father by name or refer to him as godfather. Surya did not know his name; she looked to Laine for help, but Laine could only silently shake his head.

”Very well.” The Emperor carefully scrutinized the stunning and noble female knight, a slight warmth melting the coldness of his expression: ”You chose to marry Laine, very good. You are the Empress that I have appointed. In the future, you will continue to fulfill and enjoy your identity as Laine’s wife.”

”Yes.” Surya dared not say much more; she was even a bit scared. What kind of Supreme Being was Laine’s father? Why did this Supreme Being leave his bloodline in Nord and have mortals raise them to maturity?

There are so many mysteries surrounding Laine. Surya found that whenever she unveiled a little, more fog enveloped Laine.

She always felt proud and proud of it, for that was her husband, her man.

”You may not fully understand my existence, Laine’s origin, or what the surname Macado means, but that is alright. This will not be our last meeting. You are my daughter-in-law, and you are currently the only recognized wife of Laine.” The Emperor’s words seemed to hint at something: ”Just fulfill your duties, that is the greatest help to me.”

The Emperor revealed a smile, Surya felt her heart beating proudly, not without reason. The golden radiance emerged again from the Emperor’s body, a cold golden glow pierced into the ample chest of the female knight, vanishing into form: ”There will be a day when it is needed.”

Then, the Emperor turned to Laine and said: ”I am about to go to Lustria to meet with Fugen. Laine, my son, be prepared for when the moment comes, honor awaits for you to win. Your illustrious career has just begun. Your story will be sung by future generations until the stars fall and the Milky Way dims.”

”I understand, father.” Laine expressed acknowledgment as he held Surya, carefully tending to his wife’s pale face due to the severe shock: ”I will be with Surya together.”

”It seems that many wish to become my daughter-in-law.” The Emperor waved his mighty hand, and under Laine’s somewhat speechless and Surya’s shocked gaze, the Lake Fairy fixed atop the golden double-headed eagle statue was pushed forward by the Emperor’s Guard. The Goddess’s dress fluttered in the cold winter wind like a helpless iris, desperately struggling.

The Master of Humans signaled the Imperial Guard to remove the Lake Fairy’s blindfold and scriptures. The beautiful Goddess struggled laboriously, pleadingly saying: ”I mean no hostility towards you, Supreme Being beyond the Star Domain. I only seek to become your daughter-in-law! I am together with Surya!”

”Did I acknowledge that?” The Emperor’s words, as cold as millennia-old ice, pierced the Goddess’s heart.

”No, you can’t do this, you have acknowledged Surya, why can’t you acknowledge me?” The Lake Fairy said anxiously. She now truly panicked; if the Supreme Being before her refused to recognize her, all her plans, her love, and her future grand vision would be shattered!

”You should be grateful that I do not kill you; that is already the greatest mercy.”
