Peaceful Farm Life

Chapter 2212: Chapter 2213: Chance Encounter with Ning Zihan? (Part 3)

In An Jing’s view, E City is a place of heartbreak for her precious daughter because of Ning Zihan, so it’s better not to go.

”But I want to go...” An Baobei pouted unhappily because An Jing and Su Changyi disagreed with her, her voice still low. ”Dad, Mom, I still like him... I want to go see him, even if I can’t see him it’s okay... I just want to stay a few days where he lives...”

Seeing An Baobei’s barely audible voice and her clearly unhappy look, An Jing and Su Changyi couldn’t bear to see An Baobei like this and could only sigh and agree: ”Then you can go.”

Only then did An Baobei smile happily: ”Thank you, Mom and Dad!”

An Jing sighed again before advising: ”Baobei, you still need to try not to like him.”

An Baobei immediately replied with a smile: ”I guess I’m just like you guys, devoted~” She hadn’t contacted Ning Zihan for half a year, but her feelings for him continued to grow.

An Jing didn’t know what else to say, so she just added: ”It’s just tough for you.”

An Baobei shook her head and laughed: ”This path I chose myself, it’s not tough. Besides, Dad, Mom, Grandpa, and Uncle all care so much about me, I’m happy every day, really not tough at all.”

The warmth of her family was enough to counteract the bitterness of her unrequited love.

So An Jing said no more. She was merely grateful now, grateful that she and her husband’s home was warm enough to bring comfort to their beloved daughter.

...

The next day, An Baobei flew to E City with Su Chengyu because he was there for business. He was busy for a few days, while An Baobei spent her time either staying in the hotel or wandering E City alone.

Especially those places where Ning Zihan once took her to play, she revisited almost all of them.

After Su Chengyu had been busy for five days, he wasn’t as busy anymore, and took An Baobei to see where his bar would open, and then after visiting two more places, brought An Baobei to the most upscale Western restaurant in E City for lunch.

Having been here for a year, An Baobei had eaten Western food many times but still wasn’t very good at cutting steak, so Su Chengyu helped her cut it, and once it was done, he pushed the steak in front of her.

”Go ahead and eat.”

”Thank you, Uncle.” Only then did An Baobei pick up the knife and fork again, happily eating the steak that Su Chengyu had cut for her.

While watching An Baobei eat steak, Su Chengyu also cut his own steak and ate. After taking a bite, he picked up a goblet and took a sip of the red wine, smiling and saying: ”Baobei, although I’m not finished with work, it’s not as hectic as before. If you want to go somewhere, feel free to ask me to accompany you.”

”Okay, okay.”

”The steak at this Western restaurant is pretty good, eat more.”

”Okay, okay.”

Just as An Baobei happily nodded, she saw Ning Zihan walking upstairs. She and Su Chengyu were on the second floor of the restaurant and she hadn’t expected to encounter Ning Zihan; she was dumbfounded.

”What are you looking at, you’re not even eating.” Seeing An Baobei staring in one direction without blinking and not eating her steak, Su Chengyu found it amusing and instinctively looked over in the direction of An Baobei’s gaze, and saw Ning Zihan being escorted towards the direction of a private room.

Su Chengyu glanced at An Baobei again, seeing her still looking at Ning Zihan but hesitant to greet him, he turned back and loudly greeted Ning Zihan with a smile: ”President Ning, what a coincidence, I can even run into you while having a meal.”
