Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 2240: Chapter 2241: Hurt (1)

”Anyway,” Su Chengyu continued, ”you don’t often meet Ning Zihan, so in the future, you just exchange a few polite words when you do meet, and for the rest of the time, just pretend he doesn’t exist. It’s not that hard to do. It’s all for my sake, Dad! Can you think of it that way?”

”Alright, alright,” Su Haoyu had to compromise and agree. ”I’ll endure it for you, you brat.”

Su Chengyu sighed with relief and smiled. Then he became troubled again: ”But should we tell Baobei about Ning Zihan’s lie that Wen Xian is his girlfriend?”

Su Changyi replied expressionlessly, ”If you and Ning Wenxian end up together, Baobei will eventually meet Ning Wenxian and naturally learn about her relationship with Ning Zihan, so it’s better to tell Baobei sooner.”

An Jing agreed, ”I also think it’s better to tell Baobei sooner, to prevent her from thinking not only that Ning Zihan is deceiving her, but that we are too, since we know but are not telling her.”

Su Haoyu nodded in agreement to letting An Baobei know.

Su Chengyu then said, ”Then, after Baobei’s live stream is over, we’ll tell her.”

Suddenly, Su Chengyu became a bit worried: ”Last time, the news said Ning Zihan had a girlfriend, and Baobei went to E City to see that girlfriend. This time, knowing that she’s not Ning Zihan’s girlfriend but his biological sister, Baobei might feel deceived and go to E City again.”

An Jing sighed and said, ”At most, she’ll ask Ning Zihan why he did it, but she won’t cling to him shamelessly.”

Su Changyi, Su Haoyu, and Su Chengyu immediately thought of Ning Zihan’s complaint about An Baobei pestering him, and none of them were very happy.

When An Baobei finished her live stream, it was nine o’clock in the evening. As soon as she left the streaming room, a servant invited her to the living room again.

An Baobei, puzzled, came to the living room and saw that her parents, grandfather, and second uncle were all still there. She was surprised and then smiled, ”Is there some big news you want to tell me? Mom isn’t even asleep yet.”

Her mom was pregnant, and usually, her dad insisted that she be asleep by nine o’clock.

”Baobei, come over here.” An Jing smiled and motioned for An Baobei to sit next to her.

Once An Baobei sat down, Su Chengyu recounted the situation again. After listening, An Baobei realized she had been deceived, but she remained particularly calm.

Seeing An Baobei so calm, everyone was very worried.

Su Chengyu couldn’t help but speak up, ”Baobei, don’t hold it in. If you’re upset, your second uncle will go with you to E City to give Ning Zihan a lesson.”

An Baobei shook her head and smiled, ”There’s no need.” After a pause, she added, ”He lied to me because he didn’t want me to pester him. If I go to E City again, he might think I’m pestering him again.”

Honestly, the word ’pester’ really hurt An Baobei.

Half a year ago, she did often contact Ning Zihan, but she never thought of herself as pestering him.

If she had known that Ning Zihan considered her contact as pestering, she would have stopped contacting him long ago.

She never expected Ning Zihan to dislike her to such an extent, using such harsh words like ’pester.’

In her feelings for him, she loved him quite humbly, but she’s not lowly. If he had said earlier that it was pestering, she would absolutely cut ties with him. She can bear a moment of humility, but she cannot tolerate even a second of being lowly!

To say she’s pestering him implies that, in his heart, she’s considered lowly.
