Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 2233: Chapter 2234: Ning Zihan, You Big Liar (Part 4)

Since my little sister has come all the way here, and she is my real sister, Ning Zihan doesn’t want to make things difficult for her, so he relents a bit: ”I’ll return tomorrow night, tonight I’m busy.”

He truly has something important tonight, he has to dine with a big boss, to discuss cooperation between their two companies.

”Alright then.” After all, her brother promised to return tomorrow night, so Ning Wenxian doesn’t insist on him coming back today.

Ning Zihan ignores her.

Regarding her brother not looking at her even once since she entered, Ning Wenxian feels a bit hurt yet finds it amusing: ”Bro, you carry on then, I’m heading back.”

With that, Ning Wenxian turns around and leaves.

Ning Zihan continues to work, not even raising his head.

Once out of the CEO’s office, Ning Wenxian heads to the elevator, stops at its doors, presses the button, and the doors open. Before she steps in, someone rushes out of the elevator, colliding right into her.

Su Chengyu arrived in E City at nine in the morning, but he first dealt with matters concerning the bar there. Now that it’s taken care of, he comes looking for Ning Zihan for a reckoning. As soon as the elevator doors open, he doesn’t check if there’s anyone in his way and dashes out in a hurry.

And then, he bumps into someone.

Unable to halt his momentum, he knocks the person down, and not only does the person fall, but he also stumbles down, landing heavily on them.

Though he can’t see the person clearly yet, feeling the soft contact, he guesses it must be a woman.

Ning Wenxian never expected to be knocked down, grimacing in pain. Her head will probably swell up.

Moreover, the person fell right onto her, and she grimaces in pain again.

”I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean it, it was really unintentional.” Su Chengyu hastily gets up, helping the person he bumped and landed on to get up as well.

Once Ning Wenxian is helped up, Su Chengyu finally has the presence of mind to notice Ning Wenxian’s face. Seeing her clearly, Su Chengyu freezes, dumbstruck, with his heart pounding furiously.

Ning Wenxian has an oval face, large eyes, a prominent nose, red lips, long hair with slightly curled ends. Even though her brows are furrowed from the pain, it doesn’t hide her natural elegance and gentle demeanor.

Initially quite annoyed at being bumped, once the apology is given, and it wasn’t intentional, Ning Wenxian lets it go. While rubbing the actual swelling on the back of her head, she frowns and says: ”It’s alright. But my head has a swelling; I need to get it checked at the hospital. If there’s any issue, you’ll have to take responsibility.”

Although generally easy-going, she won’t let herself suffer losses. If she ends up with a concussion, ’sorry’ isn’t going to cut it.

Su Chengyu remains stunned, still staring at Ning Wenxian, with his heart pounding still, naturally not responding to what Ning Wenxian is saying.

Seeing Su Chengyu not utter a word and staring at her, Ning Wenxian frowns deeper, raising her voice: ”Sir, it’s rude not to respond and to keep staring at a lady, don’t you know?”

Even as she raises her voice, her tone remains quite gentle.

However, she achieves her aim, successfully bringing Su Chengyu back to reality.

Su Chengyu, returning to his senses, smiles warmly as he introduces himself: ”Hello, I’m Su Chengyu. Su of Su Dongpo, Cheng as in bear, Yu as in resist. When my older brother was born, he already showed more intelligence than other kids his age. So my dad named me Chengyu, hoping I could bear and resist the pressure from my brother.”
